This adorable, backward girl from the Birthday Delivery stamp set wanted to get in on some stamping action. I thought she would show up nicely stamped with Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock. She said she wanted to deliver balloons to her friend who was having a birthday, so I stamped a string for tying the balloons. She also told me her friend’s favorite colors were royal blue and lime green, so this was going to be perfect for the Less Is More Challenge.

I decided the base card would be Lemon Lime Twist, the name for Stampin’ Up’s lime green. For a little extra pizazz, I used a die from the Card Front Builder set, which is in the Holiday catalog, and I believe it’s good for year-round projects. I’ve used it on the bottom border as shown here, but it can border the top half, or the entire card as well.
I chose Pacific Point, Stampin’ Up’s royal blue, to stamp “HAPPY” and “BIRTHDAY” from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. The “HAPPY” would become a balloon that I would cut with a die from the Birthday Friends set.
I let the little girl choose the royal and lime balloon patterns from Designer Series Papers: Birthday Wishes and Fresh Florals. She did a good job, don’t you think?

The die for cropping the little girl is pictured, but I ended up not using it. She told me “sometimes, less is more, and I agreed.”

Love the patterns you chose for the balloons and the base detail. Also a great touch to keep the girl image uncoloured.
