Masculine Valentine in Neutral Colors

I’ve been in Valentine card-making mode, so I’m continuing with one in neutral colors. I’m thinking this would appeal to guys, don’t you agree?

Valentine in Neutrals

A card base in Crumb Cake Cardstock is always a good bet for guys, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I cut a layer of Basic White Cardstock, 5″ X 3 3/4″, and used a Be Mine Stitched Die to cut the band of hearts across the center. This die is great, because it cuts a “frame” of hearts, and also gives you 21 little hearts. But for this card, I glued the frame back in the hole (inlaid), after backing the white layer with wood texture, In Good Taste Designer Paper. I hope this makes sense.

Once my heart layer was glued together, I backed it with True Love Designer Paper, 1/8″ larger, giving it a narrow, black & white, diagonal border.

The banner was cut from Brushed Metallic Cardstock, using the Banner Triple Punch, 1″ X 1 3/4″. I gave it some texture with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder. The punch is a handy tool that you can check out in my Product List below.

The heart by the banner was cut from True Love Designer Paper with a Be Mine Stitched Die. I backed it for thickness, gave it a Linen Thread bow, and attached it with Dimensionals.

“Sent with love” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Stazon Ink, and cut with a Floral Gallery Die. Don’t you love the perforated edge?

I was inspired by the sketch and colors at Fusion.

Welcoming Window With Vellum

I’ve already expressed how much I love the Welcoming Window Bundle, and the feeling continues.

By Su Mohr for Fusion; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Welcoming Windows, Vellum cardstock, Brick& Mortar embossing, #welcomingwindows #windows #windowsoncards #vellumoncards #friendshipcards #cardchallenges #cardinspiration #brick&mortar #sumohr #aromasandart #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stampinup #saleabration2021

Vellum Window & Vase

Today’s card actually began with the flower vase. I used a Window Flower Box Die for cutting, and was happy that Vellum Cardstock made it look like glass. The flowers were created with two-step stamping on my Stamparatus. After positioning the greenery on Basic White Cardstock, I stamped with Soft Sea Foam Ink. Then, I placed the flower stamp on top of the stamped greenery, stamped with Petal Pink Ink, and cut the bouquet with its Window Flower Box Die.

Next, I cut the window from Thick Basic White Cardstock, using its Window Flower Box Die. And, the Vellum was handy, so I decided to add “glass” window panes by gluing a piece to the back of the window.

The shutters were stamped in Sahara Sand Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, cut with their die, and attached with Dimensionals.

The window is surrounded by white bricks, created with Basic White Cardstock (5 1/4″ X 4″) and the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.

Prior to embossing, I used the window die to cut a hole where I wanted to place the window. This led to attaching the brick layer with Dimensionals on the Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″), for additional dimension.

The sentiment is from the Welcoming Window Stamp Set. I stamped “wishing our paths crossed a little more often” in Crumb Cake Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, 4 3/4″ X 1/2″, also attached with Dimensionals.

Talk about wonderful inspiration! I think you can see how I came up with my card design; the sketch and the photo from Fusion.

Clean & Simple Valentine

Some of my favorite cards have lots of “white space.” That means, “open space” in any color, but in this case, it’s actually white.

By Su Mohr for Fusion; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Berry Delightful Designer Paper, Be Mine Stitched Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Quite Curvy Bundle; True Love Designer Paper; #heartsoncards #valentines #cleanandsimplecards #saleabration2021 #stampinup #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart

Clean & Simple Heart

The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. It’s layered with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die.

Prior to gluing the layer to the card base, I cut a strip of Berry Delightful Designer Paper, 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, and True Love Designer Paper, 3/4″ X 5 1/2″. After gluing them together, I glued the strip to the white layer, and cut with the Stitched Rectangles Die at the same time. Can you see the stitching along the top and bottom of the strip?

Next, I used the “fancy” Be Mine Stitched Die to cut the outside heart from Basic White Cardstock. A second heart die was used to cut the inside heart from red and white, Berry Delightful Designer Paper. I glued the two together, and attached it to the strip with Dimensionals.

The sentiment, “for you,” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with a smaller, Be Mine Stitched heart die. Perched on top of the heart is a sweet bird from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with its Curvy Die.

My layout is from the Fusion sketch.

Mr. Moose and November Winner Announcement

Mr. Moose said it was time to create another Christmas card, and the first day of December seemed like a good day.

By Su Mohr for TGIF and Fusion; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Moose Punch,Winter Snow embossing, Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set, Special Day Dies, Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper, Ornate Border Dies; #christmascards #moose #moosepunch #mooseoncards #holidaycards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #cardinstructions #fancyfolds #hohoho #cardchallenges #cardsketches #cardthemes

Mr. Moose says “Ho Ho Ho”

Before seeing the details of his requests, I want to congratulate the winner of my November Drawing…..Yay, Sheila G! You will receive the Stampin’ Up! Notebook and the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots, plus the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. All of my customers who ordered a minimum of $50.00 will receive the Winter Snow Embossing Folder, plus one of my handmade cards, as soon as I receive my order from Stampin’ Up!

You can see my December gift offering below Mr. Moose and his card.

Now for Mr. Moose, who was cut with the Moose Punch from Early Espresso Cardstock. He wanted to be placed on Dimensionals, so I gave him three layers of cardstock for sturdiness. Do you see the cute, Real Red Cardstock, bow, tied on his antler? We found it in the Special Day Dies, along with the bubble to show that he was speaking.

Mr. Moose felt that “Ho Ho Ho” would be easy for him to say, and appropriate for the season. We found it in the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set, and stamped it in Early Espresso Ink.

Things were going quite well, up to this point. Then, Mr. Moose decided he wanted a “fancy fold” card, and told me to chop an inch off the front of the Thick Whisper White card base that was 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. I wasn’t sure what he had in mind, but this was his card, so I proceeded.

First, he wanted to walk on Whisper White Cardstock, embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder, 3 3/4″ X 2 1/4″. I liked this idea, so my customers could see how pretty the snowflakes were on the embossing folder they’d be receiving.

Next, Mr. Moose wanted red to match his bow, so I cut a piece of Real Red Cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 5″, and topped it with Heartwarming Hugs gingham paper, 3 1/4″ X 4 3/4″. But, that wasn’t sufficient, because he wanted a detailed edge, and found an Ornate Border Die for the top and bottom of the red layer.

We used that same die for the inside, Whisper White Cardstock layer, 3 1/4″ X 4 1/4″, and lined it up with the snowflake piece on the card front.

To complete the inside, he said Santa Claus always says, “Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas,” so we wrote “Merry Christmas” using Real Red Cardstock and two Word Wishes Dies.

Mr. Moose is proud of his card, and wanted to enter it in two challenges:

Fusion, for the sketch and “ho ho ho.”

TGIF, because Mr. Moose says his card is a magical Christmas card, and hopes you agree.

Stitched Leaves In Stitched Circles

I began today’s “thanks” or “Thanksgiving” card with a Mossy Meadow card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Whisper White Cardstock. The layer was cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die, and embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

By Su Mohr for Fusion; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Stitched Leaves Dies, Ornate layers Dies, Tasteful Textile embossing, Stitched Shapes Dies, Copper Foil, Word Wishes Dies, Ladybug Trinkets, Blending Brushes; #thankyoucards #thanksgivingcards #stitchedleaves #leaves #leavesoncards #cardsketches #cardthemes #cardinspiration #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #cardinstruction #blendingbrushes

Stitched Leaves

Now, for the leaves. Oh my goodness! The new Blending Brushes are a-m-a-a-a-a-zing! Maybe I’ve been living under a rock, but I was expecting something more like a sponge, not these incredibly soft brushes. The brushes are coming soon, #153611, available Jan. 3, 2021, so put them on your list.

Once I stopped feeling the bristles, I added Garden Green Ink, and Mossy Meadow Ink, and smoothed it over Whisper White Cardstock.

Next, I used two Stitched Leaves Dies to cut the leaves from my newly, green colored, cardstock, while using  their embossing dies for interior stitching. (See the first photo).

To back the leaves, I used Stitched Shapes Dies to cut circles from Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede Cardstock. For the outline stitching on the circles, I used the Stitched Leaves Dies a second time. Then, I glued these cut circles to a second set of complete circles, and inlaid the leaves.

The smallest, gingham, circle was cut from Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper, and glued flat. Then, I attached the two larger circles with Dimensionals.

The sentiment was cut from Copper Foil with a Word Wishes Die, placed on a Foam Adhesive Sheet. It was easy to snip “giving” from “Thanksgiving” to simply say “Thanks.” The more difficult part was removing all the tiny parts from the letters.

While I was photographing my card, a little ladybug flew onto a leaf. I decided to let her stay, and she is secured in place with a Mini Glue Dot. If you’re wondering, she is a Ladybug Trinket, #154299, part of the Dandy Garden Suite in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog.

I was inspired by Fusion; the sketch, colors, and theme.

I’m also sharing with TGIF, whose theme is “thankful.”

Nothing’s Better Than Coffee

I’m excited to say I’ll be attending Stampin’ Up’s Virtual On Stage, beginning today at 4:30, and ending Saturday at 2:30. Therefore, I won’t be posting cards Friday or Saturday.

For today, enjoy a cup of coffee!

Loving Coffee

I began with a Gray Granite card base, layered with REAL wood. Not really, but doesn’t it look real? It’s In Good Taste Designer Paper, and the texture it adds is amazing!

The cozy fabric is also In Good Taste Designer Paper, cut with an Ornate Layers Die.

Now for the coffee! The coffee cup is from the Nothing’s Better Than Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink (perfect, huh?) on Whisper White Cardstock, and cut with its Love You More Than Die. I added a bit of color with Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends.

“Coffee” was cut from Early Espresso Cardstock, and doubled for thickness, so it would be sturdy to hang over the edge of the oval. You can see the dies in the first photo; plus the complete bundle can be seen in my Product List below.

The sentiment, “Today’s plan: consume”  is from the Nothing’s Better Than Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink, and cut with a Layering Ovals Die. I used a scalloped Layering Ovals Die to give the plain oval a wood textured border, and attached it with Dimensionals.

Before attaching the coffee cup with a Dimensional, I stamped steam, from the Nothing’s Better Than Stamp Set, on the cozy fabric. And, your card is ready for a coffee loving friend.

I was inspired by Fusion.
