Stampin’ Up’s Tropical Chic stamp set and dies take me to Hawaii, my favorite vacation destination.
Tropical Thank You
Today’s “clean & simple” thank you card began with a Thick Whisper White card base and a layer of Whisper White cardstock. I embossed the white layer with a Petal Pair embossing folder, and turned it over to use the debossed side.
The embossing folder is 2 1/4″ wide, which would be just right for this week’s CAS(E) this sketch challenge.
Next, I used a die from the Tropical die set to cut ferns from Granny Apple Green and Call Me Clover cardstock. Then, I stamped tropical flowers from the Tropical Chic stamp set in three colors of ink: Poppy Parade, Real Red, and Berry Burst, and cut them with their die.
The flowers were “stamped off” to give a softer look, which means I inked the stamp, stamped once on scratch paper, and twice for the image you see. Make sense?
I arranged the ferns and flowers atop the debossed section with liquid glue and dimensionals. Oh, prior to adding the ferns and flowers, I stamped “Thank you” in Black ink. And, there’s my “clean & simple” card that was “quick & easy.”

I’m in Easter card mode, so today’s project combines His Grace stamp set with Cross of Hope die set.
His Grace
I began by embossing a piece of Petal Promenade DSP with the Country Floral embossing folder. It was an easy way to get a variation of tone on the Petal Pink background. I chose Sahara Sand for the card base, which added a soft contrast.
The cross was made with a die from the Cross of Hope die set, and Wood Textures DSP. I layered it two times for thickness.
The scripture is from the His Grace stamp set, stamped in Soft Suede ink on Petal Pink cardstock. It fit nicely within a Layering Squares, scallop edged die, which I layered on a plain square of Sahara Sand.
The design was inspired by this week’s challenge at Global Design Project.
For some added color, I used a Bouquet Bunch die to make some flowers from Calypso Coral cardstock.
Before gluing everything together, I tied Braided Linen Trim around the larger embossed piece.
TIP: The Braided Trim does not go entirely around the embossed piece, but is taped on each end, on the backside. The knot was tied separately with a short piece of trim.

The Country Floral embossing folder has proven to be very popular. In fact, it’s carrying over to the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog that debuts in a few weeks! I get excited just thinking about the new catalog! For today’s project, I’ve combined Country Floral embossing with the Wonderful Romance stamp set, and Wonderful Floral dies.
Together
I began with a Sahara Sand card base, layered with a piece of Floral Romance DSP that I embossed with the Country Floral folder. Before setting the folder aside, I embossed a rectangle of Champagne Foil, which I raised on Foam Adhesive Strips for interest.
Continuing with shine, I heat embossed the sentiment on Sahara Sand cardstock, using Copper Powder, VersaMark, and the Heat Tool.
The sentiment, “Together is a wonderful place to be, ” is from the Wonderful Romance stamp set, which is being showcased at What Will You Stamp? this week.
The sketch was inspired by Fab Friday.
I added some detail with two dies from the Wonderful Floral die set; Mossy Meadow leaves and Fresh Fig sprigs.
Last, but not least, you’ll see a piece of stretched Copper Trim.

I’m always needing birthday cards, especially for those guys, so I grabbed the Candles &Confetti die set for today’s Paper Players sketch.
Eat Cake
This is Joanne’s fun sketch, and I can’t wait to see what everyone does with it!
I wanted this birthday card to be bright and festive, and decided on a Highland Heather card base. My father’s favorite color was purple, so I’m proclaiming it’s a masculine color.
Looking at the confetti die, I realized it was the perfect size to fit the middle section in the sketch, 3 1/2″ X 4″. I ran the Highland Heather cardstock through the Big Shot with the confetti die, which punched out all those cute shapes. They needed to stand out, so I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″, embossed it with the Oh My Stars embossing folder, and layered it on the card base. The white made a nice background for the Highland Heather confetti piece, don’t you think?
But, the focal point of my card would be the birthday cake from the Blow Out the Candles stamp set. My color idea was derived from the Gala Gingham Designer Series Paper colors. I chose Balmy Blue ink for the cake stand, which was made with two-step stamping. This means that one stamp was the outline and one stamp colored it. I relied on the Stamparatus to line them up perfectly. The cake was done in the same manner, with Daffodil Delight ink and Grapefruit Grove ink. There’s a picture of the stamp set in my Product List, which will make it easier to understand.
My delicious cake is sitting on a Highland Heather, Gala Gingham, tablecloth, 4 1/2″ X 1″. I layered it on Thick Whisper White cardstock, so it would have dimension without using dimensionals. The sentiment, “Eat cake and enjoy your day,” (music to my ears) was stamped in Black ink and cut with a Petals & More die. I placed it on dimensionals, and my card was almost complete.
As a final touch, I used the confetti die on a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock to get some confetti to fill in a few of the holes. Can you see them?

Today’s project is a masculine, thank you card, using the Painted Seasons stamp set. I added a video as an afterthought, if you’d like to see how I layered the “thanks.”
Masculine Thanks
My inspiration was the challenge at Fusion; the sketch, and the colors in the photo.
I began by stamping the flower from the Painted Seasons stamp set three times on Whisper White cardstock. Using Black ink, full strength for the first flower, and stamping off two times for the lighter shades.
The flowers have a die in the Four Seasons die set for cutting.
TIP: Find the largest petal to match with the die to speed up the cutting. Also, when you are stamping, stamp the flower in the same direction, so the large petal will be in the same spot.
There is also a pretty leaf in the set with a die to match. I stamped three of these in Black ink on Wood Textures DSP.
The colors in the Fusion photo helped me decide on a card base of Smoky Slate, topped with a piece of Wood Textures DSP, that I embossed with the Pinewood Planks folder.
To go along with the sketch, I used a piece of striped Neutrals 6X6 DSP for the banner. It’s a 2″ banner, easily made with the Banner Triple Punch.
I assembled my card, using glue and dimensionals, and attached the word, “thanks” from the Well Written die set.

Today’s project was inspired by the tree frogs in the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper, along with our frogs in the So Hoppy Together stamp set.
Tree Frog
It was also inspired by this week’s CAS(E) this sketch.
Have you seen a tree frog? Well, you have now! I stamped the frog in Memento Black ink on a piece of dotted, In Color 6X6″ DSP, and used a Hop Around die for cutting. Unfortunately, the dies have sold out, so, you’ll have to return to fussy cutting.
TIP: Order without hesitation when you see something you love.
The small tree frogs in the circle were cut from Animal Expedition DSP with a Stitched Shapes die. They were sitting on a nice branch, and I needed to find a large branch for my large frog. There it was in the Seasonal Layers die set, and I used a piece of Wood Textures DSP for cutting.
I added a leaf from Garden Green cardstock, using the Leaf Punch.
TIP: The circle, leaf, branch, and frog were all layered for thickness.
The Woodland embossing folder made an appropriate background for my tree frogs, which I embossed on Whisper White cardstock, and layered on a Thick Whisper White card base.
The last detail was adding the sentiment, which was a bit scary. I stamped “Hey…”, from the So Hoppy Together stamp set, directly on the card front. It stamped nicely in Garden Green ink, so, thankfully I didn’t have to cover an inky mistake.
