Valentine’s Day has come and gone. Even though the beautiful, All My Love Designer Series Paper was designed for Valentines, I’m continuing to use it for other occasions.
the world needs more people like you
Once in a while, I just feel like fussy cutting. With my Paper Snips in hand, I cropped six flowers from one of my favorite, All My Love, patterns of paper. You can see which one in my Product List below.
I felt that six flowers was a good number for completing this week’s sketch at Fab Friday.
For the background, I chose a coordinating print, which I edged with a Be Mine Stitched die for interest. The print has stems of Soft Sea Foam, so I highlighted this color with a border of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. The print also has a background of Crumb Cake, and this color became the card base.
The circle in the sketch became a heart of Soft Sea Foam, cut with a Be Mine Stitched die. The heart’s frame is a piece of 6X6 Subtles DSP. Once everything was glued together, the flowers were placed on dimensionals to approximate the sketch.
The sentiment, “the world needs more people like you,” is one of six great sentiments in the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Part of my Story. You can see all six sentiments in my Product List below. This card would be appropriate for a thank you, birthday, or “just because” card, don’t you think?

Everyone enjoys blowing out the candles, and making wishes on their birthday! Don’t they?
Blow out the candles
This birthday card was inspired by the color challenge at Global Design Project.
The three colors are in the “Brights” family. Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green are so pretty together, and the candle flame in Melon Mambo adds some “pop.”
I chose Coastal Cabana for the card base, followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock, that I edged with a new, favorite die from the Be Mine Stitched die set. Next, a layer of dotted, Designer Series Paper from the 6X6 Brights Collection.
The next step was very tedious, and I will not do it again with the Well Written words. First, I cut “birthday wishes” (Well Written die set) from the dotted DSP, exposing the white layer. Using the same two dies, I cut “birthday wishes” from Granny Apple Green cardstock, and placed the words in the empty space. I didn’t like the way it looked with the remaining white spaces showing, which led to the ridiculous, inlaid, part. I cut the two words a third time from Coastal Cabana, and filled 14 teeny tiny spaces. Call me silly! I should have simply cut the words from Granny Apple Green, and glued them on top.
Once I completed my words, I needed candles for making wishes, and found them in the Blow Out The Candles stamp set. I stamped three candles in Coastal Cabana ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock, and cut them with their die from Candles & Confetti. The stamp set also has the flame, which I stamped in Melon Mambo ink.
My three candles looked a little lonely, so before attaching them, I added some greenery. To make the leaves, I used a die from the Wonderful Floral die set, with Granny Apple Green cardstock, and a piece of Brights 6X6 DSP.

Once again, I find myself creating with the Tea Together stamp set, coupled with the Tea Time die set. When the stamp set was introduced in the Occasions catalog, I was beyond excited to discover a matching die set in the Sale-A-Bration brochure!
Mother-Daughter
The theme, design, and colors were inspired by the challenge at Fusion.
And, TGIF is all about Sale-A-Bration, so I’m sharing there also.
I stamped the teacup in Black ink on Whisper White cardstock, using its die for cutting. I used the same die to cut a second teacup in patterned Vellum from Floral Romance Designer Series Paper. Then, I glued the two together, allowing the black lines to show through the vellum.
I wanted my teacup, focal point, to have some flowers, and the Tea Together stamp set had the perfect one. I stamped three flowers in Black ink on Vellum. After using its die for cutting, I colored them on the backside with Stampin’ Blends: Light & Dark Daffodil Delight, and Dark Old Olive. Then, I placed Mini-Dimensionals at their centers for a floating effect.
The background is mostly white with a card base of Thick Whisper White. This is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock embossed with the Quilt Top embossing folder. Next, Petal Pink cardstock with rounded corners, like the Fusion sketch, and Whisper White cardstock with matching rounded corners. I gave the white layer some Subtle Texture embossing, in both directions. The rounded corners were made with the Detailed Trio Punch, an easy way to achieve this look.
I decided early on that I wanted to use the sweet poem that’s in the Tea Together stamp set. I’ve been waiting for the perfect card front, and this was it! It stamped beautifully in Black ink, and fit the Stitched Shapes square die just right.
To coordinate with the poem, I stamped, “I’m so glad you are a part of my story,” on the inside. It’s from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Part of my Story, and such a beautiful thing to say to a loved one. Don’t you agree?
I decorated the envelope flap with a piece of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper in Petal Pink. I really appreciate how Stampin’ Up! coordinates the colors.
My card is now ready to send to my older daughter.

Lasting Lily is the stamp set that is being showcased at What Will You Stamp? this week.
Single Lily
This is a wonderful stamp set that is FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration. And, the exciting news is that a coordinating die set can be purchased from March 1-31, as long as supplies last. The stamp set and dies are in my Product List below, so you can see more details.
I began today’s card by stamping the larger lily in Daffodil Delight ink on Whisper White cardstock. Then, I stamped the stem in Old Olive ink, and hand cut both pieces. I can’t wait to get the dies, to speed up the process!
The background is a piece of Floral Romance Designer Series Paper that I embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. Additional interest was made with a Wonderful Floral die. I adhered this piece to a Mossy Meadow card base, and placed my single lily on an angle.
The sentiment, “thanks” is from the Well Written die set, cut from Mossy Meadow cardstock. Did I tell you how much I love these paper words?
My single lily needed some leaves, and there’s a beautiful one in the stamp set. Unfortunately, it has gone missing. I’m sure it’s stuck to something somewhere, but after searching, it was not to be found. So, I used leaves from the Wonderful Floral die set, cut from Pear Pizzazz cardstock.
The final detail was the bow, made with Old Olive Linen Thread, attached with a Mini-Glue Dot. I would buy this Linen Thread in every color, if it was available!

Pink is the color I chose for my Paper Player’s monochromatic project this week, and this piece of marble from nature is showing the varying shades.
For the second requirement of keeping it clean and simple, I used just one piece of Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.
“carved in stone”
I cut the heart from the DSP using a Be Mine Stitched die, along with several layers of retired cardstock, for thickness. Then , I adhered this DSP with the hole in it to a Petal Pink card base. After applying dimensionals to the heart, I placed it back in its spot, without disrupting the pattern of veins in the stone. You could call this the “eclipse” technique.
This fabulous DSP is an actual photograph of marble, which made me think of the expression, “carved in stone.” So, I put my Labeler Alphabet stamp set to use, and stamped the required letters in Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White cardstock. I used my Paper Snips for cutting, and lined up the letters as you see. A little imperfection is their charm.
The words, “love you” are from the Well Written die set, and cut from another pink pattern of Petal Promenade DSP. After giving them one extra layer of cardstock, I glued them in place, and my clean and simple, monochromatic, card was complete.

Today’s Wonderful Romance, celebration card, is all about coloring.
hooray!
My favorite tools for coloring are the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers, offered in a wide range of colors. For this project I used: Light Mossy Meadow, Light Old Olive, Light & Dark Granny Apple Green, Dark Pineapple Punch, Dark Crumb Cake, and Light and Dark Calypso Coral.
I first stamped the floral bouquet (Wonderful Romance stamp set) in Crumb Cake ink on Shimmery White cardstock. Before coloring, I used the bouquet’s die from Wonderful Floral for cutting.
The Shimmery White cardstock has nice thickness, so I couldn’t resisted placing my bouquet on dimensionals.
My layout for the bouquet was inspired by this week’s CAS(E) this sketch.
After playing around with angled sections, I decided to go with plain rectangles on the diagonal corners. The top piece is 2″ X 3″, and the bottom piece is 2″ X 2 1/4″. These fit nicely on the layer of Whisper White cardstock, which is 4″ X 5 1/4″, layered on the 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ Thick Whisper White card base. The striped paper is from the Neutrals 6X6 Designer Series Paper in Pear Pizzazz.
Just one more item would complete my card front; a word from the Well Written die set, “hooray,” and the exclamation point. We use a lot of those in our online writing! Don’t we? I rolled these through the Big Shot with Pear Pizzazz cardstock, and adhered them with tiny, tiny, tiny dots of Tombow liquid glue.
I hope you enjoyed seeing today’s bouquet, good for any celebration. But, I like the way “hooray” rhymes with “birthday,” so it will probably end up saying, “It’s your birthday,” on the inside.
