Round We Go for Global Design Project 455

BREAKING NEWS: Tomorrow July 23, Stamping Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING. It’s one day only with a $75.00 minimum order.

This week’s Global Design Project is a theme challenge: circles. I thought it would be fun to combine Round We Go Dies with Full of Life Designer Paper. The bright colors and circles are great for a “happy birthday” card.

By Su Mohr for GDP 455; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Round We Go Dies, Full Of Life DSP, Country Birdhouse Stamp Set, Delicate Forest Dies, Iridescent Striped Trim; #roundwego #fulloflife #birthdaycards #circlesoncards #crafting #cardmaking #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #papercrafting #gdp455 #stampinup #artisandesignteam #sumohr

Round We Go Pinwheel

I chose a pattern, with all the colors, to make the large pinwheel. The 5 1/4″ X 1 1/2″ Round We Go Die has score lines, which makes for easy folding, in and out, to create the pinwheel. After cutting and folding two pieces of Full Of Life Designer Paper, I glued the ends together (tab end to flat end). Then, I cut a 2″ circle with a Round We Go Die, covered it with glue, and placed it on top of the back side of the pinwheel. It was held it in place with an acrylic block, giving it time to set.

The background is another pattern of Full Of Life Designer Paper, 3 3/4″ X 5 “. I backed it with Basic Black Cardstock cut 1/8″ larger, giving it a 1/16″ border. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4”.

The sentiment is from the Country Birdhouse Stamp Set. I stamped “happy birthday” in Memento Black Ink, used a Delicate Forest Die for cutting, and secured the label with Tear & Tape. Prior to attaching the label, I added loops of Iridescent Striped Trim to the back with Glue Dots.

Sunset for Global Design Project 454

A moon, from the Under The Moon Stamp Set, became a sun for this week’s sketch challenge at Global Design Project. I began with Full Of Life Designer Paper, 2 3/4 X 6″. Doesn’t it look like the sky at sunset? To create the sun, I used an Under The Moon stamp with Pumpkin Pie Ink. Then, I backed the designer paper with Basic Black Cardstock 2 7/8″ X 6″. After letting the glue dry for a bit, I cut the top and bottom, making the panel 2 7/8″ X 5 1/2″ . I did this so the top and bottom edges of the panel would be perfectly even with the card base.

Featuring: Under The Moon Stamp Set, So Swirly Embossing Folder, Full Of Life DSP, Shiny Sequins; #underthemoon #soswirly #fulloflife #sunsets #sun #gdp454 #crafting #papercrafting #handmadecards #diy #cardmaking #stampinup #artisandesignteam #sumohr

Sunset

The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. After giving texture to the card base with the So Swirly Embossing Folder, I glued the panel in place.

To complete the design, I added a sentiment from the Delicate Forest Stamp Set. I stamped, “You make good things better,” in Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock. After stamping, I used its Delicate Forest Die for cutting, and attached it with Mini Dimensionals. To make the sunset sparkle, I added Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins.

Layers Of Beauty for Global Design Project 453

This week’s Global Design Project is a fun color challenge, using Pretty In Pink, Basic Beige, and Pecan Pie. I chose the Layers Of Beauty Bundle to show-off this beautiful color combination. This set enables you to paint like a pro. Trust me! I Began by stamping the large floral image, from the Layers Of Beauty Stamp Set, in Pecan Pie Ink on Basic White Cardstock.

Featuring: Layers Of Beauty Bundle, Birch Wood Embossing Folder, Blooming Pearls; #layersofbeauty #roses #flowersoncards #stenciling #masksoncards #bloomingpearls #Delicateforest #gdp453 #colorcombos #colorchallenge #handmadecardshandcrafted #crafting #cardmaking #masking #stampinup #stamping #sumohr #artisandesignteam

Layers Of Beauty

This was followed by using the Layers Of Beauty Decorative Masks on top of the stamped image. The masks (stencils) are numbered 1-5, and used in that order. I applied Pretty In Pink Ink with a Blending Brush on 1-3, and Basic Beige Ink on 4-5.  I matched the notches on the corner of the mask to keep it even, and held it in place with my hand.

After coloring, I used its Layers Of Beauty Die for cutting.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″, embossed with a new embossing folder, Birch Wood. It will be available in the the upcoming 2024 September-December Mini Catalog. The embossed layer is glued to Pecan Pie Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, which is glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “You make my heart smile,” is in the Layers Of Beauty Stamp Set. I stamped it in Pecan Pie Ink, used a Delicate Forest Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. To complete the design, I added three Blooming Pearls. The Blooming Pearls are my gift for the month of July; read below how you can earn them.

Magnolia Mood for Global Design Project 452

Welcome to July! For this week’s Global Design Project, I began with the beautiful, pink, cardstock, named Bubble Bath. After cutting the card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I decided to feature the Magnolia Mood Bundle. I used the large, intricate, Magnolia Mood die to cut from a layer of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.

BY Su Mohr for GDP 452; Featuring: Magnolia Mood Bundle, Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set, Unbounded Love Dies, So Swirly Embossing Folder; #magnoliamood #magnolias # #thoughtfulexpressions #unboundedlove #soswirly #pearls #CASE #gdp452 #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stamping #stampinup #artisandesignteam #sumohr

Magnolia Blooms

After removing the die-cut, from the layer, I embossed the layer with the So Swirly Embossing Folder. Then, I glued the layer to the Bubble Bath card front, and glued the die-cut back in its hole.

Next, I stamped magnolias from the Magnolia Mood Stamp Set in Basic Gray Ink, used its Magnolia Mood Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

The sentiment, “You’re in my thoughts today,” is from the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink, used an Unbounded Love Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

To complete the design, I cut sprigs, using an Unbounded Love Die, from White Glimmer Specialty Paper. And, I added three, Iridescent Pearls to the sentiment label.

I was inspired by Rose Marie Coleman. Look for all of the Global Design Project Designers on Facebook and Instagram. Share and tag #GDP452 to play along with this challenge.

I was also inspired by the Magnolia Tree in our yard. The blossoms are so pretty!

Beyond In Color Butterflies

We have a fun theme at Global Design Project this week: “Winged Things.” I thought the butterflies, from the Paper Pumpkin Thanks & Beyond Dies, would be perfect. I began by cutting the butterflies from 2024-2026 In Color 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper in three colors: Pretty In Pink, Peach Pie, and Petunia Pop.

By Su Mohr for GDP 451; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Beyond Butterflies

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Prior to gluing, I stamped the layer, with the same three colors as the butterflies, with cloud stamps from Under The Moon Stamp Set. Then, I added some black dots, created by flicking with a Stampin’ Blend.

The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink, Used a Spotlight On Nature Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

After gluing the butterflies in place, I embellished them with Rainbow Self Adhesive Dots in matching colors.

Full Of Life Birthday Card

This week’s Global Design Project is a fun sketch challenge, and I decided to create a clean & simple birthday card. I began with a background of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, given texture with the So Swirly Embossing Folder. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

By Su Mohr for GDP 450; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Full Of Life DSP, Friends For Life, So Sincere Stamp Set, So Swirly Embossing Folder; #fulloflife #friendsforlife #soswirly #sosincere #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stampinup #birthdaycards #cardsketches #gdp450 #artisandesignteam #verticalsentiments

Vertical Happy Birthday

Full Of Life Designer Paper is great for cheery birthday cards, and I cut one of the colorful patterns in a 3 1/2″ X 3 1/2″ square. Then, I backed it with Basic Black Cardstock, 1/8″ larger, to give it a 1/16″ border that would make the colors pop. After gluing the two together, I attached it to the card front with Dimensionals.

I love this crooked  label, cut with a Friends For Life Die. It fit the Global Design Project sketch nicely, with the vertical sentiment. “Happy Birthday” is from the So Sincere Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock. I attached it with Mini Dimensionals, doubled the ones at the top for extra height support, and tied a bow of Baker’s Twine around the bottom. For some sparkle, I added some Iridescent Adhesive Backed Discs. Aren’t they pretty?

The Friends For Life Bundle was meant to coordinate with the Full Of Life Designer Paper. It’s pictured in my Product List below, and clicking on it will take you to my store for ordering. Don’t miss out on the 20% discount, which is only for the month of June.
