Crafting Forever Friends for Paper Players 440

It’s Sunday, and time for Paper Players, where “friends” is the theme. My mind immediately went to the Crafting Forever stamp set, and I took the sentiment, “we are cut out to be friends,” literally

By Su Mohr for Paper Players Design Team; Featuring: Crafting Forever stamp set, Enjoy Life stamp set, Stitched Shapes dies, Be Mine Stitched dies, Quilt Top embossing, gingham ribbon; #craftingforever #enjoylife #stitchedshapes #friendshipcards #wellwrittendies #twinkletwinkledsp #handmadecards #stampinup

Cut Out Friends

First, I stamped the friends from The Enjoy Life stamp set in Night of Navy ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock. Then, I cut them out using my Stampin’ Up! Paper Snips.

Since their arms were in the air, I gave them a large word to hold, “friend,” from the Well Written die set.

I designed the rest of the card around my cut out friends. The card base is Thick Whisper White followed by a layer of Twinkle Twinkle DSP in Night of Navy. It looks like stitching, so went along with the crafting theme that was developing.

The top layer is Whisper White cardstock, that I edged with a Be Mine Stitched die, and embossed with the Quilt Top folder.

I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink, and used an oval Stitched Shapes die for cutting.

Before placing the sentiment, I attached a piece of Gingham Ribbon using Tear&Tape. The scissors you see are not the ones I used to cut out the friends. This is a stamp from Crafting Forever, which was cut with my Paper Snips.

I hope my friendship card was inspiring. I’d love to see what you create, so please join in the fun at the Paper Players card challenge.

The Gingham Ribbon, Quilt Top embossing folder, and Twinkle Twinkle DSP are retiring. So, order now, while supplies last. Thanks for shopping!

Tea Together Mother’s Day Card

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and the Tea Together stamp set is my favorite for the occasion.

By Su Mohr for FMS; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Tea Time dies, Tea Together stamp set, Lace embossing, Buffalo Check stamp, Bokeh Dot stamp; #mothersdaycards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #teatogether #teatime #tea #lace

Mother’s Day Tea Time

I was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches.

First, I applied Blushing Bride ink to the Bokeh Dots stamp, and stamped on Whisper White cardstock. Second, using the same Blushing Bride ink, I stamped the teacup from the Tea Together stamp set. Third, I used its die from the Tea Time die set for cutting, and layered for thickness.

For the background, I had previously stamped a piece of Buffalo Check in Blushing Bride ink, so this was a perfect time to use it.

I chose Whisper White cardstock to layer on top, which I cut to the shape of the sketch, and embossed with the Lace embossing folder. Then, I cut a scalloped edge with a Be Mine Stitched die.

The pretty flower was stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock. I colored the leaves with a Stampin’ Blend in Light Old Olive, and added a black faceted jewel to the center.

The sentiment, “Happy Mother’s Day,” was stamped in Black ink, and cut with a Layering Ovals die.

Retirement

I wanted to design a scene, because of this week’s challenge at Global Design Project.

First, I cut Whisper White cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4,’ and then used a Stitched Seasons die for making the frame. Before gluing the frame to its Thick Whisper White card base, I embossed it with the Country Floral embossing folder, and backed it with a piece of blue, Tranquil Textures, DSP. The Garden Green grass was provided by the Enjoy Life stamp set.

I just love the Adirondack chairs and the branch from the Seasonal Layers die set, and happy this set is carrying over to the new 2019-2020 Catalog. I cut these elements from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, and layered them for thickness.

The Seasonal Layers die set also includes the blossom, which I cut from Floral Romance Designer Series Paper.

The sentiment, “enjoy your retirement,” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. It fit perfectly in a die cut from the At Home die set. It’s coordinating stamp set, At Home with You, provided the bow, which ties the sign to the branch. This set is retiring, so you can find it in the “Last Chance” products by clicking on my “shop” button.

Many of the items are retiring on my retirement card, but not all. I know it gets confusing, so please ask me, if you have a question, [email protected].

Stenciling Plus Angled Texture Technique

Stenciling works well on angles, and I combined it with texture in today’s project.

By Su Mohr for cts; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Welcoming Angles

My idea began with this week’s CAS(E) this sketch.

I decided on a Bermuda Bay card base topped with Pool Party. Then, I chose a piece of Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper for my stencil. Holding the stencil at an angle that approximated the sketch, I used a Sponge Dauber with Bermuda Bay ink to create the pretty, floral design.

Next, I lined up the Subtle Textured embossing folder with the stenciled design, and ran it through the Big Shot to create the texture on the top half of the card.

I knew I wanted to say, “welcome,” because this card is for a new neighbor who is having an open house on Friday. The word is from the Well Written die set, which I cut From Bermuda Bay cardstock to match the card base.

But, my card needed some color, so I added a branch in Lemon Lime Twist, and the cute, little, bird in Flirty Flamingo. The branch and bird were also in the Well Written die set.

The last detail was three, little, Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. If you haven’t tried stenciling, give it a try. I must warn you, though; it’s addictive!

The Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut DSP is retiring, so order before it’s no longer available. Thanks for shopping!

Paw Print

I found a perfect sentiment in the Happy Tails stamp set, “A best friend leaves a paw print on your heart.

I was asked by a veterinarian friend to make sympathy cards for cats and dogs. If you missed my post a couple weeks ago, here are the cats:

Kre8tors April 2019 Blog Hop: Spring Color

Like the cat cards, I made ten dog cards.

I used Share What You Love Designer Series Paper for the background, which determined the coordinating colors.

The hearts were cut with a die from the Be Mine Stitched die set from the card base colors. The card base colors are Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake, and Mint Macaron, and the heart trim is Whisper White, Real Red, Tranquil Tide, Rich Razzleberry, and Pear Pizzazz.

The dogs were cut with the Dog Punch from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, layered for thickness, and placed on dimensionals.

I discussed the inside sentiment with my friend, and decided on, “Thinking of You….Please know that I care.” It’s from the retired, Thoughts and Prayers, stamp set.

This was a very satisfying project, knowing that my veterinarian friend will send these cards to help heal the hearts of those who have lost their pets.

Thank you for coming by today! Keep scrolling to see my Product List. Please keep in mind, this Designer Series Paper is only available as long as supplies last.

Baby Bear for Paper Players 439

How I love Baby Bear! I have a soft spot in my heart for stuffed animals, and Baby Bear looks so real! Isn’t he irresistible?

By Su Mohr for PP439 and tgifc209; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Baby Bear stanp set, Laser-Cut Paper, Bunch of Banners, Stitched Shapes die set, 6X6 Neutrals DSP; #babybear #delightfullydetailedlasercutpaper # #bunchofbanners #subtletexture #handmadecards #stuffedanimals #handmadecards #bearsoncards #sepia #cardsusingsepia

Sepia Baby Bear

Baby Bear has been on my mind, since I learned that he was one of Stampin’ Up’s retiring products. So, when I saw the “sepia” challenge at TGIF, I immediately thought of him.

I used three colors of brown to stamp Baby Bear; Soft Suede , Crumb Cake, and Sahara Sand. To achieve his realistic look, Stampin’ Up gave us three stamps for a “3 step” process. First, I stamped the most details in the darkest color, Soft Suede. Second, I stamped the medium details in the medium shade, Crumb Cake. Third, I stamped the least details (looks like a blob) in the lightest shade, Sahara Sand.

The Stamparatus positioning tool made this “3 step” process very easy.

I stamped Baby Bear on Very Vanilla cardstock, matching the card base, and cut with a Stitched Shapes circle die.

The sentiment, “love you,” is from the stamp set, and the inside says, “beary much.” I used a Bunch of Banners die for cutting, which is a die set that is also retiring.

The background is Crumb Cake cardstock with a vertical strip of Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut DSP, and a horizontal strip of 6 X 6 Neutrals DSP.  This layout was designed by Claire at Paper Players.

Thank you for stopping by to see Baby Bear. If you want one of your own, remember, he is a “Last Chance” product, so only while supplies last. You can click on his picture in my Product List, or click on my “shop” button to see the entire “Last Chance” products.
