“Water creatures” is the theme for this week’s Global Design Project. The stamp sets I chose have wonderful images, which led to #simplestamping, a technique using just stamps, ink, and paper. I love using dies, embellishments, embossing folders, and dimensionals, but sometimes I prefer super simple.
I began by stamping a wave from the Waves Of Inspiration Stamp Set, in Lost Lagoon Ink, on Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″. This layer was glued to a Lost Lagoon card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Next, I stamped, “so glad you’re in this world with me,” in Memento Black Ink. This sentiment is from the Scenic Wonders Stamp Set.
Below the sentiment is a school of fish, from the Beauty Of The Deep Stamp Set.
The fish were stamped in three colors of yellow ink: Crushed Curry, Lemon Lolly, and Daffodil Delight. The dots, also from the Beauty Of The Deep Stamp Set, were stamped in Lost Lagoon Ink.

This weeks Global Design Project is a fun sketch. See how our designers used the sketch, then create your own design, and hang it in our gallery.
I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Fresh As a Daisy Designer Paper in Boho Blue, 5 1/4″ X 4″. The next layer is Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper in Copper Clay, 5 1/4″ X 2 1/2. The top layer is patterned, Fresh As A daisy Designer Paper, 4 1/2″ X 3 1/4″, bordered with Copper Clay, 3 5/8″ X 4 5/8″.
Prior to gluing the layers together, I used a Basics 3D Embossing Folder to give texture to the patterned daisies. Dots make me happy!
This dotted embossing folder is not in the catalog, but is an Online Exclusive in a package of three embossing folders. You can see the details in my Product List below.
To make the garden of daisies come alive, I added two butterflies from the Meadow Dies Set. The entire die set is wonderful, and I love the butterflies, simply die-cut from Basic White Cardstock. Can you see the impressions on the wings?

To complete the sketch, I used a sentiment from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set. I stamped, “sunshine to brighten your day,” in Copper Clay Ink, used a Sending Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! released a Spanish stamp set, Texturas Naturales, which has an English version, Earthen Textures. Both come bundled with dies, favorites from the Annual Catalog, which you can see in my Product List below.
I love using the new, 2023-2025 In Colors with this set: Boho Blue, Wild Wheat, and Pebbled Path.
“I appreciate your friendship”
First, I cut a stencil from Basic White Cardstock, 4 ” X 5 1/4″, using the third largest Deckled Rectangles Die. Then, I placed it on top of Basic White Cardstock, the same size, and smoothed on Boho Blue Ink with a Blending Brush. Second, I stamped branches from the Texturas Naturales Stamp Set; one in Pebbled Path Ink, and one in Wild Wheat Ink. Third, I glued the layer to a Pebbled Path card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Next, I stamped a pot in Pebbled Path Ink, used its die for cutting, and added a handled top to the pot, cut from Pebbled Path Cardstock with an Earthen Textures Die. After attaching the pot with Dimensionals, I cut three branches from Wild Wheat Cardstock, and glued them in place.
One more branch was cut from Basic White Cardstock, which I used as a base for the pot.
To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment, “agradezco tu amistad,” in Pebbled Path Ink. Then I used the smallest Deckled Rectangles Die, cutting twice, to cut it to size, and attached it with a Dimensional.
Translated, the sentiment is ” I appreciate your friendship.”

For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE (copy and selectively edit) Susan Wong’s fun project.

I love Susan’s night sky and green trees, and couldn’t wait to give it a try. First, I used the largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut a hole in scratch paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, making a stencil. I placed the stencil on top of Basic White Cardstock of equal size, securing it with Painter’s Tape.
God’s Blessings
Second, I applied three colors of blue ink with Blending Brushes, starting at the bottom with Tahitian Tide. Third, I moved to the top and applied Night of Navy, finishing in the middle with Blueberry Bushel Ink. It’s always fun to remove the stencil, and see what lies beneath! To complete my sky, I added tiny dots of Wink of Stella, making perfect little stars.
Before gluing my sky to a Night Of Navy card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy Ink. “God’s blessings to you” is from the Hope & Peace Stamp Set, available in Online Exclusives, which you can find by clicking on its picture in my Product List below.
This is my first Christmas card for 2023, although, this sentiment could be for many occasions.
To complete the design, I cut three trees from Shaded Spruce and Garden Green Cardstock, and attached them with Dimensionals. The tree is from the Reindeer Die Set, a favorite from last year, and is in our current Annual Catalog. The Regal Reindeer Stamp Set has a darling, Gray Granite, bunny, who hopped on at the last minute. Think we should let him stay?

This week’s Global Design Project is all about stripes, and the Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper has wonderful stripes! You can see all of the patterns in my Product List below.
I chose Lemon Lolly stripes for my background, 3 5/8″ X 4 7/8″, bordered by Zoo Crew Designer Paper, 3 3/4″ X 5″. After gluing the two together, I attached it with Dimensionals to a Lemon Lime Twist card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Stripes and a Bird
Next, I stamped the darling, small, bird from the Bird’s Eye View Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and colored her with Stampin’ Blends. She needed at place to perch, so I used a Gorgeously Made die to cut a “tree” from Masterfully Made Designer Paper. After gluing the center of the tree, in the middle of the background, I gently lifted the ends of the branches, that weren’t glued, for dimension.
The sentiment, “thinking of you,” is from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used its Wonderful Thoughts Die for cutting. The sentiment gives the tree a nice base, by attaching it with Dimensionals at the bottom of the “trunk.”
An afterthought was to decorate the envelope flap with the Stripes Embossing Folder. More stripes! It’s a narrow embossing folder, and comes with a Splatters Embossing Folder, which you can see in my Product List below.

This weeks Global Design Project is a fun sketch. See how our designers used the sketch, then create your own design, and hang it in our gallery.
I began by stamping the artistic leaves from the Inked & Tiled Stamp Set. They were stamped in Old Olive Ink on two corners of Basic White Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″.
Leaves and Blossoms
After stamping the leaves, I embossed the cardstock with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder. This was glued to Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper in a striped pattern on a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Next, I cut the blossoms from Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper, using a Dainty Delights Die. The die has two attached blossoms, so I ran it through extra times, snipped the third blossoms for my design, and glued them in place.
The small “thanks” is from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set, stamped in Blackberry Ink, cut with its Wonderful Thoughts Die, and glued in place.
