Country Woods Designer Paper is perfect for masculine cards, and that’s how I began today’s Father’ Day Card. I used the pattern, with all the colors, to make the large pinwheel. The Round We Go Die makes this 3D shape easy and fun to do.
Father’s Day Pinwheel
For the background, I used a second, Country Woods pattern, 4″ X 5 1/4″, to layer on a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This pattern was given extra texture with the Timber Embossing Folder. Prior to gluing the large pinwheel, I added two more pinwheels, cut from a third pattern of Country Woods DSP. This was cut at the same time, producing the two shapes.
Just for fun, I topped the pinwheel with a Country Birdhouse bird, cut from a 4th pattern of Country Woods DSP. After stamping the bird in Memento Black Ink, I used a Country Birdhouse Die for cutting, and layered the bird with cardstock for thickness.
“Happy Father’s Day” is from the Trusty Tools Stamp Set, cut with a Hearts & Hugs Die. I stamped it in Misty Moonlight Ink on the DSP, and attached the label with Dimensionals.
