Don’t overlook the Stitched Nested Label die set, in the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. It’s bundled with the Free As A Bird stamp set, for a 10% discount. The Stampin’ Up! creators cleverly used “nested” in its name to go with the birds. Cute, huh?
Nested Die Set
Today, I’m showing the versatility of the dies, without a bird in sight. I used this weeks’s CAS(E) this sketch for inspiration. Instead of the diamond shape, I used the irregular hexagon shape of the Stitched Nested Label Dies.
From Thick Whisper White Cardstock, I used the smallest die to cut five hexagons, and a medium die to cut one hexagon. Then, I placed them on dimensionals, and arranged the five, small ones on a side panel that was embossed with the Subtle Textured embossing folder. I glued this panel (1 1/4″ X 5 1/4″) to a Thick Whisper White card base.
The large die was perfect for holding my sentiment from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set, “You are wonderful.” This is where I had fun choosing the colors of Stampin’ Write Markers that I wanted to use. They are: Berry Burst, Highland Heather, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Tranquil Tide.
I colored the the stamp, “You are wonderful,” in six colors, and then stamped on the Whisper White die cut. The small die cuts were stamped in the same manner with a stamp from Abstract Impressions. It seemed to go with the loops in “wonderful.”
For more color, and a bit of sparkle, I added five Glitter Enamel Dots. One set has retired, but I listed both (current and retired) enamel dots in my Product List.

The Timeless Texture stamp set has some great images for stamping, and doodling. This set will be retiring June 3rd, so order now while supplies last.
For today’s project I’m combining it with two continuing stamps sets, Crafting Forever and Flourishing Phrases.
Doodling
I began by stamping the three pens from Crafting Forever in Blueberry Bushel ink, fussy cutting just one, and coloring it with Stampin’ Write Markers.
The card base is Bermuda Bay, layered with Granny Apple Green and Whisper White Cardstock. I used the Rectangle Stitched Dies to cut the layers, which I love, because there’s no measuring involved!
I stamped the sentiment, “Just a note,” from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay ink to match the card base. And, I used two Timeless Texture stamps to stamp the doodles in Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel ink.

sending prayers
This week’s challenge at the Paper Players is a sketch by LeAnne.
To begin the challenge, I cut a piece of the Perennial Essence DSP into three sections to mimic the sketch. The DSP blends beautifully with Purple Posey (a new In Color), so I used that for the card base. Then, I layered the three cuts of DSP on Highland Heather Cardstock, giving them a 1/16 inch border.
I thought about adding some flowers, but the Detailed Dragonfly die was begging to be used. Dragonflies go with waterlilies, and the Sparkle Glimmer Paper was perfect to make them glisten.
All I needed was the sentiment, and I chose “sending prayers” from Itty Bitty Greetings. I stamped it in Gorgeous Grape ink on Purple Posey Cardstock, and cut it with a Bunch of Banners die. The sentiment seemed appropriate for this peaceful scene with the dragonflies sending up prayers.
The Detailed Dragonfly Dies and Bunch of Banners Dies are retiring June 3rd, so order while supplies last. The Perennial Essence DSP and Purple Posey Cardstock is in the new, 2019-2020 Catalog, and can be ordered June 4th.

It’s so much fun working with new product, and I couldn’t wait to open the pack of Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper. This design seems soothing to me, so I thought it would make a good sympathy card.
Perennial Essence Sympathy
I chose the new “In Color,” Pretty Peacock for the card base, because it blended in beautifully with the Perennial Essence DSP.
“Sympathy” was cut from Petal Pink paper from the same collection, using a Well Written Die, and layered for thickness.
I used two Layering Circles Dies to cut the shape on my design. The scalloped circle is the new Rococo Rose Cardstock, which I glued to the DSP, and raised the circle on Dimensionals.
I added leaves to complete the Freshly Made Sketch, which I used for inspiration. I embossed the Pretty Peacock leaves with Subtle Texture, and layered it for thickness.
For the last detail, I added Iridescent Sequins. It’s amazing how these sequins pick up the colors in the Perennial Essence DSP!

Good morning! Would you like to make a hedgehog that looks like this?
Well, not exactly. He’ll look like the one below, made with the Painted Harvest stamp set, a carry-over into the 2019-2020 catalog. The originator of turning a flower into a hedgehog is unknown, so please tell me, if you know. I am the creator of this hedgehog’s habitat, and making him an “O” in “YOU.”

I wanted to make a hedgehog card, because of the challenge at Fusion.
To make the hedgehog, I stamped the larger “flower” from Painted Harvest in Soft Suede, the smaller “flower” in Crumb Cake, and his face in Sahara Sand. Then, I fussy cut him with Paper Snips, and punched out his eyes and nose from Basic Black card stock.
TIP: The spacing of these three little dots makes a big difference.
The hand-held 1/16″ punch I used is in the Clearance Rack now, #134363.
I built his habitat with grass from the Basket Builder die set (retired) and variegated, green, Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (new in the 2019-2020 catalog). The same DSP was used for the letters, “Y” and “U,” which are from the retiring Large Letters die set.
The hedgehog was making me smile, so I found the sentiment in the Well Said stamp set, stamped it in Tuxedo Black ink, and used a Stitched Rectangle die for cutting.
The Whisper White background was cut with the largest Stitched Rectangle die, and glued to a Thick WW card base, after tying Linen Thread around it. I left the top of the grass free, so the hedgehog could peek through it.
I hope my hedgehog card made you smile. They really are cute, little, creatures! The Painted Harvest stamp set has many more options, and you can check it out in my Product List.

I am officially in love with the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set and Magnolia Memory Dies in the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. The countdown is on, when customers can order it June 4th!
3D Magnolia
The flower was the first thing I made for today’s card. I used the Magnolia Memory dies to cut the four parts of the flower from Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I brushed the edge of the petals with Petal Pink ink from a Sponge Dauber, and used a Light Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend to color the center.
I curled the petals with a Bone Folder for a nice, 3D effect.
The leaves are from the same die set, and colored with a Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend. I just noticed it says Light Old Olive in my Product List, which is incorrect.
The background for my magnolia was made with a border die that’s also in the Magnolia Memory die set. I began with a 5 1/4″ X 4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock , and lined up the die evenly all all four sides. This was a fun discovery that I anticipate using again and again!
Behind my fun, new shape, is a piece of Whisper White Cardstock that I stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink with the Crackle Paint Background Stamp.
For the sentiment, I chose, “The journey of life is best shared with a friend. We’ll get through this together.” It’s in the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set, and I stamped it in Mossy Meadow ink. I tied some Linen Thread around my exciting, new shape, and glued everything together.
My inspiration for the layout was from this week’s Global Design Project.
I was also inspired by our blooming Magnolia tree.
