I was feeling adventuresome this morning, and wanted to make a messy, Valentine collage.

Valentine Love Notes Collage

The idea began when I saw the theme challenge at Paper Players, “Love Notes.”

With a theme like “Love Notes,” I couldn’t resist using the sentiment “Love Note” that retired last year (Sealed with Love stamp set). I stamped it in Basic Black Ink and cut its frame with that wonderful, sentiment die in the Petals & More set.

I found the lay-out for my collage at Global Design Project.

I decided the card base would be Berry Burst cardstock to match the Berry Burst Ribbon that Lisa Pretto surprised me with in the mail. I was anxious to use the ribbon, and knew it could be part of my collage. I scraped it with a pin for a nice, distressed look. By the way, this was really fun!

Next, I inked up the Sheet Music Background stamp with Berry Burst, stamped it on Thick Whisper White cardstock, and cut it with a heart die in the Lots to Love Box die set. For more music, I die cut a Treble Clef from Silver Foil, and glued it to the heart.  (Musical Instruments die set from Holiday).

I chose a Whisper White mat that I embossed with the Simple Stripes Folder to mimic sheet music.

Before gluing everything down, I cut the Basic Black flowers with two dies from the Petals & More set, and punched a black border with the Ticket Tear punch.

The last touch was the Glitter Enamel Dot.

Thank you, Lisa Pretto, for the ribbon. This collage wouldn’t be the same without it! I must say, it’s held “neatly” in place with Tear Tape, and the bow is on a Glue Dot.
