Bird Bundle

My inspiration for the layout was from Fab Friday.

And, the colors are from TGIF.

I began with a Night Of Navy card base, topped with a layer of Whisper White Cardstock. The layer is stamped with Night of Navy Ink and the Crackle Paint Background Stamp.

The bird from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set is my focal point. I stamped him in Night of Navy Ink on Pool Party Cardstock, and fussy cut with Paper Snips.

The  leaves were stamped in Granny Apple Green Ink on the same color Cardstock, and the flower was stamped in Pool Party Ink on Whisper White Cardstock.

I used Paper Snips to cut the stamped images, and arranged them on a Thick Whisper White, die-cut hexagon from the Stitched Nested Label Die Set.

The sentiment, “Thinking of you,” is from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set, and I stamped it in Night of Navy Ink.

The horizontal strip beneath the hexagon is a scrap from a Stitched Lace die-cut, which I colored with a Sponge Dauber and Granny Apple Green Ink.

For the final touch, I added three Iridescent Sequins.

Thank you for visiting me today! I’ve included the Free As A Bird Bundle in my Product List. If you order the Free As A Bird Stamp Set and Stitched Nested Labels Dies together, you save 10%.

Puzzle Pieces Heart with Lace

The stamp set being featured at What Will You Stamp? this week is Love You To Pieces. I’m, so happy that it’s being carried over into the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalog, because the die cuts are to “die for!”

By Su Mohr for WWYS; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Heart Pieces

Here’s a look at the fun images and sentiments in the stamp set. You can order it by clicking on the picture in my Product List.

I used the Puzzle Pieces heart die to cut a jigsaw heart from Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. The black in the print seemed to call for a dramatic, black, background, and I was thrilled to use our new Stitched Lace die to cut the lace pattern.

I ran it through the die cutting machine a number of times, but you can see, nearly all of the “cut-outs” were removed.

The Basic Black Cardstock is thick, and I had to peel it, carefully, from the die.

After gluing the lace die-cut to Thick Whisper White Cardstock, I used a Stitched Shapes die to cut a square of white for the heart to rest upon.

The four pieces of heart were layered for thickness, and glued, slightly apart, so the “jigsaw” cut would be obvious.

I stamped “We just fit,” from the Love You To Pieces Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink. Three, tiny pearls were added as the final touch.

Thank you for visiting! Everything is available at my store, and I appreciate you shopping.

Father’s Day for Kre8tors June Blog Hop

This month,  the Kreators Blog Hop is all about grads and dads. I chose to feature Stampin’ Up’s! new 2019-2020 stamp set, A Good Man. It’s perfect for Father’s Day cards, and I love the artistically sketched images.

Loved

I began by stamping the father and son in Memento Black Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I colored their skin with an Ivory Stampin’ Blend, and the son’s hair with Light Crumb Cake. Rather than continue with Stampin’ Blends, I decided to do some “paper-piecing.”

I stamped and fussy cut their pants and shirts from four different scraps of Designer Series Paper, and glued them in place. I enjoy this “paper-piecing” technique, because it brings back wonderful, childhood, memories of playing with paper dolls.

Next, I used a Stitched Rectangle Die for cutting, and added a 1/16″ border of Soft Suede Cardstock.

For the background, I used the Corrugated Embossing Folder on a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock, and layered this on a Seaside Spray card base. This blue is gorgeous, and just might be my favorite, new, In Color.

Before gluing the corrugated layer to the card base, I tied some Old Olive Linen Thread around the bottom.

The sentiment, “I grew up loved,” was stamped in Soft Suede Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and cut with a Stitched Nested Label Die. “Thanks to you” is on the inside, along with two hearts, also in A Good Man stamp set.

The last step was decorating the envelope flap with retired DSP, Tranquil Textures.

Here are two more cards I made, using A Good Man stamp set.

Daisy Delight Heart

Today’s card was especially fun, because my first-born daughter was helping me.

By Su Mohr for Paper Players design Team; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Daisy Delight Stamp Set, Daisy Punch, Well Written Die Set, Be Mine Stitched Die Set; #daisies #daisiesoncards #gingham #beminestitched #wellwritten #daisydelight #daisyheart #handmadecards #handcrafted #cardmaking

Daisy Heart

I had completed the daisy heart, but she helped me decide how to implement Anne Marie’s three required colors.

The daisy heart was made with a heart die from the Be Mine Stitched die set, and the Daisy Punch.

First, I cut the heart from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and punched six daisies from regular Whisper White Cardstock. Next, I glued three of the flowers to the heart, trimming the petals to the shape of the heart. Then, I added a top layer on dimensionals, and trimmed again.

The flower centers are from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set, which I stamped in Daffodil Delight Ink.

My daughter and I chose Highland Heather for the card base, with a layer of Whisper White, cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die.

We added a strip of Gingham that has a scalloped edge, made with a Be Mine Stitched Die. If you look at the picture in my Product List, it’s the die on the bottom.

I gave it texture with the Subtle Texture Embossing Folder, so it would look like fabric.

“Love You” is from the Well Written Die Set, which I cut from Granny Apple Green Cardstock.

This is such a pretty color combination, don’t you think? The Paper Players Designers are excited to share their ideas, so check them out.

Thank you for stopping by, and remember, everything is now available from the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog! I appreciate you shopping at my store!

Button Button Butterfly Wishes

Today’s project is a birthday card, featuring the new Button Button Embossing Folder, and Birthday Wishes butterflies.

Button Butterflies

I began by making a frame of Whisper White Cardstock with a Stitched Rectangles Die. Then, I embossed it with Button Button.

Can you see how I was inspired by this week’s CAS(E) this sketch?

I’m also sharing with Seize the Birthday.

The new Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set provided the butterflies and sentiment. I stamped the butterflies in six colors of ink: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, and Pumpkin Pie.

Next, I punched them out with the Butterfly Duet Punch, and placed them on Mini-Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I used Memento Black Ink with the Stamparatus, making certain “Birthday Wishes” was properly placed. Unfortunately, I got black ink on my finger, which ended up on my Button Button frame. Accidents happen! But, guess what……..it wasn’t glued down, so I was able to turn it over. You are seeing the debossed  side, and it’s okay. Right?

It’s so much fun playing with new product. The Button Button Embossing Folder is available now, and can be ordered at my store. It’s pictured as a red rubber stamp in my Product List, but it’s clear in reality.

Thanks for stopping by!

Father’s Day Card from Daughter

I needed to make a very important card today; a Father’s Day card for my daughter to give her Dad this Sunday. I’m delighted that she comes to “my store” for her greeting card needs.

By Su Mohr for GDP; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: A Good Man Stamp Set, Buffalo Check Background Stamp, Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Stampin' Blends, Banner Triple Punch; #fathersdaycards #fatherdaughter #fathersday #buffalocheck #stampinblends #handmadecards #handcrafted #cardmaking

Father-daughter

Knowing that my husband’s favorite color is Crumb Cake, I began with a Crumb Cake card base, layering it with Whisper White Cardstock that I stamped with Crumb Cake ink and the Buffalo Check Background Stamp.

Next, I cut a 2″ wide piece of Whisper White Cardstock, punched the end with the Banner Triple Punch, and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.

Linen Thread was tied around the top of these layers, and glued to the card base.

My focal point is the father and daughter from A Good Man Stamp set. How precious is this!

I stamped the image in Memento Black Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and fussy cut with Paper Snips. They were fun to color with Stampin’ Blends in the seven colors listed in my Product List.

After coloring, they took their place atop Dimensionals.

The sentiment, “I grew up loved,” is also from A Good Man Stamp Set, along with the sentiment inside, “thanks to you.” I stamped both in Soft Suede Ink, and cut the card front sentiment with a Stitched Rectangle Die.

My sketch was inspired by Global Design Project.

I appreciate you visiting today! A Good Man will be great to use for masculine birthday cards also, and you can order it by clicking on the picture in my Product List. Have a great day celebrating Dads this Sunday!
