Love is in the Air for PP427

Theme challenges are so much fun, because they give you lots of leeway. But, I loved the Paper Players inspirational photo so much, my design ended up looking a lot like it!

Love is in the air

Here’s the inspirational photo. See what I mean?

My sky is Balmy Blue cardstock on a Thick Whisper White card base. The white clouds are represented by Delightfully Detailed laser-Cut Paper. I just snipped a section from the 12X12 sheet, and used tiny dots of Liquid Glue to adhere it to the sky. The edges were trimmed before gluing the sky to the card base.

Isn’t my Lovely Lipstick heart beautiful? I can brag about it, because all I did was crop it from a piece of All My Love Designer Series Paper. There’s a heart die in the Be Mine Stitched die set that is the perfect size for cutting. I love it when Stampin’ Up! matches dies to the designer paper! The pretty, white, trim around the heart is from another heart die in the Be Mine Stitched die set.

The two “love birds” on the heart were made with a Botanical Tags die, cut from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. They are perched on a branch from the same Botanical tags die set.

I  used a Sunshine Wishes die for cutting the word, “love,” and matched it to the bird’s feathers.

“Love You To Pieces”

A jigsaw puzzle heart is perfect for saying, “love you to pieces.”

By Su Mohr for cts307; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: All My Love DSP, Love You To Pieces stamp set, Puzzle Pieces dies; #allmylove #loveyoutopieces #beminestitched #valentines #valentinecards #handmadecards #anniversarycards #stampinup #cardchallenges #casethissketch #diy #papercrafts

We just fit

This heart was cut from one of the 12 designs in the All My Love DSP, using a die from the Puzzle Pieces die set. Please see the Product List at the end of my post for more details.

I gave the heart a couple layers, so it would feel like a real jigsaw puzzle piece. The pieces are held together by dimensionals, which also adhere it to the card front.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock, which I chose to blend with the other two selections of All My Love DSP.

I trimmed each coordinating DSP to size, and used a scallop edged, Be Mine Stitched die, to add detail across the middle.

My inspiration for the layout was CAS(E) this sketch.

The great sentiment, “we just fit,” from the Love You To Pieces stamp set, ties it all together. I stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock, and used a Merry Christmas die for cutting.

I hope you can see how much fun it is to use the Puzzle Pieces die set. The Love You To Pieces stamp set with Puzzle Pieces dies are perfect for expressing love on any occasion. They are available in a bundle for a 10% savings! Thanks for stopping by today!

“Quick & Easy” Butterfly Card

Welcome to my blog on the first day of February! Today I’m sharing a “quick & easy” butterfly card.

By Su Mohr; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Botanical Butterfly DSP, Butterfly Gala stamp set, Wonderful Floral die set, Tranquil Textures DSP; #saleabration # butterflies #butterflycards #handmadecards #stampinup #diy #wonderfulfloral #butterflygala #quick&easy

I chose Balmy Blue for the card base, with Lemon Lime Twist for the right side of the sketch. To add some detail to the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, I used a Wonderful Floral die to make the arbor and leaves.

The left side is a pretty, floral print from the Botanical Butterfly DSP in the same green tones.

The butterfly is also from the Botanical Butterfly DSP, and I was happy to find a perfect one in blue and green. Well, almost perfect. It wasn’t the size of the punch, so I had to use my Paper Snips to fussy cut it.

I stamped the butterfly’s antennae before securing it to its place with Tear& Tape. I wanted to make sure it didn’t fly away!

The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set. I stamped “Hello Beautiful” in Black ink on a piece of Tranquil Textures DSP that was  cut with a Wonderful Floral die.

Thanks for stopping by today! Treat yourself to some crafting supplies at my online store. I wish you a wonderful February!

Detailed Floral Dies Birthday Card

Today’s birthday card has a see-through front made with the Detailed Floral Dies.

Sometimes a fabulous tool can get lost in the crowd. The new Stampin’ Up seasonal catalogs cause such excitement, that items from from annual catalog can get pushed to the back. Well, not today! I’m re-visiting the wonderful, Detailed Floral dies.

By Su Mohr; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Detailed Floral dies, Butterfly Duet Punch, Botanical Bliss stamp set; #birthdaycards #detailedfloral #handmadecards #diy #butterflies #butterflypunch #stampinup

Detailed Floral

I began by cutting the regular A2 card from Thick Very Vanilla cardstock. Then, I placed both dies on the front, with an even margin, and ran it through the Big Shot.

TIP: Roll it through several times to make sure all of the intricate pieces are cut.

Soft Sea Foam cardstock is the color I chose for the inside, which is peeking through the pattern made by the dies.

The sentiment, “Especially for you,” is from the Botanical Bliss stamp set. “Happy Birthday,” from the same set, fit perfectly on the inside space, hiding it from the front. Both were stamped in Old Olive ink, which I wanted a bit darker than Soft Sea Foam.

The last detail was the butterfly, which I stamped in VersaMark on Very Vanilla cardstock. Then, I sprinkled it with Clear embossing powder, and  set it with the Heat Tool. I colored the butterfly with a Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend, cut it with the Butterfly Duet Punch, and placed it on a Dimensional.

Seize the Birthday is a popular card challenge, and I’ll be adding my card to their gallery, as “anything goes.”

I hope I inspired you to revive some of your annual catalog favorites. Have a great day!

Happy Tails 3D Puppy for Valentine’s Day

This Happy Tails 3D Puppy, for Valentine’s Day, was made with Watercolor Paper.

By Su Mohr for GDP174; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Happy Tails stamp set, Dog Builder Punch, All My Love DSP, Pinewood Planks embossing, Be Mine Stitched dies; #valentines #valentinesdaycards #puppies #techniques #cardchallenges #handmadecards #diy #cardswithdogs #happytails #beminestitcheddies #allmylove

3D Puppy

Stampin’ Up’s Watercolor Paper has the thickness and durability for the desired effect. First, I used the Dog Builder Punch for cutting the puppy. Second, he was colored with a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend. Third, I turned him over, using a Spritzer to soak him with water, and a stylus to give him shape.

TIP: Use the stylus in small, circular motions. Let puppy dry completely before attaching him with Dimensionals.

In deciding on a setting for my puppy, I used Global Design Project’s sketch.

The large, oval, Whisper White fence was made with a retired Stampin’ Up die from the Oval Collection. I embossed it with the Pinewood Planks folder. Puppy is sitting on a bunch of red hearts made with a die from the Be Mine Stitched die set. This die set also has the die that cut the heart behind the puppy. The paper used for both is All My Love Designer Series Paper. The trim around the heart is Lovely Lipstick cardstock.

The card base is Crumb cake cardstock, layered with Crumb Cake cardstock, embossed by the Subtle Textured embossing folder. Before gluing the layer to the card base, I wound several strands of Linen Thread around it, and tied a knot on one end.

“Just Fur You” is the perfect greeting for my nephew and two nieces who will be receiving this card on Valentine’s Day.  They have a new puppy, so I think they’ll appreciate it. After stamping, Happy Valentines Day,” on the inside. the puppy added his signature by walking in Lovely Lipstick ink across the card (several times).

The decorated envelope flap was the last step, and it’s ready to mail.

Top Ten January 2019

The encouraging word I chose for today’s project is “welcome.” Whether you are moving to a new neighborhood, changing jobs, or joining a new group, it’s important to feel welcomed. Isn’t it great how our cards can touch people’s lives?

By Su Mohr for Kyli'es Top Ten Winners; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Wonderful Romance stamp set, Wonderful Floral die set, Rectangle Stitched dies, Floral Romance DSP, Pinewood Planks embossing; #watercolor #welcomecards #encouragement #wonderfulromance #floralromance #wonderfulfloral #handmadecards #framedart

Today’s project began with beautiful, Floral Romance Designer Series Paper, and was built from there. The colors in this paper are absolutely yummy, and brought out the desire in me to do some watercoloring. Using Watercolor paper, the Aqua Painter made it easy to apply ink (Petal Pink, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz) to the foliage. The foliage is from the Wonderful Romance stamp set, and cut with Wonderful Floral dies.

I used two Rectangle Stitched dies to create the frame from a gorgeous, leafy print of Floral Romance DSP. The frame was raised on Foam Adhesive Strips for added dimension.

The oval piece with a cut-out edge is also from the Wonderful Floral die set, and in the color of Sahara Sand.

The word, “welcome” is in the only dark color, Fresh Fig, and cut with a Well Written die. I wanted “welcome” to be prominent.

I chose the neutral color of Sahara Sand for the card base, and the background that I embossed with Pinewood Planks.

The final touch was the three Share What You Love Artisan pearls.

My original thought about this Wonderful Romance Bundle was that I had enough plants and flowers. I’m sure glad I reconsidered!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! You are a BIG source of encouragement to me, and I love to read your comments.
