Today’s gingham “Ribbon Board” technique resulted from two sources of inspiration. First of all, I wanted to thank Peggy Noe for the generous gift of gingham ribbon that she sent to her team. She is so sweet, and it was such a nice surprise to receive the package in my physical mailbox.

And, secondly, Freshly Made Sketches gave me an idea for how I would use the ribbon.

I recently signed up for Bloglovin’, and the FMS blog was delivered to my email, showing their sketch.

Bloglovin’ is a handy way to see blogs of interest all in one place. You might want to check it out for lots of inspiration.

Here’s my inspired project:

How To Make a Ribbon “board”

I wanted to showcase the gingham ribbon, and decided to wrap the ribbon around the rectangular shape in the sketch, hence, “ribbon board.”

I cut four pieces of ribbon to fit nicely around my 2″ X 3″ rectangle. Next, I placed four strips of Tear Tape approximately where the ribbon would go, taking the tape to the backside for securing the ends of the ribbon.

This “ribbon board” technique would be easy to do with different sizes of squares or rectangles, and any of the beautiful ribbon that Stampin’ Up! has to offer.

A Petal Pair embossing folder was used to make the 3/4″ inch strip of Whisper White for hanging the board by its bow.

I had to laugh looking at this picture, because it reminds me of a blouse from the 80s. Glad I added the two die cut branches from Petals & More, rather than buttons.

A die cut word, “thanks,” (retired) was double layered on the front of the card.

Completing the sentiment inside are words from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set (annual catalog).

The flower is from the Hold on to Hope stamp set (Occasions 2018 catalog. I stamped the flower in Night of Navy and cut it with its die in the bundle.

I hope I’ve inspired you to try  the “ribbon board” technique.

Have a great day!
