I’m always needing masculine birthday cards for my husband’s fellow workers. Fishing is a hobby that a number of them enjoy, so I found some black and white fish in the Just Add Color Designer Specialty Paper.

The fish would be my three shapes in the Less Is More challenge.

I fussy cut the fish, and then used the Aqua Painter to watercolor them using a couple colors each. This paper is extra thick, and held up nicely with the watercoloring.
The top fish is Delightful Daffodil and Pumpkin Pie, the middle fish is Emerald Envy and Lemon Lime Twist, and the bottom fish is Real Red, Berry Burst and Sweet Sugarplum.
Now, this might sound crazy, because fish are supposed to stay wet, but you need to let them dry out before adhering them to the card base. I used dimensionals, so they could swim freely in their “Ruffled” embossed ocean.
I stamped “Happy Birthday” from the Lemon Zest stamp set before embossing the Thick Whisper White card front with the Ruffled folder. I think the fish are perfectly happy on this card without any layers.

No wonder adult coloring is on the rise. It’s so much fun! Thank you Less Is More for the inspiration!

Reindeer and I were looking through some old, three cent postage stamps from 1956 when we came upon the perfect one. Well, almost perfect. It wasn’t a reindeer, but it was a Pronghorn Antelope commemorating Wildlife Conservation, and it was brown.
I glued four of the stamps to cardstock, and used a die from Santa’s Sleigh to give Reindeer some style.

He wanted to be the center of attention, so we decided to let him stand out on Whisper White that was embossed with the Softly Falling folder. He likes cold weather, and thinks the snow makes it feel like Christmas time.
I have to explain about the “merry” that isn’t in the current catalog. I attended “Create the Day Away yesterday” (Peggy Noe and Linda Foster organized it), and there were retired Stampin’ Up! items for sale. I cannot resist paper words! I was anxious to use this “new to me” Christmas Greeting word, and die cut the “merry” from Cherry Cobbler cardstock. It would make the triangular shapes needed for this week’s CAS(E) this sketch.

We decided on a card base of Crumb Cake to match Reindeer’s fur, layered with striped, Be Merry Designer Series Paper to tie it all together.

Reindeer was very helpful, and we both appreciated the interesting design from CAS(E) this sketch. Thank you!

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for September 2017. This month our theme is “Halloween.” You may be starting the blog hop here, Aromas and Art– Su Mohr, or you may have come from another person in the list. The full line-up below will help you stay on track, so you don’t miss any of the fabulous projects being shared today.
When I think of Halloween, I think of going to a pumpkin patch, and picking out a pumpkin. This led me to thinking about making a patchwork quilt; a paper one, of course! I’ll show you the end result of all that thinking, and then I’ll back up and fill you in on the details.

It was easy to zero in on the pumpkin print Designer Series Paper from the Painted Harvest collection. The back side of the paper had a print that would work well “stitched” together with the pumpkins.
I’m not a seamstress, but I love making paper quilts using the Quilt Builder Framelits Dies. Can you see how I cut the star shape from the patterned paper, and the frame in Chocolate Chip brown? For the shapes around the pumpkins, I just turned the pieces over, and the tiny squares were revealed.

The design is basically the same as a card I recently shared using postage stamps.

Labor Day Quilts for Three Occasions
I chose a coordinating paper from the same, Painted Autumn DSP, and glued the frame to it. It’s really fun placing the pieces inside the frame, like a jig saw puzzle. Once all the pieces were glued down, I ran it through the Big Shot using the Quilted Texture Embossing Folder. Doesn’t it look like soft fabric?

I love the little spool that comes in the die set. I used Chocolate Chip cardstock, and wound it with Linen Thread. The needle was cut from Silver Foil.

Just in case there are any questions about this being a Halloween Card, I found “Happy Halloween” in the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. I popped it up on dimensionals, and it serves a second purpose of holding the thread in place.
Would you like to peek at the inside? With the help of the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set, my pumpkins became jack-o-lanterns!

For a final touch, I embossed the envelope flap. The quilting shows up nicely on the Very Vanilla envelope, don’t you think?

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop. Remember, you are currently at Aromas and Art-Su Mohr. Check the list below to see who is next. Happy Hopping!

Today’s card was inspired by the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #016, and I chose the left row down: metallic-window-free.

I’m sure this isn’t what Shannon meant by “window, ” but I thought it would be fun to take it literally. And, what could be better than a metallic window cut with a Hearth & Home die from Champagne Foil?

I thought the sentiment from the Hearts Come Home stamp set went nicely with the window, “All hearts come home for Christmas.”

I built a Whisper White brick home around the window with the Brick Wall embossing folder. The red, heart print paper is Sending Love Designer Series Paper meant for Valentines, but the Real Red works for Christmas too!
The decoration beneath the window is from Carols of Christmas. I stamped the tiny leaves in Garden Green on Whisper White cardstock, and cut with a Card Front Builder die. I left a space between the leaves for little, red, enamel dots.

Thank you Tic Tac Toe designers for the inspiration.

First thing this morning, I checked the winners for two challenges, the Paper Players and CAS(E) this sketch. I can’t believe my Autumn Leaves card was chosen in both challenges!
I can’t thank you enough, Annie (Paper Players) and the design team at CAS(E) this sketch. This will keep me on Cloud Nine all day.

My idea for this card began with a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I started with a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock, which I cut in two pieces to match the sketch.
I placed these in the Winter Wonder embossing folder (the large snowflake) and rolled it through the Big Shot. I tried to be a little messy here, and used jagged edge scissors to trim the edges.
I had to laugh, because it still looked neat, and not the “messy” I was intending.

I decided the snowflake would fall on a Wisteria Wonder card base, and I would use matching ink for the “Peace on Earth” sentiment. I gave it the same scissor treatment, and popped it up on dimensionals in its designated position.
A few scattered, Fancy Frost sequins for embellishment completed my not so messy card.

Thank you for visiting my blog. And, thanks Freshly Made Sketches for the inspiration.
