Today’s card is “Merry & Bright” with Santa flying across the moon.

Solar Eclipse Santa
The night sky is from Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series paper, and I used a Layering Squares die with the Big Shot to cut a square “eclipsed” section. After cutting the square from the DSP, I cut two more from Night of Navy cardstock to layer the square for thickness.
Then, I glued the 5 1/4″ X 4″ Twinkle Twinkle DSP to a Thick Whisper White card base, and replaced my cut out square on dimensionals.
I had to laugh, when I realized I was using the “eclipse technique” with a solar eclipse scene.
I love seeing Santa’s silhouette flying across the moon. This wonderful stamp is in the Hearts Come Home stamp set, and I’ve used it many times. I made the moon by using a Sponge Dauber with So Saffron ink on Whisper White cardstock. Then, I cut the moon with a Layering Circles die, and layered it with So Saffron cardstock for thickness.
Once I had my moon, I used the Stamparatus to stamp Santa and his reindeer with Night of Navy ink. I then placed Santa’s portion over the square, and raised the reindeer portion on dimensionals.
The sentiment, “Merry & Bright” is also in Hearts Come Home stamp set, which I stamped in Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock. I used a Stitched Shapes square die for cutting, turning it to make a rectangle.
My inspiration for today’s card is from Freshly Made Sketches:
