Pretty Poinsettia for Christmas in July

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

This week, TGIF has a sketch challenge. I hope you’ll be inspired, and join our challenge. Please tag your project #tgifc585, when you share it on social media.

I’m thinking about “Christmas in July,” so for those who are ready for it, I’m sharing one of my favorites from July Online Exclusives, the Pretty Poinsettia Bundle. I began with Basic White Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″, embossed with the new, Swirls Of Magic Embossing Folder. After embossing, I cut the layer at an angle, to mimic the sketch, and glued the two pieces to a Barely Blush card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Pretty Poinsettia

Next, I used Pretty Poinsettia Dies to cut 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Specialty Paper. Pretty Poinsettia is one of the sets that Stampin’ Up made to give extra dimension to the die-cuts by using an Impressions Plate. It comes with instructions, but I’ll try to explain. You’ll need to run the die-cuts through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine two times. The first time you will cut as you normally do: plate #1, plate #2, plate #3, paper, die (cutting side down), plate #3. The second time, you will leave the cut paper in the die, turn it cutting side up on plate #2, which is on top of plate #1. Then, place the flexible, Impressions Plate on top of the die-cut, top it with plate #4, and run it through a second time.

After cutting, I glued the larger, and smaller poinsettias in place. They each have two rounds of Barely Blush bracts, a round of Peaceful Pine leaves, and centers of Golden Glow. I used the same Golden Glow Pearlized Specialty paper to cut “Joy,” and glued it in place. This is a retired sentiment, but it’s in my Product List to make it easier to find in your stash.

Summer Happiness Thank You Card

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

This week’s TGIF Challenge is “color,” using Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lime Twist, and Basic Black. We can’t wait to see how YOU use the colors. Please join our challenge, and tag your entry #tgifc584.

The Summer Happiness Bundle just became available on July 1, and it has a really cute flower die. I used it to cut five flowers from Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana cardstocks. The centers cut separately, so I mixed the colors for extra fun!

From Su Mohr for TGIFC584; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Summer Happiness, Words & Wishes, Beautiful Ordinary Life, Shimmering Dots; #words&wishes #beautifulordinarylife #summerhappiness #shimmeringdots #stampinup #tgifc584 #thankyoucard #colorchallenge

Summer Happiness

For the background, I used the leafy pattern of Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Paper, 3 7/8 X 5 1/8. This was layered on Basic Black Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/2″, layered on a Coastal Cabana card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. “Thank you” is from the Words and Wishes Bundle, one of the five sets that Stampin’ Up! guarantees to keep around for a year. I cut the words from Basic Black Cardstock, backed them in White Willow Cardstock, and attached them with Dimensionals.

As a final detail, I added some Shimmering Dots in matching colors. Aren’t they pretty?

Violet Dreams Sneak Peek for TGIF

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

This week’s TGIF Challenge is a technique, “popping it up.”

For today’s card I’m giving you a sneak peek of the new, Violet Dreams Suite Collection! It’s a favorite, new, Online Exclusive, available July 1!

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Violet Dreams, Sweet Words & Labels Dies; #sweetwords&labels#scalloped blooms #violetdreams #violets #thanks #handmadecards #cardmaking #handcrafted #onlineexclusives

Violet Dreams

I began today’s card by cutting a dark pattern of the beautiful, Violet Dreams Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and gluing it to a Fresh Freesia card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used a Sweet Words & Labels Die to cut a striped pattern of Violet Dreams Designer Paper, and glued it in the middle of the card front.

Next, I had fun punching out images from a sheet that’s included in the Violet Dreams Designer Paper. After punching, I used Dimensionals to “pop up” a bouquet of violets on the striped paper. Then, for added dimension, I “popped up” matching, punched out pieces, to the flowers and leaves.

The sentiment, “thanks,” is from the Help Me Grow Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on White Willow Cardstock, used a Scalloped Blooms Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

Boutique Blossoms Sunset Floral for TGIF Inspiration Challenge

This week, TGIF has an inspiration challenge. I created flowers in sunset colors, and used a circular, Scalloped Blooms Die to represent the ferris wheel. We’d love to see what you create, using this beautiful sunset as inspiration.

I began with a background of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, embossed with the Lazy Daisy Embossing Folder. This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Sunset Flowers

Next, I used a Boutique Blossoms Die to cut 15 flowers from Garden Poetry Designer Paper. This paper has the perfect colors for a red, purple, and gold sunset. After cutting, I used a Bone Folder to curl them, and attached them to the card front with Mini Dimensionals.

I stamped “happy birthday,” from the Cutest Crew Stamp Set, in Blackberry Bliss Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After cutting with a Scalloped Blooms Die, I attached the sentiment with Dimensionals. I couldn’t complete the card without adding four Sunset Sparkle Sequins.

Valley In Bloom for TGIF Challenge

Don’t miss out on FREE SHIPPING!

This week’s TGIF Challenge is a sketch. We’d love to see how you use the sketch, and hope that you’ll play along with us. Please tag your creation #tgifc581. You could be a winner!

I began by cutting one of the beautiful patterns of Valley In Bloom Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I used a Stylish Shapes circle die to cut the middle from the designer paper. The 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece, with the hole in the middle, was glued to a Blackberry Bliss card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Blackberry Bliss might look like black in the photo, but it’s a deep, rich purple.

Valley In Bloom

Next, I stamped “Happy Birthday” in Blackberry Bliss Ink on Valley in Bloom Designer Paper, and used a Stylish Shapes Die for cutting. The sentiment is in the Lily Of The Valley Stamp Set. After layering the sentiment label and circle on cardstock for thickness, I attached them to the card front with Dimensionals.

This card was so simple to do, I tried making it more complicated, but decided “less is more,” and just added three, Sunset Sparkle Sequins.

Product of the Month  ($5.00 with a $75.00 order).

Sympathy Card for TGIF Challenge

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

This week’s TGIF Challenge is “color,” using Smoky Slate, Night Of Navy, and Granny Apple Green. I can’t wait to see how YOU use the colors. Please join our challenge, and tag your entry #tgifc580.

I thought the colors would be nice on a sympathy card.

By Su Mohr for tgifc580; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Prayers & Promises, Boutique Blossoms Bundle, Eyelet Blooms Die, Scalloped Blooms Dies; #prayersandpromises #boutiqueblossoms #scallopedblooms #handmadecard #handcrafted #diy #stampinup #sympathycards

Boutique Blossoms Sympathy

The first thing I did was cut Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″ with the Eyelet Blooms Die. This was glued to a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. After I created my card, I saw that the Eyelet Blooms Die has sold out. This is going to happen to Products of the Month, so if you like this month’s, Wild Bunch Stamp Set, don’t wait to order. You can see it below.

Next, I stamped flowers, from the Boutique Blossoms Stamp Set, in Night Of Navy Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I stamped the “outline” stamp first, and stamped the “coloring” stamp second. Then, I used the Boutique Blossoms Dies for cutting. Before attaching the flowers to the card front, I cut leaves from Granny Apple Green Cardstock with a Boutique Blossoms Die, and glued them in place.

The sentiment, “so sorry for your loss,” is from the Promises & Prayers Stamp Set. I stamped it in Night Of Navy Ink, used a Scalloped Blooms Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.
