“Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.” Are you singing with me?
Let It Snow
This “Let It Snow” Christmas card came together because of two challenges. TGIF has a technique challenge this week, where we were to create our own background.
I began by spritzing a piece of Shimmery White cardstock with water, and sprinkling it with blue Brusho Crystal Colour. I spritzed again to get it nice and wet to let the color run on the paper. After drying, which I assisted with my Heat Tool, I pressed it flat beneath heavy books.
Once my sky was flat, the shape was determined by the sketch at this week’s Global Design Project.
I chose Thick Whisper White for the card base, layered with Whisper White cardstocked, embossed by the Softly Falling embossing folder.
The hearts in the sketch became snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers die set. I used three of the dies for cutting the snowflakes from Shimmery White cardstock. Can you see them glistening?
I didn’t have the words “let it snow” in a stamp set, so I relied on my handy, dandy Labeler Alphabet stamp set. The letters are stamped in Balmy Blue ink, and snipped from Whisper White cardstock. If you haven’t seen my tips for ease of use, here it is:

Before gluing it all together, I wound Silver Metallic Thread around the bottom of the sky, and tied a knot.

For today’s project, I’m playing along with Paper Player’s Tic Tac Toe challenge. I thought it would be a good opportunity to use my favorite sequins, the Iridescent Assortment. They are beautiful, shiny, pastel colors in varying sizes.
Merry Christmas Glimmer
I chose the right, row, down: green-any embossing-sequins/glitter.
To go with my glittery sequins, I chose a piece of shimmery, Mint Macaron, Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper. I trimmed it to size, and bordered it with Soft Sea Foam cardstock. Then, I cut the word “Christmas ” from the Merry Christmas die set, and glued it at an angle on the DSP. Isn’t it pretty in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper? You’ll find the word “Christmas” in the Merry Christmas die set.
The two sprigs (duplicated in the DSP) were cut with a Frosted Bouquet die; one in Soft Sea Foam, and the other in Mint Macaron.
The card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock with a layer of regular weight Whisper White, embossed by the Woodland embossing folder.
The word “Merry” is in the Merry Christmas to All stamp set, which I stamped in Mint Macaron ink on Whisper White cardstock. I cut it with a label die in the Merry Christmas die set. The two sets can be ordered in a bundle, which gives you a 10% savings.
Last, but not least, I placed just six beautiful sequins. I know, it looks like more, because they are spilled in the background. They are so pretty, I couldn’t help myself!

The Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper is beautiful, and truly special with Copper Foil shine. For today’s project, I used two of the DSP designs with one layout.
Joyous Noel
The layout is from this week’s Fab Friday challenge.
The first card has a Gray Granite card base, layered with Soft Suede cardstock beneath the Joyous Noel DSP. I cut the tree branch, in the Night Owl die set, from Copper Foil.
The Copper Foil branch is winding around a 2″ piece of Gray Granite cardstock that I made into a banner using the Banner Triple Punch. After cutting it, I ran it through the Big Shot using the Corrugated embossing folder.
The sentiment is from the Still Night stamp set, which comes in a bundle with the Night Owl die set. If ordered this way, you’ll save 10%. Every little bit helps!
I heat embossed the sentiment with Copper embossing powder, and used a Stitched Shapes oval die for cutting. I glued it all together, and my card was complete.
Everything was in front of me when my second card fell into place. This time, I chose a Thick Whisper White card base, and glued the deer patterned DSP directly to it. The same tree branch, became deer antlers, die cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock.
The banner is similar, but it is shorter, and is embossed vertically.
The sentiment is the same, except it’s heat embossed on Whisper White cardstock, rather than Gray Granite.
Can you find the other difference? Yep, it’s the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. For some reason, it just called for it.
The supplies for both cards are listed below. The only addition for the second card was the white cardstock and the ribbon. I hope this helps you see how you can maximize your resources. Be sure to check out all 12 of the Joyous Noel paper patterns.

The flowers in the First Frost stamp set look like they are watercolored, and gorgeous in Lovely Lipstick, this pinkish red color.
First Frost Christmas Blessings
I began with a Thick Whisper White card base, topped with layers of Sahara Sand and Whisper White. The rounded corners of the layers were easily made with the Detailed Trio Punch.
The envelope flap is decorated with a piece of Neutrals 6X6″ Designer Series Paper, cut 5 3/4 X 2 1/4″, and trimmed to fit.
MASKING TECHNIQUE
I stamped the top flower in Lovely Lipstick ink on the Whisper White layer. I wanted two more flowers to appear beneath one another, which is the reason for my masking technique.
The First Frost stamp set comes with the Frosted Bouquet die set, so I die cut two flowers from sticky notes to use in the process. I placed the sticky note (yellow flower) over my top flower, and stamped the middle flower. Then, I added a sticky note over the middle flower, and stamped the bottom flower.
I was inspired to use the masking technique by this week’s CAS(E) this sketch. See the three overlapping circles?
Babies Breath seemed like a good addition, and I could use the same sticky notes. I wanted to keep it understated, so I stamped the Babies Breath in VersaMark, sprinkled White Embossing Powder, and shot it with the Heat Tool to set.
The linen look was made by using the Subtle Textured embossing folder, running it through the Big Shot in both directions.
The sentiment, “Christmas Blessings,” is from the Christmas Pines stamp set, which I stamped in Sahara Sand ink prior to embossing. For that little something extra, I added three pearls.

The theme for this month is “congratulations,” and today’s card is welcoming a newborn to the family. It’s among the happiest occasions to celebrate, and I love making baby cards.
The stamp set I’m using is Best Bunny, which makes me giggle, since this is a blog “hop.”
Let’s name the bunny Hop Hop, because that’s what my daughter called her first stuffed bunny.

I think Hop Hop has stolen my heart. Isn’t he adorable?
The Best Bunny stamp set comes in a bundle with the Bunny Builder Punch, and I saved 10% buying it this way. Actually I was able to get it for FREE, because I used my August coupons. What a deal! I try to take advantage of all Stampin’ Up’s special offers.
I couldn’t wait to punch out the bunny from Thick Whisper White cardstock. Then, using a Sponge Dauber, I brushed the edges with Crumb Cake ink. I set Hop Hop aside while completing the card.
The layout for my card was inspired by this week’s Paper Players sketch.
I created the top, angled section, by sponge daubing Pool Party ink on Whisper White cardstock through a stencil of Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut Paper.
To define the angle, I used Nature’s Twine in Mint Macaron, fraying the ends, and attaching with Tear & Tape.
Hop Hop is my “any shape” in the sketch, and I used dimensionals to make him stand out.
The sentiment, “Hopping by to just say hi,” is in the Best Bunny stamp set, which I stamped in Crumb Cake ink.
I glued the art piece to Mint Macaron cardstock, and glued both to a Pool Party card base.
The envelope is decorated with a 5 3/4 X 2/14″ piece of Subtles 6X6 Designer Series Paper, trimmed to fit. Using the flap as a template makes it easy to trim.

Today’s project is a holiday card using the Making Every Day Bright stamp set. World Card Making Day is coming up, October 6th, and I thought it would be a good idea to make a holiday card in non-traditional Christmas colors. Besides, my grandmother, on my father’s side, preferred white Christmas trees with blue lights and silver tinsel.
Merry & Bright
Stampin’ Up’s new Blueberry Bushel is the card base. The envelope is decorated with a piece of In Colors 6X6″ Designer Series Paper, in matching Blueberry Bushel.
I stamped the lightbulbs in Blueberry Bushel ink on Whisper White cardstock, stamping off, so their color would vary a bit. Our Christmas Bulb Punch was fun to use for cutting.
For the background, I stamped the electrical cord (Making Every Day Bright) in Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock. Then, I embossed it with the Simple Stripes embossing folder. Yes, I stamped the Pineapple Punch rays (Making Every Day Bright) right on top of the embossed stripes. The rays needed to be in a certain spot, so the lines actually helped with placement.
The sentiment, “Merry and Bright,” is from The Hearts Come Home stamp set, which I stamped in Blueberry Bushel, and cut with a scalloped Layering Ovals die. The foliage around the sentiment was cut from Whisper White cardstock using Pretty Pines dies. I added seven Rhinestone Jewels for extra brightness.
