Hearts Of Elegance with “Tear it up” Technique

I love hearts, and no matter what paper you use, they look beautiful. For today’s heart I used one of the Hearts Of Elegance Dies with Flowering Zinnias Designer Paper. You can see the entire, Online Exclusive, bundle in my Product List below. The detailed edge of this heart is wonderful!

Torn Paper Heart

Have you tried “paper tearing” for a different look?  The heart began with four torn pieces of designer paper glued to Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″. Then, I used the Hearts Of Elegance Die for cutting.

For the background, I used the So Swirly Embossing Folder on Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″, which I glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment is from the Hearts Of Elegance Stamp Set. For contrast, I stamped “xoxo” in VersaMark on Basic Black Cardstock, and sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder. After setting it with the Heat Tool, I used a Stylish Shapes Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. Three Shiny Sequins were added as a finishing touch.

It was so much fun tearing the paper, this could become a favorite technique!

TGIF was my inspiration.  Click here to see many clever ways to use the “torn paper” technique.

Snowman in Winter Meadow

While punching out Tags for the Season and Joyful Images Ephemera Packs, I created two, simple, snowman cards. I can’t resist a cute snowman! You can click on the pictures in my Product List below to see all of the tags and images.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Merry Snowman

For the first card, I used two, long blue tags, covering the holes with the sentiment. I stamped “Merry” in Misty Moonlight Ink on Basic White cardstock, and used a Delicate Forest Die for cutting. “Christmas” is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set. The other tag was given “Merry,” cut from Gold Foil, with a Paper Pumpkin, Merry Tags & More Die. These were  attached to a background of Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″, embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder. This was glued to a Misty Moonlight card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. After attaching the tags with Dimensionals, and gluing the snowman in place, I added three, gold, snowflakes.

For the second card, I used two long, white, tags, stamping one with “Christmas,” from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set, in Misty Moonlight Ink. This time I cut “merry” from Misty Moonlight Cardstock, and layered it for thickness. The background is Winter Meadow Designer Paper, 5 1/4″ X 4″, glued to a Misty Moonlight card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. I attached the tags with Dimensionals, and tied a bow of Natural Tones Linen Thread through the holes. To complete the card, I added three, white, snowflakes.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Frames & Flowers Thank You Card

When I saw this week’s TGIF sketch challenge (scroll down to see), I thought of using the fabulous, Frames and Flowers Specialty Paper. I began by cutting three “holes,” using a Perennial Postage Die, in Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.  The “holes” made “windows” for the designer paper to show through the white cardstock.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Frames & Flowers Specialty Paper, Perennial Postage Dies, Forever Plaid Embossing Folder, Saying Hey Stamp Set, Blooming Pearls; #perennialpostage #sayinghey #frames&flowers #foreverplaid #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #artisandesignteam #sumohr

Frames & Flowers

Next, I stamped “thanks,” from the Saying Hey Stampin Set, in Lost Lagoon Ink. Then, I gave the entire piece texture with the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder, and glued it to a Lost Lagoon card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The eucalyptus branches were easy to apply with Dimensionals, after punching them from the sheets that come in the Frames & Flowers Specialty Paper Pack. That’s what makes this paper very special! The final detail was adding three Blooming Pearls.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Pumpkin Wreath for Fall

There is a wonderful Fall scene of a pumpkin patch in the Splendid Autumn Designer Paper, which I chose for today’s card. Using an Encircled In Nature Die, I cut a circle from the DSP, and layered it with cardstock for thickness. Then, I used a second, Encircled In Nature Die to cut a wreath from the backside of the DSP.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Splendid Autumn DSP, Changing Leaves Embossing Folder, Encircled In Nature Bundle, Something Fancy Dies; #splendidautumn #encircledinnature #changingleaves #fallcards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #stampinup #artisandesignteam #tgif

Splendid Autumn Pumpkins

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, embossed with the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder. This was glued to a Blackberry Bliss card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment is from the Encircled In Nature Stamp Set, which can be ordered with the dies, for a 10% savings. I stamped “a huge thank you” in Blackberry Bliss Ink, used a Something Fancy Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. To complete the card, I added three, Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.

I’ve already created another card, using the same designer paper, that I’ll show you next week.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Full Of Life Card Design

If you haven’t discovered Full Of Life Designer Paper, you need to! It was so much fun creating today’s card, with strips of squares cut from one of the patterns. I used my Paper Trimmer to cut five rows of four squares each, and glued them in an alternating design on Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. This layer was glued to a Shaded Spruce card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. You can see the card sketch below, that was my inspiration.

Time To Celebrate

I left a space for the sentiment, “Time To Celebrate!” It’s from the Bistro Burger Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink. Isn’t the bird cute? She is from the Country Birdhouse Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink on Full Of Life DSP. After stamping, I used her Country Birdhouse Die for cutting, and attached her with Dimensionals.

For some “celebration” sparkle, I added five, Adhesive backed Shiny Sequins.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Regal Flora Friendship Card

Today’s card was inspired by a color challenge: Night Of Navy, Berry Burst, and Crumb Cake. The new Regal Flora Bundle will look great in any combination of colors, so I began stamping flowers in Berry Burst Ink, and a sprig in Crumb Cake Ink, on Basic White Cardstock. The bundle has dies for cutting, yay!

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Regal Flora Bundle, Friends For Life Dies, Deckled Rectangles Dies, Sketched Plaid Stamp, Birch Wood Embossing Folder, Shiny Sequins; #regalflora #friends #deckledrectangles #sketchedplaid #colorcombos #colorchallenge #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stampinup #sumohr #artisandesignteam

Regal Flora

Next, I used two Friends For Life dies to cut “friends” from Night Of Navy Cardstock and Basic White Cardstock. After gluing the word to the backing, I placed it on Dimensionals. Then, I glued the flowers and sprig to Crumb Cake Cardstock, cut with the third largest Deckled Rectangles Die. Prior to gluing, I embossed the Crumb Cake Cardstock with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder.

The background was created with the Sketched Plaid Stamp and Crumb Cake Ink on Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die. After cutting, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. For a little sparkle, I added three Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins.

I was inspired by TGIF.
