Today’s card is in celebration of Easter, and fits Anne Marie’s theme of “Spring Fever” this week at Paper Players.
He Is Risen
It was time to start making Easter cards, and His Grace is the perfect stamp set for the occasion.
The two doves from the Serene Garden stamp set are raising the banner high. I stamped the doves in VersaMark on Thick Whisper White cardstock, and sprinkled them with Gold embossing powder. Using the Heat Tool, the powder dried to a shiny finish.
I achieved the dove’s mirror image with the “reverse technique,” using the Stamparatus and Silicone Craft Sheet. I stamped the first dove in the normal manner. Then, I stamped the second dove on the Silicon Craft Sheet, followed by placing the cardstock on top of the VersaMark dove on the Silicon Craft Sheet, and stamping again. Since the dove stays in the same position on the Stampatus, the image is perfectly aligned. When you lift the cardstock, the image is on the backside, in the reverse direction. You may have to try this yourself, before it makes sense.
TIP: Place the cardstock tight to the top, and bring it down carefully, so it doesn’t move. This will prevent a fuzzy image.
Before placing the doves on dimensionals, I colored them with a Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend.
The idea of making a mirror image originated from the Paper Player’s sketch. It came in handy, because I needed two doves to carry the banner.
The banner is from the Banners for You stamp set, Which I stamped in Soft Suede ink, on Thick Whisper White cardstock. There is a die in the coordinating set, Bunch of Banners, that cut it out perfectly. I used the Stamparatus to make sure the sentiment, “He is Risen,” was placed in the middle.
I embossed the Sahara Sand background with the Ruffled embossing folder, adhering it to a Sahara Sand card base. A few Iridescent Sequins were added for some sparkle.
I decorated the envelope flap with a piece of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper, so it’s ready to mail.

It is so exciting to get new stamp sets with dies to match! The possibilities are endless! Today’s project is a “quick & easy” thank you card, created with the Painted Seasons stamp set and Four Seasons die set.
Painted Seasons
I wanted to try stamping the flower from Painted Seasons with Calypso Coral ink on Blushing Bride cardstock, and was pleased with the results. After cutting with the Four Seasons die, my flower had a nice pink border, rather than white, which you get when stamping on Whisper White cardstock.
Since this worked so well, I stamped the leaves (three times) in Mossy Meadow ink on Soft Sea Foam cardstock, and cut with its die.
For the card base, I chose one of my favorite colors, Soft Sea Foam, and topped it with Whisper White cardstock. I used the long, narrow die from the Be Mine Stitched die set to give it a nice, scalloped edge. Then I layered on some Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper for my flower’s background.
The word “thanks,” from the Well Written die set, was cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, and glued in place.
My inspiration for the layout was from this week’s Global Design project.
Do you see the three clear stars I added from the Metallics Sequin Assortment? I like the way they blend in with the starry background.

Today’s card combines the popular Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper with the Happy Tails stamp set and Dog Builder Punch. The puppy’s profile is so cute, no matter how you stamp him! I used Soft Suede ink on the spotted print from Animal Expedition DSP, and his punch for cutting.
Spot
This week’s CAS(E) this sketch was my guide for his background.
Spot (the dog’s name) is sitting against a white fence, made with Whisper White cardstock, a Rectangle Stitched die, and the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.
TIP: I embossed two-thirds of the white cardstock, leaving the bottom smooth.
The fence is bordered with Call Me Clover cardstock, and I chose Granny Apple Green for the card base.
The Call me Clover plants along the fence were cut with a die from the Sale-A-Bration, Coordination set, Hop Around.
The sentiment, “friend,” is cut from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, with a die from the Well Written set.
Before adhering everything, I tied a piece of Braided Linen Trim around the bordered fence.
The envelope flap is decorated with Animal Expedition DSP.

The sentiment, “Our thoughts are with you,” is the message I want to send today.
Vellum Bliss
To go along with the sentiment, I decided to make some vellum flowers with heat embossing.
The flower is from the Botanical Bliss stamp set, which I stamped in VersaMark on Vellum cardstock. Then, I sprinkled the three flowers with White embossing powder, and used the Heat Tool to set the powder.
Happy with the shiny outlines, I began coloring the flowers on the backside with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. You’ll find the Stampin’ Blends colors I used in my Product List below.
TIP: It does not look pretty on the side you are coloring, but looks terrific when you turn it over.
After coloring, I fussy cut the flowers with my Stampin’ Up! Paper Snips, the best scissors around! I discovered that cutting around a heat embossed image is especially easy, because the raised line provides a nice cutting edge.
Wanting a clean and simple look for my flowers, I kept the background Whisper White with Subtle Textured embossing, and adhered this to a Thick Whisper White card base. The two white branches were cut with a die in the Botanical Tags die set, and glued on an angle. The flowers are attached with Mini-Dimensionals at their centers.
The sentiment is from the Lasting Lily stamp set, a Sale-A-Bration stamp set, FREE with a qualifying order and available through March 31st.
“Our thoughts are with you” was stamped in Black ink on Whisper White cardstock, and cut with a Layering Ovals die. It received the Subtle Textured treatment also, and was placed on Dimensionals.

Lacey (named for her Floral Romance, Petal Pink, Vellum fur) was getting jealous, and causing trouble. She said I had been paying too much attention to the Happy Tails dog, and wanted to be the focal point of my next project.

My next project was Ann’s great sketch for Paper Players, so I thought Lacey could be “any shape.”
Since Lacey’s fur was from the Floral Romance Designer Series Paper, wouldn’t it be good to use other paper from the group to coordinate with her? She agreed. YAY!
We chose a light green, leafy print for the larger rectangle, and a dark green print for the smaller rectangle. For the background, there was a nice piece of Sahara Sand wood, tinged with green, that would blend with a Sahara Sand card base.
Lacey wanted to sit on a strip of Sahara Sand cardstock, but only if it was embossed with Subtle Texture. This led to giving the Subtle Texture treatment to all the paper. And, believe it or not, Lacey wanted to be rolled through the Big Shot to to get the treatment also. She said it hurt quite a bit, but it was worth it. Whew!
Lacey found what she wanted to say in the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, “a little hello.” I stamped it in Mossy Meadow ink on Whisper White cardstock, and used a Merry Christmas die for cutting. After I found a Share What You Love Artisan pearl to put next to the sentiment, Lacey was very happy. I try!
Lacey’s final request was for butterflies. She promised not to hurt them, as long as I let them fly around her. So, I used the Butterfly Duet Punch to cut them from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, and she is keeping her word, so far.

Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper is for all four seasons. This circle of flowers is spring time “thanks.”
Painted Seasons Thanks
I wanted to make the colorful flowers pop against white, so the card base is Thick Whisper White with a layer of regular weight, Whisper White cardstock. The Whisper White layer is not without lots of texture. Don’t you think the Country Floral embossing makes a nice background? I’m in love with this new Sale-A-Bration embossing folder, that you can get for FREE with a 50.00 order.

The Painted Seasons DSP was cut with the largest Stitched Shapes circle die, and layered for thickness. TIP: This gives it a nice feel, plus, makes it lay nicely on the bumpy embossing.
Next, I used a Well Written die to cut the word, “thanks” from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. I layered it also, and glued it in place.
Now, all I needed was a butterfly for this week’s TGIF challenge.

Wood Texture Butterflies and Rainbow Foil
For this project, I stamped my single butterfly in Early Espresso ink using a stamp from the Butterfly Gala stamp set. The Stamparatus came in handy for perfect placement. My butterfly was attached with dimensionals, flying towards the fragrant blossoms.
To connect the butterfly and “thanks” I added a sweet, little Frosted Flower embellishment.
