Sweet Little Something Bunny for Global Design Project 117

I was looking through my new stash of Occasions Catalog goodies to see what would look good in this week’s Global Design Project colors, when  Sweet Little Something Bunny hopped up saying, “me, me, me, I look good in Crumb Cake!”

I had to agree, and I aim to please, so here he is:

Sweet Little Something Bunny

My daughter named her first stuffed bunny “Hop Hop,” so that’s what we’ll call this one. I thought she was very smart to come up with that name, because cows say moo, cats say meow, etc., etc, but what do rabbits say?

To make Hop Hop come alive, it is a three stamp process. I first stamped the most detailed stamp in Basic Black ink, followed by the medium detailed stamp in Crumb Cake, and the mostly smooth stamp in Sahara Sand.

TIP: Going from dark to light is the easiest way to line it up. I used his bottom and armpits as guides.

I found the pretty, Lemon Lime Twist heart in the Sure Do Love You stamp set. I masked Hop Hop, so I could stamp the heart without getting the green on top of him. Masking means I cut out his image from a second stamping, and placed it on top of him while stamping the heart. Make sense?

We layered Hop Hop on a Crumb Cake card base with a Lemon Lime Twist frame, and all that was missing was Real Red. Hop Hop thought  little, red hearts from Sure Do Love you would be perfect, especially since they could be cut with their own dies.

And, they said just what he wanted to say, “Be Mine,” “I’m Yours,” “Always.”

Thanks for hopping by my blog! Hop Hop would love for you to comment.

Beautiful Peacock Sale-A-Bration Occasions 2018

When I saw the fun color challenge at Paper Players, I knew it was time to ink up Beautiful Peacock.

And, here she is:

Beautiful Peacock Sale-A-Bration Occasions 2018

I first stamped the Peacock in Garden Green, and carefully encased her in the special stamp inked with Lemon Lime Twist. Rather than fussy cutting her, I decided to use a square Stitched Shape die. It would have been fine to leave her flat, but I thought it would add some interest to raise her on dimensionals. We love those, right?

I stamped a bit of the Lemon Lime Twist swirl on her square, and the majority of the swirl on the cardstock that would remain flat. The same stamp was used for a Powder Pink Swirl..

The stamp set provided the sentiment, “Today is all about YOU!,” which I stamped in Garden Green.

What’s not to like about Beautiful Peacock? It’s a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!

If you don’t have a demonstrator, and would like to know how to get this stamp set for FREE, please contact me. I’d love to help you!

Welcome to the Pals December 2017 Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals December 2017 Blog Hop featuring “All that Sparkles and Shines.” Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

I HAD to use my favorite bundle from the new Occasions catalog for this month’s Pals Blog Hop. It’s the Petal Palette Bundle on pages 22 and 23 of the catalog. I love the black and white Designer Series Paper that goes with the collection, but I’ll go a different direction to make this project “sparkle and shine.”

Occasions 2018 Petal Palette for Pals Blog Hop

The precious bird is the first thing that captured my eye at OnStage in November. I was very pleased to see how pretty she looks with shiny, copper, heat embossed feathers.

The Petal Palette Stamp Set also has a wonderful, long, stamp with irregular dots, which I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Copper Powder, same as the bird. I used a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock, because I planned to die cut an oval in the middle, and place it on Foam Adhesive strips for dimension.

Behind the oval is a piece of Regular Whisper White cardstock embossed with one of the narrow folders from Petal Pair. You can see the other embossing folder on the envelope flap, which I painted with Wink of Stella for added shine.

Now, let’s talk about the fabulous, delicate, sparkly, die cut branch. Remember the wonderful Sale-A-Bration Glimmer Paper that sold out last year? Well, it’s baaaack! If I hadn’t been at OnStage to hear about it (with the screaming) I would have missed it in the catalog. It’s on page 37, with the Magical Day Bundle, and comes in three colors: iridescent, light green and turquoise.

I used last year’s green, but other colors would work just as well. I triple layered the branch for sturdiness, glued the tips, and reinforced the bird with dimensionals.

The stamp set has a number of great sentiments that all fit within this die cut frame. I chose “I Just Love You,” popped it up on dimensionals, and added a Metallic Shapes heart as the last “shiny” detail.

December Highlights All About Flowers

This month’s theme is “All About Flowers.” Flowers are beautiful, and one of the most popular images on greeting cards for all occasions.

This was a perfect opportunity for me to use the Petal Palette Stamp Set from the new Occasions 2018 Catalog. It’s so much fun coloring flowers with the new alcohol, Stampin’ Blends, so I couldn’t wait to get started.

Here is my finished project:

By Su Mohr for Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights; Featuring: Petal Palette; Petals and More; Blender Pens, Flourishing Phrases; For more details click on Visit to go to my blog! #petalpalette #blenderpens #sympathycards #flourishingphrases #stampinup #flowers #voteforme

I began with a Crumb Cake card base, layered with Old Olive, and a top layer of Sahara Sand cardstock. The design from this week’s CAS(E) this sketch was exactly what I had in mind.

I stamped two corner flowers from Petal Palette in Crumb Cake Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. Five Stampin’ Blends were used: Light and Dark Old Olive and Light and Dark Calypso Coral to color the leaves and flowers, and a little Color Lifter. The flowers were easily cut with a die from the Petals and More set.

I stamped the sentiment, “Comfort and Healing To You…” (Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set)  in the middle, and placed the flowers in the corners, popped up on dimensionals.

I completed the sentiment with these words stamped inside, “Praying that your heart will be lifted by the many loving thoughts that surround you today.”

At the last minute, I remembered I had the new Epoxy Shapes for perfect, little tears. I didn’t realize until seeing the photos, I had them upside down. Oops!

Thank you for visiting my blog!

The Christmas Bird Named Noel

I had just finished making my Christmas cards, when the little Christmas bird asked that I make one more, featuring her name.

The little bird (Birds and Blooms dies) was so pretty (Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper), with the perfect name, Noel (Large Letters dies), I couldn’t resist.

I cut the letters N-O-E-L from a piece of red gingham from Christmas Quilt DSP, and triple layered them.

By Su Mohr for FabFri127; Featuring: Large Letters, Birds and Blooms, Wood Texture, Christmas Quilt, At Home With You, Hearts Come Home; For more details click visit to go to my blog! #christmascards #noel #largeletters #christmasquilt #tickettearpunch

The Christmas Bird Named Noel

We weren’t sure how to attach these fine letters to the board (Wood Texture Designer Series Paper), but Noel came up with the idea to hang them (At Home with You). She found some red string left over from nest making, and began tying the letters to the board.

Before nailing the board to the card base (Crumb Cake cardstock), I sawed the top and bottom (Ticket Tear Punch) for a nice fit.

Noel wanted to send her card to someone before Christmas, so it needed to say something inside. Look what she chose (Hearts Come Home):

She also wanted it to be displayed someplace where lots of people could see it, so I told her about a place on the internet called FabFri.  She thought a Christmas Free-For-All would be perfect.

Thanks for indulging Noel. She would love for you to leave a comment.

Oh, I almost forgot. She wanted me to tell you, if you want any of the things it took to make this card, you can order them at Stampin’ Up, and get FREE SHIPPING on Monday, December 11., 24 hours only. Click on the banner below:

Occasions 2018 Stampin’ Up! Bottles Bubble Over

When I saw the Bubble Over Bundle at OnStage, my mind went beyond the bright colors to my mother’s bottle collection.

My parents were collectors, and they loved to rummage around antique stores. My mother couldn’t resist things that “went together” to make artistic groupings in their home. Her old, bottle collection is now hanging in my home, and was my inspiration for this project.

My living room wall paint is very close in color to Sahara Sand, so I layered that on the Always Artichoke card base. My mother would have named this green color Bottle Green.  She painted our house this color, the one we lived in when I was 3-10 years old, and I will always like Always Artichoke. For the antique shelf, I used two strips of Wood Texture Designer Series Paper.

The Bottles and Bubbles die set has two sizes of bottles, which I used to cut seven bottles that would fit nicely on the shelf. I used Champagne Foil, Copper Foil, Vellum, Always Artichoke and Pear Pizazz cardstock, and Acetate. The acetate was sharp, like glass, and I actually cut my finger. Ouch!

I tied the bottles together with Linen Thread, and attached the sentiment, “happy together.” The sentiment was cut with a die from Petals and More, one that will be seeing lots of action. Many sentiments will fit perfectly within its frame, and I like its side detailing.

This would make a great anniversary card, so I stamped the inside with a sentiment from Petal Palette, “Some things are just meant to be~ like the two of you together.”

I like participating in the Tic Tac Toe challenge, so can you see which row I chose?

If you chose, vellum, die-cut, open, you were right! Thanks for stepping back in time with me. And, it’s okay if Always Artichoke isn’t appealing to you. We can’t all like the same thing. Have a great day!
