Occasions 2019 Sneak Peek~Meant To Be Bundle

Today is a sneak peek into one of my favorite bundles in the 2019 Occasions catalog, Meant To Be.

I love hearts and Valentine’s Day, which explains my desire to make Valentine cards. How did this love begin? Valentine’s Day was my mother’s favorite holiday, next to Christmas, and she surrounded herself with hearts, year-round. They were in many forms: wood, rock, paintings, jewelry. I think she truly understood the essence of a heart, and now, in heaven, she has full comprehension.

Meant To Be

My project began with Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper in the color of Pool Party, where heart constellations appear in the heavens.

The sentiment, “Meant To Be,” is in the Meant To Be stamp set, which I stamped in Granny Apple Green. Next, I gave the heavens some texture with the Subtle Textured embossing folder. Then, I adhered this to a layer of Granny Apple Green cardstock, 1/8″ larger, giving it a 1/16″ border.

I chose Thick Whisper White for the card base, and embossed it with the Oh My Stars embossing folder.

I added more hearts in Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut with a  Be Mine Stitched die. You end up with 21 little, cut out hearts, but I used the “frame.” I colored one of the hearts with Light and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends, and placed it in the frame. I think Mama will like this.

My colors were inspired by the challenge at Global Design Project:

Thank you for visiting today. I’ll be making many more Valentines using this new, Meant To Be bundle. Come back to order it on Jan 3rd! Click on the picture in my Product List to see details on the bundle.

Butterfly Gala On My Mind

Sometimes you can have so much of a new thing, you don’t know where to begin. Do you know the feeling?  Sitting among my 2019 Stampin’ Up! goodies, with the Butterfly Gala stamp set in my hands,  I realized I needed a focus. I turned to the challenge at CAS(E) this sketch:

I envisioned a Balmy Blue, Bokeh Dot sky in the center, providing a window for a beautiful butterfly.

Butterfly Window

I stamped the Bokeh Dot rectangle in Balmy Blue ink on Thick Whisper cardstock. There’s a Rectangle Stitched die, a spec smaller than the Bokeh Dot stamp, that I used for cutting.

The butterfly is from one of the black and white designs in the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, which I cut with the Butterfly Duet Punch. In fact, it’s the  paper beneath my card I used for photographing.

I chose two Stampin’ Blends for coloring the butterfly; Light Balmy Blue, and Granny Apple Green.

For the background, I used a black and white pin dot that is on the backside of a butterfly pattern. I found the striped, corners in the Botanical Butterfly DSP also, which were a “must” for the sketch.

The sentiment, “You’ve been on my mind,” is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, and it fits perfectly in a Rectangle Stitched die, inside the Bokeh Dot window.

Thank you, friends, for taking time during this busy season to visit my blog. My Product List is below, where you can see details on the 2019 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration items by clicking on the pictures. They are available now to demonstrators, and January 3rd to customers.

Lasting Lily Sympathy Card

Today’s project is a Sneak Peek at a Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Lasting Lily.

By Su Mohr; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Lasting Lily stamp set, Organdy Ribbon, Layering Ovals dies; #saleabration #2019occasions #lastinglily #organdyribbon #free #handmadecards #sympathycards

Lasting Lily Sympathy

What is Sale-A-Bration, anyway? It’s Stampin’ Up’s annual offering of FREE stamp sets and products with qualifying orders. It begins Jan. 3rd, and lasts until the end of March, so you have three months to take advantage of these fabulous, FREE products. This beautiful Organdy Ribbon is another one of the items in Sale-A-Bration. I loved it in White, and now look at these wonderful colors! You get 5 spools containing 5 yards each, with a $50.00 order. Amazing!

Today’s sympathy card was quite easy to make, for two reasons. First of all, I did a CASE (copy and selectively edit) from the Sale-A-Bration brochure, page 18. Secondly, the detailed stamps did all the work. I stamped the two flowers in So Saffron ink, and the stems in Pear Pizzazz ink, on Whisper White cardstock. I trimmed this to size, and layered on a Mossy Meadow card base.

The stamp set has numerous sentiments, and I stamped the simple, “With Sympathy,” in Mossy Meadow ink on Whisper White cardstock. It fit nicely in the scalloped Layering Ovals die. Lastly, I attached a piece of the Balmy Blue Organdy Ribbon with a Glue Dot beneath the sentiment, which is raised on Dimensionals.

In case you’re wondering about the gorgeous paper beneath my card, it’s from the Floral Romance DSP in the new 2019 Occasions catalog.

Thanks for stopping by today. I’m having so much fun with the new goodies, I can’t wait to order more Jan 3rd! Start making your list, so you can come back and shop at my store!

Tea Together Steeped in Love

Christmas cards have been mailed, giving me time to play with fabulous new products from the Occasions 2019 catalog. Today, I felt like a warm cup of tea.

By Su Mohr for FMS367; Click READ or Visit to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Tea Together stamp set, Tea Time dies, Floral Romance DSP, Rectangle Stitched dies, Well Written dies; #tea #teapots #teatogether #lovecards #romanticcards #friendshipcards #handmadecards #2019occasions

Steeped in Love

The teapot is from the Tea Together stamp set, which I stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock. It is “painted” with a piece of patterned vellum from Floral Romance Designer Series Paper. I cut the teapot and patterned vellum with a FREE Tea Time die. This die set is one of the Sale-A-Bration items that is FREE with a 100.00 order, and was at the top of my list.

TIP: The vellum is adhered to the teapot with tiny dots of liquid glue behind the leaves and flowers.

Now that I had my teapot, I decided on a background of Fresh Fig from Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper, and layered this on a Sahara Sand card base. I built a frame for my teapot with wood textured paper from Floral Romance DSP, and Rectangle Stitched dies. The frame was layered for sturdiness, and placed on Adhesive Foam Strips for dimension.

TIP: The teapot has doubled dimensionals, so it’s supported at the same height.

I really had fun with the vellum details. This lacey, Petal Pink pattern is also from Floral Romance DSP. The “love steam” coming from the spout was cut with a die from the Well Written die set. Also from that set, is the floral sprig coming from the sentiment. The sentiment, “Love is a warm cup of Tea,” is from the Tea Together stamp set. It is stamped in Fresh Fig ink on Whisper White cardstock, covered with vellum, and cut with a Layering Circles die.

My inspiration for the layout is from Freshly made Sketches.

I missed out on previous Stampin’ Up! sets with drinking vessels, so I plan to have lots of fun with this one. It’s available to demonstrators now, and customers Jan. 3, 2019.

Just click and shop from my Product List below. Thanks, have a great day!

Happy Tails Masculine Birthday Card

The Happy Tails stamp set from the new Occasions 2019 catalog makes me a very happy stamper! My followers know how much I love the Cat Punch, so now I have a dog to play with.

By Su Mohr for Fab Fri; Featuring: Happy Tails stamp set, Dog Punch, Rectangle Stitched dies, Well Written dies; #occasions2019 #saleabration2019 #happytails #rectanglestitcheddies #dogpunch #handmadecards #masculinecards #birthdaycards

Happy Tails Dog Punch

I couldn’t wait to stamp this puppy in Soft Suede ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock. He comes with two stamps for spots; large and small, and I used the Stamparatus for perfect placement. Don’t you think we should call him Spot? It’s such an original name, LOL. Spot loved being punched out with his very own punch, and couldn’t wait to see what was next.

Spot needed a collar to settle him down, so I stamped one in Cherry Cobbler ink, and sat him in a circle of Pool Party cardstock. It was once solid, but Spot chewed a hole in it, so I evened it out with a Stitched Shapes circle die. He promised to be good, if I raised the circle on dimensionals, so I did.

Stitched Shapes are very popular, and Stampin Up! blessed us with a whole set of Rectangle Stitched dies in the new Occasions 2019 catalog! I used one for a Mossy Meadow layer, and one for a Pool Party layer, which are layered on a Shaded Spruce card base. This die set will make layering so much fun!

If you couldn’t guess, Spot is saying “Happy Birthday” (Ruff! Ruff!). I decided to repeat it in human language on the inside, using the Well Written die set, also in the Occasions 2019 catalog. I used Shaded Spruce for the words on Pool Party cardstock, cut with a Rectangle Stitched die.

I thought about adding something to the front, but wanted to keep it clean and simple for this week’s Global design project. Plus, clean & simple is good for masculine cards, and this one qualifies.

And, you can see that I found my colors at Fab Friday.

I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek of Occasions 2019. Clicking on the pictures in my Product List below will give you the details on the items I used today. The first four are from the Occasions 2019 catalog, which demonstrators are able to purchase now, and customers Jan 3rd.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Pals December 2018 Blog Hop “All That Sparkles & Shines”

Welcome to the Pals monthly blog hop. We’re so glad you’re here! December is time for glitz and bling with  “All that Sparkles & Shines”. Today we feature projects that sparkle or shine. Maybe even a little of both.

You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

The first thing I grabbed for this month’s “Sparkles & Shines” project was our Sparkle Glimmer Paper. I’m not able to photograph its brilliance, but trust me, it “sparkles & shines!”

By Su Mohr for Pals Blog Hop December 2018; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Merry Christmas die set, Christmas Bulb Builder Punch, In the Woods die set, Sparkle Glimmer Paper, Galvanized metallic Paper, Wood Textures DSP; #palsbloghop #christmascards #holidaycards #handmadecards #sparklesandshines #woodtextures #christmasbulbpunch #sparkleglimmerpaper #happyholidays #palsdecemberbloghop

Sparkles and Shines

I envisioned Christmas bulbs strung across my card, so used the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch to punch several, sparkly, bulbs.

The bulb’s sockets and wire were made with Galvanized metallic Paper, which has a nice shine to it. I used the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch for the sockets, and a long, thin, wavy die from In the Woods die set for the wire. I ran it through the Big Shot twice, and then used Paper Snips, to make it this narrow.

Since I like the contrast between sparkle and wood, I made the background from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. The wood color I chose blends well with the Gray Granite card base.

Now, for the words, which I found in the Merry Christmas die set. I cut “Happy” from the same Sparkle Glitter Paper as the bulbs. I was able to thread the Galvanized Metallic wire through the loops of “Happy,” because both papers are strong and flexible enough to do this. Then, I glued the ends of the wire, leaving “Happy” free.

Next, I carved (die cut) “Holidays” from the Wood Textures DSP.  Using the “eclipse technique,” I gave it two layers of Gray Granite cardstock for thickness, and replaced it in its hole. Can you see the “i” is dotted with Sparkle Glimmer Paper?

For a touch of traditional red and green, I cut four, small, pine boughs (Night Owl die set) from Garden Green cardstock, and glued them on the ends of the wire.  As a finishing touch, each pair was adorned with a sparkly, Red Rhinestone Berry.

Thanks so much for hopping by. I really appreciate you visiting my blog.
