I just received Stampin’ Up’s new Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Paper, and I couldn’t wait to put it to use. I ended up with a “two-for-one;” two cards from one section of Designer Series Paper.
Card Number One:

Laser-Cut Blooms
Card Number Two:

Stenciled Blooms
I began with card number two, by cutting a section from the Laser-Cut DSP, and snipping the pattern free from the frame.
Next, I held the floral pattern (stencil) in place on Whisper White Cardstock, and used Sponge Daubers to apply ink to the flowers and greenery in two colors: Pineapple Punch and Granny Apple Green.
“Thanks” was cut using a Well Written Die from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, colored with a Sponged Dauber and Night of Navy Ink.
My colors were inspired by Global Design Project.
I chose Granny Apple Green for the card base, layered with Whisper White Cardstock that I embossed with the new, Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder.
My number one, Laser-Cut card, developed from the ink colored, “stencil.” I placed it on the same Eyelet Lace embossed layer, on a Granny Apple Green card base.
“Friend” is also from the Well Written Die Set, and colored in Night of Navy Ink.
I’ve always liked the look of stenciling, and it’s a fun way to use this Laser-Cut DSP. Getting two cards from the process is a bonus!

Hi, what die did you use to create the flower in the first card?
Hi Mary,
It’s just the laser-cut paper, no die.
When I first saw your card on Pinterest I said to myself. “how did I miss that die”? LOL thanks for your beautiful samples
Beautiful! Using the laser cut piece was a stencil, how many times do you think I could use it? I would love to make this for swap cards and is need to make 15. Do you think the laser cut would hold up for that many? Thanks for sharing and in advance for the advice!!
Hi Crystal,
My guess is that it would hold up. Plus, there is more than one in the pack. I’m glad you like my card. Thanks!
Beautiful cards, Su. I love the laser paper and your coloring is great. Both cards are very pretty. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you, Hilda! You have a wonderful day also!
Two beautiful cards. I don’t always comment, but I appreciate your blog and all the time you spend creating lovelies.
Thank you, Stella! I love knowing that you’re here!
