Happy Friday everyone! Today I’m going to share the new Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper combined with Brusho Crystal Colour. That’s a mouth full! It was actually quite simple to do, and I’ll let you in on a few tips. Here’s the completed project:
Laser-Cut Specialty Paper with Brusho Crystal Color
I’m intrigued by this Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. I love the intricate patterns, and it’s fun exploring different ways to use it. It comes neatly packaged with tissue between the layers.
TIP: Be careful separating the sheets, because the pieces are easily tangled.
Another TIP: Control your glue. I have good luck with the Tombow Liquid Glue, lightly touching the tip to those skinny lines. You need to find what works for you, because a gluey mess is no fun.
For this project, I cut a corner section from the 12X12 sheet. Then, I did some further trimming to get the shape I wanted.
The shape was determined by this week’s CAS(E) this sketch challenge.
Do you see the prominent cupcake? For my prominent flower, I found a die in the Eclectic Layers Die Set that would coordinate with the Laser-Cut flowers. I used a piece of Vellum to keep the flower sheer, and attached it with a dimensional.
TIP: I colored the dimensional with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend, so the dimensional would look good while showing. I’ve used this method previously, so I knew it would stick.
Now for the background. I cut a piece of Shimmery White cardstock 4 X 5 1/4, and spritzed it with water. When it was sufficiently wet, I sprinkled Yellow Brusho Crystal Colour all over, less at the top, and spritzed some more. I let it dry, then pressed it under a heavy book, while I did something else, (probably laundry).
TIP: Have patience if you want it flat.
I was happy with my yellow background, so this is when I glued my flowers, and adhered the art piece to a Thick Very Vanilla card base.
I decided not to add a sentiment to the front, like I usually do. I thought about black for contrast, but ended up liking the delicate look. This will be an all-occasions card. I did decorate the envelope flap, though, using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

I’ve been using some of my favorite stamp sets that will be retiring May 31st. I couldn’t leave out the So Many Shells Stamp Set. The shells go perfectly with the new 2018-2019 Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper, don’t you think?
Tranquil Textures with So Many Shells
My inspiration began with this week’s Global Design Project challenge:
A Crumb Cake card base is the sand. The ocean is a piece of Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper, bordered with a darker piece from the same pack. This darker piece is also used for the net, which I cut with an Eclectic Layers die.
I left the ends loose for a floating effect. To satisfy the sketch requirements, I cut a strip of Crumb Cake, embossed it with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder, and placed it horizontally across the net. Before attaching the strip with dimensionals, I wound Linen Thread around it.
Now, for my pretty, scallop shells from the So Many Shells Stamp Set. I stamped them in Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand inks, fussy cut, and punched holes in their tops. They are securely tied with more Linen Thread, and raised on dimensionals.
The sentiments in the So Many Shells Stamp Set are beautiful, but a bit large for my space. I chose “for you” from the new 2018-2019 Itty Bitty Stamp Set. And, I added three Share What You Love Artisan Pearls. These colored pearls are so pretty!
The envelope flap is decorated with Powder Pink Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper.

I’m excited to give you a sneak peek of the new Graceful Glass Designer Vellum. It comes in a pack of 24 sheets; two of each design. There are many beautiful patterns, but my favorite is the birds in a cage.

I first cut the strip of birds from the 6X6″ piece of Designer Vellum. It cuts very easily with the Stampin’ Trim. The birds look nice in black and white, but I couldn’t wait to color them with my Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. The colors I chose match (almost) this week’s Paper Players challenge.
I colored the birds on the back side of the vellum, which gives a softer look when turning it over. Aren’t the birds pretty? Plus, it makes the black lines stand out beautifully. You can actually feel that they are raised.
Rather than gluing the birds directly to the Very Vanilla card base, I glued them to a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut the same size. I anticipated the glue dots would show, so had Black Rhinestone Jewels ready for coverage. I put a tiny dot of glue at the top and bottom of each black line. I’m happy to report, the Tombow glue didn’t show at all, but I embellished the four corners anyway.
Do you see the Very Vanilla lace detail beneath the bird cage? This is from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. Love it! I used dimensionals, so the bird cage was raised over it.
The layout for my card was inspired by Fab Friday. Can you see why I added the Laser-Cut paper? It really makes a difference.
The birds wanted to say, “Best wishes from all of us,” and this perfect sentiment is in the new stamp set, Itty, Bitty Wishes.
I decorated the envelope flap with colored dots from Share What You Love DSP. I’m sure the Paper Player’s colors are in there.
For the inside sentiment, I used the Happy Birthday Die for an extra large wish. I layered Very Vanilla on Basic Black for definition. The little bird perched on the “B” is from the Painted Glass Bundle; stamped, colored and die-cut.

How about a bottle of brew for your birthday! The Bubble Over Stamp Set has many options, and today I’m using, for the first time, the “Have A Birthday Brew!” bottle label.

Let’s start with the bottles. It’s so much fun stamping the two sizes, and cutting them with their dies from the Bottles & Bubbles Die Set. I used Marina Mist ink for the featured bottle, which matches the Marina Mist card base. It’s such a pretty blue, and even though the color is retiring, it’s still available through May 31st. I inked up the larger bottle stamp and spritzed it with water, before stamping on the Whisper White cardstock, giving it that mottled look. I used the same spritzing technique on the other two bottles, using Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide inks.
Next, I die cut their bottle caps from Champagne Foil. Aren’t they realistic?
The paper behind the bottles is one of my favorites from the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper. It makes the perfect, bubbly background. Are you wondering about the folded pocket that holds the bottles? Here I go with another challenge. Check out the sketch at TGIF.
This is how my idea originated, and I just added an extra fold, and a bow of White Twine adhered with a Glue Dot. Do you notice how the bottles are so cold they are sweating. Amazing for paper, huh? The secret is in the Clear Epoxy Shapes.
More bubbles (Glitter Enamel Dots) are surrounding the sentiment at the top of the card, “May your day BUBBLE OVER with happiness.” I placed a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock beneath the sentiment, die cut with a Petals & More Die.
The envelope flap is decorated with the reverse side of the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper, and now it’s ready to mail. You can be sure, this will only go to a beer appreciating friend.

Hand Delivered Thank You Card
I can’t get over how cute this girl is! This Host Stamp Set, Hand Delivered, prepares the girl to make deliveries for all occasions. She has balloons, a cake, a stack of books, and a sign that could say just about anything. Today, the sign she is holding (lifted on dimensionals) says “thank you.”
You can see from the picture, she is wearing the striped skirt. It needed to be placed just right, inside the stamped image with her legs, so my Stamparatus came in handy.
It isn’t easy to explain, if you aren’t familiar with the Stamparatus, so here is the Stampin’ Up video explaining it.
Once I had my black and white stamped images, it was time to color. I just received the package of Stampin’ Writes in the new colors, and I was anxious to put them to paper. You’re going to love Petal Pink, because it’s a great skin color. That’s what I used on her hands and legs. I used Granny Apple Green and Mint Macaron on her skirt and shoes, and Coastal Cabana on her sign.
These colors coordinate beautifully with two prints from the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper. I cut rectangles of the DSP to fit this week’s CAS(E) this sketch, along with solid cardstock that would serve as 1/16″ layering borders. The girl is layered on Mint Macaron, the flowers on Sweet Sugarplum, and the dots on Wild Wasabi.
The Bermuda Bay ribbon is from the Sale-A-Bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack.
Why not add one more print to decorate the envelope? This is Mint Macaron Designer Series Paper, from the same collection as the background I used for photographing. I don’t know what I’d do without this 12 X12″ Designer Series Paper!

There is “lots to love” in the Lots To Love Box Die Set, which I chose to feature today. I have a “thing” for hearts, and they aren’t meant just for Valentine’s Day. This shaker card and gift box are for an Anniversary.

Let’s start with the card first. I glued a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper to cardstock, so it would be durable for a shaker card. The pretty, slim heart in this die set was used to cut the shape that I covered on the back with a small Window Sheet.
While I was back there, I ran Adhesive Strips around the heart, and the entire border. There can be gaps around the border, but not around the heart, because you don’t want your sequins escaping. Adhesive Strips bend, so it isn’t difficult.
TIP: Don’t place the strips too close to the edge, or they’ll show from the front.
The sequins are from two collections: Silver and Clear from the Metallic Assortment (current) and Mint Macaron from the Fancy Frost Assortment (retired). I placed another piece of Wood Textures DSP in a lighter shade over the heart hole, trapping my sequins.
Before flipping it over and adhering the entire piece to a Sahara Sand card base, I tied some Mint Macaron Nature’s Twine along the side.
The two Silver Foil sprigs I added are from the Lovely Laurel Die Set. It’s in the Clearance Rack, if you’re interested. I’ve used this die on some of my favorite cards. Sometimes I feel I get my money’s worth from a single die!
The same piece of lighter Wood Textures DSP was used for die cutting the words. “Amazing” is from the current die set, Celebrate You, and “love” is from the retiring set, Lovely Words. I snipped off the “ly,” and layered the words to make them nice and thick.
For the inside, I stamped “Happy Anniversary” from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip ink on Wood Textures DSP. The stamp set and ink color are both retiring. Chocolate Chip has been my “go to” whenever I wanted to stamp a sentiment in a dark color other than Basic Black. And, don’t we need large numbers?
Now, for the gift box. I love this box, because it’s so easy to make. You just use the die to cut two pieces, fold on the score lines, and fasten together along two sides with Tear Tape. I added a third piece of tape to keep one end closed.
The True Gentleman Designer Series Paper I used is retiring, but the Vanilla Lace Ribbon is current. Do you recognize the wooden heart? Yep, it’s from the hole in the card. I punched a hole in the corner of the heart, and tied it with Metallic Thread. I couldn’t let it go to waste!
