It’s week three for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, and I was ready! Looking at the designer’s wonderful samples, many ideas started popping into my head. I was thinking of a blue denim shirt with a pocket, paired with a butterfly stamp I received as a gift. The butterfly isn’t in the current catalog, but it’s new to me, and I was looking forward to using it. So, I chose the top row arcoss: Blue-Butterfly-Bow.
The Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper has a print just like the fabric I had in my mind. This slightly faded shirt might even be hanging in my closet. Now let’s talk about this cute pocket! The seamstress did a pretty good job of lining up the pattern, don’t you think? It comes from the Pocketful of Sunshine Bundle with stamps for the stitching and dies to cut out the pieces. This pocket tab says “THX,” but there are several choices in the set. It’s the perfect size for checks, money and gift cards, so I know I’ll be using it for future gift-giving occasions. Today it’s the landing spot for this beautiful butterfly, colored with the watercolor pencils shown below.
My last decision was the bow. I decided to “tie” it together with Linen Thread that would match the khaki (Crumb Cake) pants (card base). You should join in the fun at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge. It’s easy to find squares you can use; I ended up using stitching and yellow accidentally!
Love your card, but how did you fade the pocket?, is it part of the paper set? Or did you inked it? So cute.
Thank you Maria. The paper comes that way, and I just chose a section that was lighter. Amazingly easy. Thanks for asking.
Su, your card makes me smile!! I adore how you used this pattern paper as denim and that the “pocket” is perfectly faded out! And your little butterfly is the cutest perched up on top of the pocket!! You “tied” everything together with your twine…such a FUN card!! Thanks for playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week! XX
Thank you Shannon! I’m so glad I made you smile!
What an adorable card! The paper is just perfect for the pocket design and it’s always fun when you discover you managed to get in other elements without even thinking about it. Well done – thanks for playing along!
Thank you Teresa! I appreciate your comments, and I enjoyed playing along!
Su,
Such a cute card and oh yeah you must introduce me to your seamstress. I love the added touch of the butterfly. When I saw this set at OnStage I knew I just had to have this one. So happy you joined us this week over on the Tic Tac Toe challenge.
Hi Felicita,
My seamstress is named Miss Su, LOL. Thanks for reading my blog. It’s a pleasure to meet you!
What nice compliments! Thanks Rosanne!
What a terrific card, Su. Every element on it works so well. The butterfly adds the sweetest touch. And yes, the seamstress did a fabulous job lining up her pocket! Thanks for playing along this week at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.
Su this card is absolutely adorable! The decision to put that little tag on the pocket is genius!
Thank you Peggy! I’m glad you like it!
I have that faded shirt hanging in my closet also. Some shirts are just keepers. Love your card and money holder ones are so nice to keep in our statch.
We could be twins! Thanks Stella!
