This month, the Kreators Blog Hop is all about grads and dads. I chose to feature Stampin’ Up’s! new 2019-2020 stamp set, A Good Man. It’s perfect for Father’s Day cards, and I love the artistically sketched images.

Loved
I began by stamping the father and son in Memento Black Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I colored their skin with an Ivory Stampin’ Blend, and the son’s hair with Light Crumb Cake. Rather than continue with Stampin’ Blends, I decided to do some “paper-piecing.”
I stamped and fussy cut their pants and shirts from four different scraps of Designer Series Paper, and glued them in place. I enjoy this “paper-piecing” technique, because it brings back wonderful, childhood, memories of playing with paper dolls.

Next, I used a Stitched Rectangle Die for cutting, and added a 1/16″ border of Soft Suede Cardstock.
For the background, I used the Corrugated Embossing Folder on a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock, and layered this on a Seaside Spray card base. This blue is gorgeous, and just might be my favorite, new, In Color.
Before gluing the corrugated layer to the card base, I tied some Old Olive Linen Thread around the bottom.

The sentiment, “I grew up loved,” was stamped in Soft Suede Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and cut with a Stitched Nested Label Die. “Thanks to you” is on the inside, along with two hearts, also in A Good Man stamp set.
The last step was decorating the envelope flap with retired DSP, Tranquil Textures.

Here are two more cards I made, using A Good Man stamp set.

Today’s card was especially fun, because my first-born daughter was helping me.

Daisy Heart
I had completed the daisy heart, but she helped me decide how to implement Anne Marie’s three required colors.

The daisy heart was made with a heart die from the Be Mine Stitched die set, and the Daisy Punch.
First, I cut the heart from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and punched six daisies from regular Whisper White Cardstock. Next, I glued three of the flowers to the heart, trimming the petals to the shape of the heart. Then, I added a top layer on dimensionals, and trimmed again.
The flower centers are from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set, which I stamped in Daffodil Delight Ink.

My daughter and I chose Highland Heather for the card base, with a layer of Whisper White, cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die.
We added a strip of Gingham that has a scalloped edge, made with a Be Mine Stitched Die. If you look at the picture in my Product List, it’s the die on the bottom.
I gave it texture with the Subtle Texture Embossing Folder, so it would look like fabric.

“Love You” is from the Well Written Die Set, which I cut from Granny Apple Green Cardstock.

This is such a pretty color combination, don’t you think? The Paper Players Designers are excited to share their ideas, so check them out.
Thank you for stopping by, and remember, everything is now available from the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog! I appreciate you shopping at my store!

Today’s project is a birthday card, featuring the new Button Button Embossing Folder, and Birthday Wishes butterflies.

Button Butterflies
I began by making a frame of Whisper White Cardstock with a Stitched Rectangles Die. Then, I embossed it with Button Button.

Can you see how I was inspired by this week’s CAS(E) this sketch?

I’m also sharing with Seize the Birthday.

The new Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set provided the butterflies and sentiment. I stamped the butterflies in six colors of ink: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, and Pumpkin Pie.
Next, I punched them out with the Butterfly Duet Punch, and placed them on Mini-Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I used Memento Black Ink with the Stamparatus, making certain “Birthday Wishes” was properly placed. Unfortunately, I got black ink on my finger, which ended up on my Button Button frame. Accidents happen! But, guess what……..it wasn’t glued down, so I was able to turn it over. You are seeing the debossed side, and it’s okay. Right?

It’s so much fun playing with new product. The Button Button Embossing Folder is available now, and can be ordered at my store. It’s pictured as a red rubber stamp in my Product List, but it’s clear in reality.
Thanks for stopping by!

I needed to make a very important card today; a Father’s Day card for my daughter to give her Dad this Sunday. I’m delighted that she comes to “my store” for her greeting card needs.

Father-daughter
Knowing that my husband’s favorite color is Crumb Cake, I began with a Crumb Cake card base, layering it with Whisper White Cardstock that I stamped with Crumb Cake ink and the Buffalo Check Background Stamp.
Next, I cut a 2″ wide piece of Whisper White Cardstock, punched the end with the Banner Triple Punch, and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.
Linen Thread was tied around the top of these layers, and glued to the card base.

My focal point is the father and daughter from A Good Man Stamp set. How precious is this!
I stamped the image in Memento Black Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and fussy cut with Paper Snips. They were fun to color with Stampin’ Blends in the seven colors listed in my Product List.
After coloring, they took their place atop Dimensionals.

The sentiment, “I grew up loved,” is also from A Good Man Stamp Set, along with the sentiment inside, “thanks to you.” I stamped both in Soft Suede Ink, and cut the card front sentiment with a Stitched Rectangle Die.

My sketch was inspired by Global Design Project.

I appreciate you visiting today! A Good Man will be great to use for masculine birthday cards also, and you can order it by clicking on the picture in my Product List. Have a great day celebrating Dads this Sunday!

This is an exciting day! It’s finally here, June 4th, the day we get to order everything from the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalog! So, I’ll show you, Free As A Bird, my favorite set, that I was able to order early, as a demonstrator.
Today’s project could qualify as #simplestamping, minus a couple of details.

Rainbow Birds
I simply stamped the “blotch” stamp from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set on Whisper White Cardstock in seven colors. I stamped horizontally in this order: Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, and Highland Heather.

My idea for rainbow birds was from the Fusion Challenge.

The bird stamp is in the new, Free As A Bird Stamp Set, which I stamped in Memento Black Ink on top of my rainbow of colors. Then, I stamped the sentiment, “The world needs more of you,” in the same black ink.

You could stop here, but I added a layer of Basic Black Cardstock, and some Iridescent Sequins for some extra pizzazz.

Thank you for visiting!
Rremember, everything in the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalog is available today, June 4th, noon (MT)!
A digital copy of the new catalog is under my picture; just click on it, download the PDF, and scroll through the pages. Hint: Writing the item numbers down makes it easy to place your order. 🙂

The What Will You Stamp? challenge is featuring the Tropical Chic Stamp Set this week.

Tropical Chic
The stamp set has great coordinating dies (see my Product List), and I’m glad that this set is carrying over to the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalog.

Fab Friday’s colors were perfect for what I had in mind, and it looks like Amanda (Fab Fri designer) had the same idea.

I began with a Soft Sea Foam card base, topped with Whisper White Cardstock that was cut with the fabulous, 2 1/2″ X 2 1/2″ Tropical Die.
Then, I backed the “window” with Pear Pizzazz Cardstock, and glued it to the card base.

Next, I stamped two flowers in Flirty Flamingo ink on Shimmery White Cardstock, and cut them with their Tropical Die. The flowers have a subtle sparkle in person.
I glued the “stamped-off” flower flat, and placed the “full strength” flower on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, “You are the greatest,” was stamped in Black Memento Ink next to the flowers.
At the bottom of the card front, I stamped the vertical lines, using another stamp from the Tropical Chic Stamp Set.

For a final “tropical” touch, I added a row of tiny pearls.

I completed the card with Whisper White Cardstock and a palm frond on the inside, and a decorated envelope.

Thank you for visiting me today. I enjoyed using this soft color palette withTropical Chic, but it’s great in bright colors too! Keep scrolling to see my Product list, and thank you for shopping!
