JOY for Global Design Project

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

It’s time for the “Christmas in July” theme at Global Design Project. Hopefully, our projects will inspire you to get a head start on your holiday cards.

My card began with “JOY,” created with Alphabet a La Mode Dies and Real Red Cardstock. The letters were given dimension by adhering a Foam Adhesive Sheet to the Real Red Cardstock, before placing the letters on top, and running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Christmas “JOY”

Next, I needed a limb for hanging the letters, which I found in the Delightful Wishes die set. The Country Woods Designer Paper, used for cutting, gave it a realistic look. After attaching “JOY,” I fussy cut a bird from Nests Of Winter Designer Paper, and attached her with Dimensionals.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, embossed with the Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder. This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Beautiful Gallery for Global Design Project

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

This week’s Global Design Project is a very inspiring sketch. It could be used with any stamp set or bundle! After you check out our designs, let’s see what you create. Don’t forget to tag it #gdp506.

I decided to use it with one of my favorite designer papers, Beautiful Gallery, along with Beautiful Motifs Dies that are in the suite. I used two of the Beautiful Motifs Dies to cut from different areas of the designer paper, and backed the die-cuts with cardstock for thickness.

Featuring: Beautiful Gallery DSP, Beautiful Motifs Dies, Glass Embossing Folder, Dragonflies, Unbounded Love Stamp Set; #beautifulgallery #beautifulmotifs #glassembossing #dragonflies #unboundedlove #cardmaking #handmadecards #gdp506 #globaldesignproject #stampinup

Beautiful Gallery

Next, I glued the Beautiful Motifs die-cuts to another pattern of Beautiful Gallery Designer Paper, 4 1/8″ X 2 7/8″. This was backed with Mossy Meadow Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 3″, and glued to the Basic Beige card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Prior to gluing, I gave the card base texture with the Glass Embossing Folder.

“Have a blessed day” is from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set. I stamped it in Mossy Meadow Ink on Basic Beige Cardstock, 2 1/8″ X 1/2″, backed it with Mossy Meadow Cardstock, 2 1/4″ X 5/8″, and attached it with Dimensionals. I completed the design with three, gold, dragonflies.

Beautiful Butterflies for Global Design Project

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Old Olive, Strawberry Slush, and Pretty Peacock. I began with a Beautiful Butterflies Die, cutting  butterfly wings from 2025-2027 In Color Designer Paper in Strawberry Slush. Then, I used a Beautiful Butterflies Die to cut the butterfly’s body from Pretty Peacock Cardstock.

By Su Mohr for GDP 505; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Beautiful Butterflies, Mixed Labels, Elements Of Text, Textured Notes Dies, Sparkle Dots; #beautifulbutterflies #mixedlabels #texturednotesdies #elementsoftext #colorchallenge #gdp505 #handmadecards #cardmaking #stampinup

Butterfly and Text

Next, an Elements Of Text Stamp was used to stamp script in Old Olive Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After stamping, I used the second largest Textured Notes Die to cut Basic White Cardstock. This layer was glued to a Pretty Peacock card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1’2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued the butterfly’s body in place, leaving her “see-through” wings free to fly.

“For a great friend” is from the Mixed labels Stamp Set. I stamped it in Old Olive Ink, used a Beautiful Butterflies Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. This “fancy” butterfly wanted to sparkle, so I gave her body some Low-Profile Sparkle Dots.

Spring Corners for Global Design Project

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE the talented, Mikaela Titheridge. I’m using Mikaela’s pastel colors for a “clean & simple” birthday card.

I began by creating a stencil with a Stylish Shapes Die (second, largest circle) and Vellum Cardstock. Holding the stencil in place with my hand, I applied the colors (Balmy Blue, Lemon Lolly, and Pretty In Pink) to Basic White Cardstock.

By Su Mohr for GDP 504; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Pastel Circles Birthday

Next, I used the same Textured Notes Die, as Mikaela, to cut the stenciled cardstock.

Before attaching my circles to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I stamped balloons and “happy birthday” in Memento Black Ink.  These stamps are in the Spring Corners Stamp Set. To complete my “clean & simple” birthday card, I added three, pretty, Rainbow Dots in matching pastel colors.

Impressions Abloom for Global Design Project

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

This week’s Global Design Project Challenge is for everyone! That’s right, everyone, because who doesn’t love flowers?! I decided to use a newer, online exclusives bundle, Impressions Abloom. This bundle is included in the Suite Sale that has been going on for the month of June. But, this is the last day of June, so take advantage of your BOGO 50% off savings today!

I began with Gray Granite Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and used an Impressions Bloom Die to cut an oval from the center. Before gluing it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I used the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder to give it texture.

By Su Mohr for GDP 503; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Impressions Abloom Bundle, Forever Plaid Embossing Folder, Antique Pearls; #impressionsabloom #plaidembossing #antiquepearls #gdp503 #flowertheme #cardchallenge #stampinup #handmadecards #cardmaking #handcrafted #diy #papercrafting #thankyoucards

Impressions Abloom Oval

Next, I stamped three flowers, from the Bloom Impressions Stamp Set, in Pretty In Pink Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I also stamped the flower centers in Gray Granite Ink. Then, I used Bloom Impressions dies for cutting. You’ll love these dies, because they can cut texture at the same time! For the leaves, I colored Basic White Cardstock with a Blending Brush and Old Olive Ink, and used Bloom Impressions Dies for cutting. Aren’t the veins fantastic?

Prior to gluing the oval frame, I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso Ink on the card front. “I appreciate you” is in the Impressions Abloom Stamp Set. After gluing the leaves to the flowers, and attaching them with Dimensionals, I completed the card by adding three, Antique Pearls.

I’m also sharing with TGIF Challenges.

Thankful Garden for Global Design Project

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch challenge, which was very inspirational. See how I used the sketch, then create your own project. Don’t forget to post it on social media, and tag it #gdp502.

I began by using Stampin’ Blends to paint four stripes on Basic White Cardstock. The colors are, top to bottom: Petunia Pop, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, and Old Olive. I used four brush strokes per color, looking at the sketch for length. Then, I stamped a Thankful Garden stamp in Memento Black Ink on top of the stripes.

Featuring: Thankful Garden Stamp Set, Unbounded Love Bundle, Textured Notes Dies, Damask Designs Embossing Folder, Neutral Matte Dots, Stampin' Blends; #thankfulgarden #unboundedlove #texturednotes #damask #gdp502 #cardsketch #sketchchallenge #handmadecards #handcrafted #cardmaking #diy #papercrafting #stampinup

Thankful Garden Stripes

Next, I used the second largest Textured Notes Die for cutting. I love these dies, because of the tiny, detailed borders, and they eliminate measuring! You can see all of the sizes in my Product List below.

The cardstock layered behind the white cardstock is Fresh Freesia, 4″ X 5 1/4″, given texture with the Damask Designs Embossing Folder. Then, I glued the layers to a Petunia Pop card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“Friend” is from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set. I stamped it in memento Black Ink on basic White Cardstock, used an Unbounded Love Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. Then, I added some black, Neutral Matte Dots, just for fun!
