I mentioned on Wednesday’s blog post that I would be using the Leaf Collection Background Stamp in a different way. This happened quite by accident; one of those nice surprises. As I was beginning to clean the stamp with a Baby Wipe, I thought to lay the entire sheet on top of the stamp. Then, I picked up the Baby Wipe, and placed it on top of Basic White Cardstock, transferring the image. This curled the cardstock, which required pressing under a heavy book.

After it was no longer damp, and flat, I used the largest Deckled Rectangles Die for cutting. Then, I glued it to a Basic Beige card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Doesn’t it make an interesting background?

The bouquet was cut with a Flowers Of Beauty Die from Country Lace Designer Paper, and layered with cardstock for thickness. After gluing it to the card front, I added a double bow of Linen Thread.

The softness of card lended itself to a sympathy card. “With Sympathy” is one of many sentiments in the Unbounded Love Stamp Set, and I love the font. I stamped it in Crumb Cake Ink, and my “surprise background” card was complete.
