This Global Design Project sketch greeted me this morning:

The little bird from Petal Palette wanted to take part. She is a domestic bird, so she said she’d be happy sitting on a hoop in a cage I could design for her.

You are simply Amazing Birthday Card
This amazing little bird from the Petal Palette Bundle (stamped and die cut) wrote “amazing” on this birthday card. I wish you could see how amazing it is in the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper!
I just love paper words, and I cut the Powder Pink “YOU” from the same die set. “Celebrate” is the third word in the set, and the great news is, that it’s a FREE Sale-A-Bration item. And, not only that, it will carry-over to the annual catalog! YAY! Everyone can order it Jan. 3rd.
I stamped “are simply” from the co-ordinating, Amazing You stamp set.

The black and white stripe “cage” is from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper, and I chose a Powder Pink card base to go with it. One of my favorite outfits when I was a working girl at Nordstrom was this pink, black and white combo. The blazer was a wool, pink and black windowpane pattern, and this project takes me back in time.
The 2″ strip of Whisper White cardstock is embossed with one of the Petal Pair embossing folders, and the “hoop” was cut with two Layering Circles dies.
The Organza Ribbon was the final touch to complete my outfit, I mean sketch.

I feel like my Nordstrom ensemble is complete! Thanks for sharing my memory.

What is the perfect gift? It’s one that you know the recipient will love. It won’t be returned or exchanged. It’s always the right size. And, there’s the personal touch of “you” that goes along with it.
It’s a gift card or cash, enclosed in a pretty, little gift card holder made by “you.”

Easy to make gift card holders
I started making these gifts back in October, and this post includes all of the instructions:
Welcome to the October 2017 Pals Blog Hop!
I happened to see the challenge at TGIF today, and this year’s gift card holder fit the theme.

I needed more, so this happened:

Now, all I have to do is enclose gift cards and checks, and get them mailed. Happy Holidays!

Lots of Lavender is one of the first FREE, Sale-A-Bration, stamp sets I received with my Occasions 2018 pre-order. I chose it because I adore seeing fields of Lavender, and for the health benefits of Young Living Lavender Essential Oil. I put drops of it in my diffuser every night at bed time, so I’ll get a good night’s sleep. So, I was looking forward to playing with this new stamp set, and this is my first project:

Lots of Lavender
I began by stamping the lavender bouquet in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White cardstock. Rather than use the stamps that come with the set for splashing on color, I used our Stampin’ Blends to make it precise. I’ll enjoy using the “correct” method another time.
The Stampin’ Blend colors are: Light and Dark Rich Razzleberry, Light and Dark Old Olive and Bronze.

You might be wondering about the Stitched Shape square and circle. There really was a reason behind it, and it happens to be this week’s CAS(E) this sketch:

I decided to add dimension to my bouquet by using the dies. I first cut the circle, then the square. For texture, I embossed the paper with the hole in the middle with the Garden Trellis Folder.
I stamped “Beautiful Friend” (Beautiful Peacock stamp set) on the square before adding dimensionals, and placing it over its hole. I doubled the dimensionals on the circle, so it would be a little higher.

CAS(E) this sketch helped the creation of a unique card. I know I wouldn’t have thought of this on my own. Thank you!

The Bubble Over Bundle was just what I needed for this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

I chose the right row down: Sequins-Pink-Snow.
It might seem a little crazy to put a pink, refreshing drink in the sequin snow, but it makes more sense if you remember I’m in San Diego. We’ve been having dry, 80 degree days, no snow in sight, and a cold drink tastes good.

Occasions 2018 Bubble Over Bundle
The Scattered Sequins Embossing folder is pictured on p. 13 of the Occasions 2018 catalog with the Sweet Soiree Suite, but I like it as bubbles (or snow) for this project. It’s as close to snow as we’re going to get in San Diego.
The die for the straw is oh, so, cute, and I love it in the striped Garden Green and Melon Mambo.
The bottle from the Bubble Over stamp set is stamped in Powder Pink, and cut with its die. The label is also die cut, and stamped with “Your kindness is most refreshing.”
The art piece is layered on Garden Green cardstock with a Lemon Lime Twist card base. Along with Powder Pink and Melon mambo, these are the same colors I used in my Beautiful Peacock project for Paper Players:

Thanks for visiting, and here’s a toast to your kindness! Ahhhh, very refreshing!

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for December 2017. This month our theme is Sneak Peeks of the Occasions 2018 Catalog. This is an exciting time for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, because we are able to purchase the 2018 Occasions products a month early, and begin experimenting with possibilities.
Everyone will be able to purchase these products in January, so get ready to enjoy these sneak peeks. You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog, Su Mohr, or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
I’m always in need of masculine cards, so I was happy to see the True Gentleman Suite on pages 44-45 of the catalog.
And, here is my creation:

Masculine Truly Tailored DAD
The True Gentleman Designer Series Paper has great, masculine colors, and I chose my favorite sheet, illustrated with glasses.
First, I selected Dapper Denim as a card base to go with this fantastic print. Then, I used the Large Letters Framelit Dies to cut the letters D-A-D at the top of the DSP.
Next, I triple layered the letters with cardstock, applied tiny pieces of dimensionals, and placed the letters on top of the holes from which they came. Someone coined the name “eclipse” for this method. It has a cool look, doesn’t it? I just noticed those glasses hanging off the bottom of the “A”!

The coordinating paper is so wonderful, I cut a 1″ strip to show off the “Lookin’ Sharp” tag, punched with the Tailored Tag Punch. I stamped the tag with Tranquil Tide ink, punched a hole in the top, and tied it with Dapper Denim Baker’s Twine. It’s freely swinging.
Just to prove you can’t have too many glasses, I used the stamp and die from Pocketful of Sunshine (current annual catalog) to make a “real” pair of sunglasses.

This was a fun card to make for a DAD, and I hope I inspired you with this sneak peek.
Thanks for taking part in our blog hop! Remember that currently you are at my blog, Su Mohr, so check the blog hop line up to see who is next in the list.

Thank you for joining us for the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. I am so honored that Kylie Bertucci from Australia asked me to be the guest designer for her Crazy Crafters team this month. The Crazy Crafters will be CASE-ing (Copy and Selectively Edit-ing) a project from my gallery. I was to choose something from my gallery to CASE also.
I am so excited to see what the Crazy Crafters select for inspiration, and their resulting creations! The blog line-up will be at the end of my post, so you can hop along from one blog to the next. Let the fun begin!
This is one of my favorite Baby Bear cards that I chose to CASE. Many of my friends are becoming grandparents. And, my younger daughter has a number of friends getting married and starting families. So, I need to have “baby” cards on hand.

Baby Bear has appeared on many of my cards for numerous occasions, since he was introduced: Thanksgiving, birthday, hello, get well, miss you, Valentines Day, Christmas, and baby cards. Here’s a couple of the more recent ones:
Baby Bear Says Welcome To The World

Celebration Time Baby Bear
I’ve been a big fan of Baby Bear, so you can imagine my delight at seeing the Sweet Little Something Bunny in the Occasions 2018 Catalog. And what could be more appropriate for a “HOP?”

I found the Soft Sky Designer Series Paper in Coffee Break , and used the Cable Knit Embossing Folder to make it look like a baby blanket. I layered this on Sahara Sand cardstock which was layered on a Thick Whisper White card base.
I couldn’t wait to 3-step stamp the bunny, and selected my three colors. The first, detailed stamp was Tuxedo Black, second Chocolate Chip, and third Sahara Sand. Stamping dark to light is the way to go, and I used his bottom and arm pits as guides. Doesn’t he look real? I want to squeeze his fuzzy, little body!
He fit perfectly within the largest Layering Circle Die, and I used the scallop edged circle for cutting a Sahara Sand Frame. The Bunch of Banners Die made a frame for the cute sentiment, “Sweet little somebunny.”

I think this new Organza Ribbon might be my favorite ribbon EVER! I love how you can see through it. For instance, I like how it doesn’t cover up the “S” in the sentiment.
I completed the inside of the card with “Hip Hop Hurray!” which also comes in the stamp set. The two die cut flowers are from the new Petal Palette.
The envelope flap was covered with a piece of dotted Sahara Sand DSP.
TIP: If you haven’t done this before, cut a piece of DSP, 5 3/4″ X 2 1/2″. Glue the border of the flap, adhere DSP, and let your scissors follow the edge around the flap. It’s easier than I thought it would be to have a nice, clean edge.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Sweet Little Something Bunny. I’ll be hopping along with you to see all of the wonderful inspiration from the Crazy Crafters.
Thank you for making me feel so special!
