A Good Man, Relaxing

The timing is perfect for using the new stamp set, A Good Man. With Father’s Day around the corner, and summer birthdays, it’s just what I needed for masculine cards.

Relax!

I began by stamping this relaxing man in Memento Black Ink on Watercolor Paper. Then, I colored him with Stampin’ Blends: Ivory for his skin, Light Balmy Blue for his shorts, and Light Crumb Cake for his hat. His canvas chair is Light Pineapple Punch and Light Pumpkin Pie. He fit within a Rectangle Stitched die, which made cutting easy.

For his background, I used a second, Rectangle Stitched die to cut a piece of Balmy Blue Cardstock. To add some interest, I topped this with some Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut DSP. This is retiring, but if you miss out, there is new Shimmer Laser-Cut DSP, #149611.

After tying some Linen Thread around the bottom, I glued this to a Sahara Sand card base.

The sentiment, “Relax your way,” was stamped in Memento Black Ink on Watercolor Paper, and cut with a third, Rectangle Stitched Die.

“A Good Man” is relaxing on vacation, which was designed to fit Ann’s theme for this week’s Paper Player’s challenge.

Add this masculine stamp set, A Good Man, to your list. It’s available for ordering in just a couple days, June 4th!

Thanks for stopping by! Now, check out more summer vacation themed cards, and come play along!

Presents!

I was inspired by two challenges:

CAS(E) this sketch.

And, Seize the Birthday, with “presents” as the topping.

The first thing I thought of when seeing the sketch was the Stitched Rectangle Die Set. After cutting the five rectangles from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, I decided they would be really cute birthday presents, if I wrapped them in Designer Series Paper.

The Bird Ballad DSP has a striped pattern that gave me the colors for the packages and bows: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Pool Party. The Daffodil Delight package is from Bird Ballad DSP, and the Pool Party and Calypso Coral packages are from Subtles 6X6 DSP. I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut the DSP, and glued the “wrappings” on top of the Thick Whisper White Cardstock.

The bow is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set, and cut with its die from the Bouquet Bunch Die Set. I used the same coordinating ink colors for stamping the bows.

“Happy Birthday” is from the Piece of Cake Stamp Set, which I stamped in Memento Black Ink.

The background is Whisper White, because I wanted the presents to stand out, but I embossed it with the Subtle Texture Embossing Folder for a little interest.

The presents and sentiment were popped up on Dimensionals, and my birthday card was complete!

Speaking of presents, Stampin’ Up! has announced a SALE on “Last-Chance” Products. Clicking on the sign below takes you to my store where you can see the list, and start shopping.

Bee-U-tiful

And, the good news is, Stampin’ Up is having a sale, where some of the product on today’s card is discounted. Clicking this picture takes you to my store, where you’ll see pictures of the products. Keep in mind, the favorites will sell out quickly, so don’t delay ordering.

Back to my project. I’m playing along with Global Design Project, where the theme is “birds, bees, and butterflies.

I began with my favorite bee from the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set, stamping it in Memento Black Ink on Daffodil Delight Cardstock. Then, the wonderful, bee die from the Detailed Dragonfly Die Set was used for cutting.

Next, I cut the “U” (Large Letters die set) and “YOU” (Celebrate You die set) from Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper, and double layered them for thickness.

To match the Gingham Gala letters, I chose Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock for the card base, and a larger gingham check for the first layer. The top layer is Whisper White Cardstock, embossed with the Hexagon folder, to make the bee feel at home.

Before gluing the honeycomb to the gingham, I tied LemonLime Twist, Organdy Ribbon around the bottom.

“T-I-F-U-L” was made with the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set, by stamping the letters in Memento Black ink on Whisper White Cardstock, hand cutting, and placing on Mini-Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my favorite retiring products.

Yep, I saw the Detailed Dragonfly Dies, The Celebrate You Dies, and the Large Letter Dies in the discounted list!

Thank you for visiting, and have fun shopping!

Gingham Flower Meets Button Button Embossing

How do you like my whimsical, gingham flower? Yesterday it was a Whisper White magnolia, and today it’s a  Highland Heather & Balmy Blue gingham flower.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Gingham DSP, Magnolia Memory Dies, Button Button embossing, Itty Bitty Greetings, Butterfly Punch; #gingham #whimsical #magnolia #magnoliamemory #stitchedshapes #buttonbutton #ginghamgala #butterflypunch #butterflygala #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #stampinup

Gingham Flower

I used the Magnolia Memory Dies to cut the petals, Daffodil Delight center, and Lemon Lime Twist leaves. A Bone Folder made curling the petals easy.

The Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper is retiring, so order before June 3rd. If you miss out, there is gingham in the 6X6 packs of DSP, which you can see on page168 of the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog. Lemon Lime Twist is the only color that is retiring, and you could use Granny Apple Green in its place.

The border die in the Magnolia Memory set was used to cut the front of the Thick Whisper White card base. Then, I embossed it with the new Button Button (who’s got the button?) embossing folder. Buttons and gingham go together, don’t they?

To accentuate the buttons, I stamped the sentiment, “hey, friend,” on a circle that was cut with a Layering Circle die. It’s from Itty Bitty Greetings, stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on Whisper White Cardstock. It’s layered on Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock, cut with a Stitched Shapes die.

I layered a piece of Lemon Lime Twist gingham on the inside, with a white, Stitched Shapes square for writing a message.

After tying Whisper White Baker’s twine around the top, I stamped a small butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set with Grapefruit Grove ink on the same color gingham paper, and cut it with the Butterfly Duet Punch.

Thank you for taking a peek at my whimsical flower!

There’s lots of gingham going on at TGIF, my inspiration for today’s project.

Sneak Peek: Stitched Nested Label Dies

Don’t overlook the Stitched Nested Label die set, in the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. It’s bundled with the Free As A Bird stamp set, for a 10% discount. The Stampin’ Up! creators cleverly used “nested” in its name to go with the birds. Cute, huh?

By Su Mohr for cts; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Stitched Nested Label Dies, Rooted In Nature, Abstract Impressions, Stampin' Write Markers; #stampinwritemarkers #rootedinnature #stitchednestedlabeldies #abstractimpressions #subtletecture #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy stamping

Nested Die Set

Today, I’m showing the versatility of the dies, without a bird in sight. I used this weeks’s CAS(E) this sketch for inspiration. Instead of the diamond shape, I used the irregular hexagon shape of the Stitched Nested Label Dies.

From Thick Whisper White Cardstock, I used the smallest die to cut five hexagons, and a medium die to cut one hexagon. Then, I placed them on dimensionals, and arranged the five, small ones on a side panel that was embossed with the Subtle Textured embossing folder. I glued this panel (1 1/4″ X 5 1/4″) to a Thick Whisper White card base.

The large die was perfect for holding my sentiment from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set, “You are wonderful.” This is where I had fun choosing the colors of Stampin’ Write Markers that I wanted to use. They are: Berry Burst, Highland Heather, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Tranquil Tide.

I colored the the stamp, “You are wonderful,” in six colors, and then stamped on the Whisper White die cut. The small die cuts were stamped in the same manner with a stamp from Abstract Impressions. It seemed to go with the loops in “wonderful.”

For more color, and a bit of sparkle, I added five Glitter Enamel Dots. One set has retired, but I listed both (current and retired) enamel dots in my Product List.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some versatility with the Stitched Nested Label Dies. Thank you for stopping by!

Doodling with Timeless Texture Stamp Set

The Timeless Texture stamp set has some great images for stamping, and doodling. This set will be retiring June 3rd, so order now while supplies last.

For today’s project I’m combining it with two continuing stamps sets, Crafting Forever and Flourishing Phrases.

By Su Mohr for WWYS? Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Timeless Texture stamp set, Flourishing Phrases stamp set, Crafting Forever stamp set; #notecards #crafting #handmadecards #handcrafted #timelesstexture #flourishingphrases #stampinup #cardchallenges #doodling

Doodling

I began by stamping the three pens from Crafting Forever in Blueberry Bushel ink, fussy cutting just one, and coloring it with Stampin’ Write Markers.

The card base is Bermuda Bay, layered with Granny Apple Green and Whisper White Cardstock. I used the Rectangle Stitched Dies to cut the layers, which I love, because there’s no measuring involved!

I stamped the sentiment, “Just a note,” from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay ink to match the card base. And, I used two Timeless Texture stamps to stamp the doodles in Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel ink.

We are featuring this retiring stamp set at What Will You Stamp? We would love for you to join us by placing your creation in our gallery.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week!

P.S. I forgot to picture the Stitched Rectangle Dies in my Product List, my “go to” dies these days, order number 148551.
