Look who found some mistletoe! It’s the sweet, stylized bird from the Bird & Blooms die set.

Cardinal finds mistletoe
It’s easy to turn him into a cardinal by using Cherry Cobbler cardstock for cutting. He is perched on his birdhouse, which is a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

The birdhouse is raised on Foam Adhesive Strips, and attached to a Crumb Cake card base. I layered the birdhouse for thickness before attaching, and cut a hole with a Layering Ovals die.

The mistletoe is Old Olive cardstock and Mossy Meadow cardstock, cut with a die from the In The Woods die set. The Cherry Cobbler cardstock berries are punched with a Hand-held Punch that is on the Clearance Rack. The mistletoe is tied with Linen Thread.

“Merry Christmas” is from the Star of Light stamp set. It fits the Bunch of Banners die perfectly, and is one of my favorite Christmas sentiments. I stamped it using Cherry Cobbler ink.

My inspiration for today’s project was this week’s CAS(E) this sketch.

Thank you for stopping by today. May we all find mistletoe this season!

Welcome to the Kre8tors November 2018 Blog Hop, where the theme is “birthday.” This is the most popular reason to send a card, and my Animal Friends couldn’t wait to participate. In order to make room for all of them, I decided to make a Double Z Fold Card.

Animal Friends Birthday
I didn’t have to take time coloring the animals, because I cropped them right from the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper. You can see the Animal Friends dies pictured on the DSP: the kangaroo with koala, the rhino, and the giraffe. I planned to pop up the animals on dimensionals, so I layered them on Thick Whisper White cardstock for sturdiness.

Paper Snips were used to fussy cut the Sloth, because he didn’t want to be left out.

Once I had my menagerie, it was time to make the Double Z Fold card base. The card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock, 11″ X 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″.
The band is 11″ X 1 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″. I decorated the panels with more Animal Expedition DSP: birds, tree frogs and even a crocodile. I also added some die cut foliage (Animal Friends die) in Shaded Spruce that matches the 1/16″ border on two of the panels.

Attaching the band is the trickiest part. Glue the long section first, gluing just the left half, because the right half of this section remains open. The middle section remains open, while the end section is glued entirely. TIP: Before the glue is set, close the card to make sure everything is lined up properly.

For the sentiment, I found “Happy Birthday” in the Hand Delivered stamp set, and stamped it in Shaded Spruce ink. It was the right size for cutting with a Bunch of Banners die. But, the animals wanted to add, “Best wishes from all of us,” and I was lucky to find that sentiment in the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. To make it stand out, we framed it with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, matching the 1/16″ border on the card front.

Here’s my closed Double Z Fold card, ready to fit into one of our medium envelopes. It is extra thick, especially with all of the dimensionals. Good thing the Animal Friends are used to being cozy!

You wouldn’t believe how long I deliberated over this “stepped-up” version of yesterday’s card.

Frosted Floral
I would have naturally gone with a monochromatic theme, but I decided to play along with the challenge at Fab Friday. Two of the colors, Tranquil Tide and Mint Macaron, were already being used, so why not add Blackberry Bliss and Cajun Craze?

I began, as I did yesterday, by stamping the sentiment from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set on Frosted Floral Designer Specialty Paper.
The largest, scallop edged, Layering Ovals die was used for cutting. I layered this on a second oval, so it would be sturdy when placed on dimensionals.

The card base is the same Tranquil Tide as yesterday, but I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock.
The white layer and the DSP oval were run through the Big Shot with the Subtle Textured embossing folder.

Now, for the additional colors: I shredded a piece of Blackberry Bliss Nature’s Twine, and taped it around the center of the white layer, making a bow with more shredding.
The Blackberry Bliss berries were cut with a Frosted Bouquet die, and tucked under the oval.
I couldn’t decide what to do with Cajun Craze, until a little bird from Botanical Tags came to my rescue.

If you missed it, here is yesterday’s card: I hope you enjoyed seeing the two versions; it was definitely a challenge! Keep scrolling to see today’s longer shopping list.

What do you do when you need a “quick & easy” card? Find a beautiful piece of Designer Series Paper, and stamp it with a great sentiment!

Quick & Easy
This card was made in a jiffy with Frosted Floral Designer Series Specialty Paper, and a sentiment from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set.

I used the Stamparatus for stamping the sentiment in Tranquil Tide ink on the Mint Macaron colored DSP. This insured the ink would be dark enough, and centered properly.

Before gluing the DSP to the Tranquil Tide card base, I wound Silver Metallic Thread around the bottom of the DSP. I secured the Metallic Thread to the back with tape, and tied a “bow” to several strands on the front. I made the “bow” by cutting a bunch of 2″ strands of thread, and tying them together.

Thank you for stopping by to see my “quick & easy” Christmas card. You’ll find my short supply list below. Tomorrow I will share a “stepped up” version of this card.

A wreath on the front door is a welcoming holiday tradition. This wreath uses all of Stampin’ Up’s fabulous Foil Paper in the colors of Gold, Silver, Champagne, and Copper on a 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″ card.

Metallic Wreath Holiday Card
The frame for the wreath was cut with a Beautiful Layers die from the new Galvanized Metallic Paper. It made a nice, sturdy place to attach the leaves, which were also die cut from the Beautiful Layers set.

I snipped the center from the “wreath,” so it would be open to the background. The background is a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper that I gave more texture to with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.
I tied the wreath at the top with Braided Linen Trim.

You “Season’s Greetings From Our Home To Yours” is from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set, and cut with a die from the Merry Christmas die set.

My circular wreath fits this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches perfectly, don’t you think?

Thank you for visiting me today, and I hope you enjoy creating some wreaths for the holidays! Keep scrolling to see my supply list.

The Sprited Snowmen stamp set is so endearing, and this couple “warms my heart.”

“Your friendship warms my heart”
I stamped the snowman and snowlady in Gray Granite ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock. They were surprisingly easy to fussy cut (no deep cuts) with my Paper Snips. I used nine Stampin’ Blends markers for coloring: Light and Dark Pool Party, Light and Dark Old Olive, Light Bermuda Bay, Dark Crumb Cake, Light Smoky Slate, Light Cerry Cobbler, and Dark Pumpkin Pie. The colors are pictured below in my Product List.

To create their snowy scene, I used the Softly Falling embossing folder on Whisper White cardstock. I layered this on Pool Party cardstock, on a Gray Granite card base. The tree was created with a die from In The Woods, cut from Galvanized Metallic paper. You can see it shine, in person.
The sentiment is from the Spirited Snowmen stamp set, and fits this couple perfectly, “Your friendship warms my heart.” I used a label die from the Merry Christmas die set for cutting.

My inspiration for today’s card is from the Global Design Project theme, celebrating 30 years with Stampin’ Up!

Thank you for stopping by today. “Your friendship warms my heart.”
