For my first Easter card of 2021, I was excited to use a new stamp set, Springtime Joy. You can see the entire set in my Product List below.
Isn’t this lamb adorable? Some of you might be too young, but I remember the ventriloquist, Shari Lewis, and her famous puppet, Lamb Chop, so that’s what I named her.

Lamb Chop
Lamb Chop is very shy, but agreed to let me feature her on my card, if I did all the talking, and let her quietly appear. I stamped her in Memento Black ink on Basic White Cardstock, then fussy cut along the lines, and placed her on Dimensionals.
Prior to attaching her to the card front, I colored her headpiece and hooves with Stampin’ Blends in four colors: Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Just Jade, and Smoky Slate.
For Lamb Chop’s background, I applied a stenciling technique, using a piece of Forever Gold Laser-Cut Paper as a stencil. Then, I added Flirty Flamingo Ink with a Blending Brush on top of Basic White Cardstock. After I was happy with the amount of ink, I removed the stencil, and cut the paper to 3″ X 4 1/2″. Then, I backed it with True Love Designer paper, 1/8″ larger, giving it a 1/16″, black & white border.
Prior to gluing my art piece to the Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) I embossed it with the largest Stitched With Whimsy Die. This is such a simple way to add a detailed border. Even Lamb Chop softly said she loved it!
Something to not overlook is the sentiment. The Word Wishes Dies, cut from Silver Foil, say “Happy Easter,” in a big way. The first picture shows off the shine.
I was inspired by the colors at the Paper Players challenge.
