My husband often asks for masculine birthday cards to take to work for his employees, so I like to always have a stash on hand. I was excited to see the True Gentleman Suite in the new Occasions catalog, pp 44-45.

True Gentleman Hexagon Birthday Card

This Suite has a great selection of Designer Series Paper, named True Gentleman, and a stamp set (Truly Tailored) to coordinate. And, the really fun part is the Tailored Tag Punch for cutting the cute sentiments. I chose “Lookin’ Sharp” to go with the paper with glasses. Isn’t that great?

I paired the elongated Hexagons Punch with our Hexagons embossing folder, so this card has hexagons all over the place. The card base is Night of Navy, and the embossed layer is Very Vanilla.

I used the Tailored Tag Punch on three different patterns of the True Gentleman paper, along with two solid Night of Navy, two solid Tranquil Tide, and one solid Very Vanilla that I stamped with the sentiment. The punching made this quick & easy.

You can see how I glued the solid pieces behind the patterned hexagons to add color and a finished look. It also added “body” for popping up on dimensionals.

The original inspiration for this entire card was inspired by the design at CAS(E) this sketch. Cool sketch, don’t you agree?
