I’ve always loved giving and receiving valentines, and it’s even more fun, now that I make them by hand.

Sent With Love
Today’s Valentine has a watercolored wash background that I prepared a while ago. I remember using Thick Whisper White Cardstock with Flirty Flamingo Ink, letting water wash over it until it became this pretty, pastel pink. While it was still damp, I let it dry under the weight of heavy books.
Today, I trimmed the top and bottom with a Be Mine Stitched Die, and embossed with the Scripty Embossing Folder.
The heart is from the same die set, where I left the center cut intact.

“Sent with love” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die.
I “tied” the sentiment to the heart with Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.

The Valentine’s Day colors are from Global Design Project.

And, I interpreted the circle as a heart in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Raise your hand if you love birthday cake! And, decorated with gorgeous flowers, who could resist?

3D Birthday Cake
This cake happens to be in a FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Happy Birthday To You. Plus, Stampin’ Up! has recently released “Product Coordination,” available to Demonstrators now, and customers February 4th, which includes Birthday Dies. You can check out the Birthday Dies in my Product List.

Before using my new Birthday Die to cut the cake, I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and colored it with four Stampin’ Blends: Light and Dark Rich Razzleberry, Dark Poppy Parade, and Light Old Olive.

The cake stamp already has a stand, which I snipped away, so I could place the cake on its new, die-cut stand. I used Nobel Peacock Foil in Old Olive, so the stand would have nice shine. I glued the stand to the bottom of the cake, and rounded both with my fingers, making it 3D. Placing Foam Adhesive Strips in the center guaranteed it would hold its shape.

For the background, I used a piece of 6X6 Regals Designer Paper, which I cut with a Stitched So Sweetly Die. This stripe is from the previous catalog, but you can see the four new patterns in my Product List. I glued this to Old Olive Cardstock, on a Thick Whisper White card base.
“Happy Birthday” is from the Happy Birthday To You Stamp Set, stamped in memento Black Ink, and cut with a Stitched so Sweetly Die.

I’m celebrating with Global Design Project’s theme.

Thank you, Paper Players, for the beautiful colors.

Honey bees and Valentines go together, don’t you think? We often call our loved ones “Honey,” so it seems natural to combine the two.

Bee Mine
Consequently, I couldn’t resist the play on words with “bee” mine. “M-i-n-e” was made with the Hand-Lettered Prose Die Set and Gold Foil. These letters come in handy for saying exactly what you need to say. I made the letters extra special by embossing them with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, and layering them for thickness.
The bee was also cut from Gold Foil, using a Detailed Bee Die. Isn’t she fabulous?

The large heart, and hearts along the bottom are from the Be Mine Stitched Die Set in the Annual Catalog. The center of the large heart is the new, Golden Honey Designer Paper, and there’s a scalloped edge of Thick Whisper White Cardstock. I used more Gold Foil for the small hearts.

The background is Whisper White Cardstock embossed with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, layered on a Thick Whisper White card base. Not all Valentines have to be red or pink! Although, this design would look great in those colors. Hmmm, I can’t wait to get started!

My layout was inspired by Global Design Project.

Thanks so much for visiting. If you’d like details on today’s supplies click on the pictures in my Product List. You’ll notice that the Golden Honey Designer Paper has a price of $0.00. That’s because it is FREE with a qualifying order of $50 during Sale-A-Bration.

Did you know that 2020 is the Chinese Year of the Rat? Therefore, we need this little mouse! He really is cute, isn’t he?

Little Hello Mouse
My mouse is from the 2020 Special Someone Stamp Set, that you can order, starting January 3rd. The stamp set is in my Product List below, which you can click on to see all the cuteness that it includes.
You’ll notice that there are solid stamps, and detailed stamps, because this is a “two-step” stamp set. First, I stamped the solid portion of the mouse in Sahara Sand Ink, followed by the detailed mouse in Early Espresso Ink, on Whisper White Cardstock.
TIP: With the help of the Stamparatus, matching was simplified; just make sure the tail is lined up.

Then, I used two Ornate Frames Dies for cutting the mouse, and the Shaded Spruce frame, surrounding the mouse. I love how these fit together! Additionally, I matched the fancy frame to the Shaded Spruce card base.
For the background, I randomly stamped a flower, also from the Special Someone Stamp Set, in Cherry Cobbler Ink on Whisper White Cardstock.

“A Little Hello” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. I used the smallest Stitched So Sweetly Die for cutting, and was happy the sentiment fit so perfectly.

Today’s colors were inspired by Global Design Project.

Thank you for stopping by. Happy New Year, and remember the mouse!

Today’s card was designed around a Stitched Nested Labels die-cut, the irregular hexagon that’s holding “Thank You.”

Lacey Thank You
I wanted to use this die, because of the challenge at Global Design Project.

I also wanted to use the new 2020 Peaceful Poppies Designer Paper. It’s fabulous, and I couldn’t wait to cut into it! The first layer on the card is a beautiful, all-over floral print, which I adhered to a Thick Whisper White card base.
Next, I chose a coordinating stripe in Pool Party, and used the second to largest, Stitched Nested Labels Die, for cutting. Then, I layered the the die-cut on a second die-cut for thickness, and added Dimensionals. Doesn’t it look like a worn piece of denim?

Beneath the hexagon is a layer of Whisper White Cardstock, cut with Stitched Lace Dies. I trimmed the four sides with the long, skinny, accompanying die.
TIP: By using a foam mat and bristle brush, very few holes had to be individually poked. Also, I used a piece of cardstock slightly larger than the die, so the cardstock could be peeled away from the die.

Just one more die-cut was needed to complete my card, Thank You from Thick Whisper White Cardstock.

You can click on the pictures in my Product List to see details of today’s supplies. The dies are available now, and you can order the Peaceful Poppies DSP on Jan. 3, 2020.
“Thank You” for visiting me today!

More “Christmas Cheer” for today’s card, featuring reindeer.

Framed Deer
I began by stamping the deer from the Dashing Deer Stamp set in Soft Suede Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I used their Detailed Deer dies for cutting.
TIP: I used the Stamparatus, stamping the deer a couple times, to give them nice, smooth, fur.

The frames were made with the Ornate Frames Die Set, Shaded Spruce Cardstock, and holly from Wrapped In Plaid Designer Paper. The 1/2″ strip behind the frames is also Wrapped In Plaid DSP. Doesn’t it look like ribbon?
“Christmas Cheer” is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set, stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die.
I used the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder with the Whisper White layer that is on a Shaded Spruce card base.

Global Design Project was my inspiration.

It was such a nice surprise, and an honor to have the GDP designers choose my card as a winner last week. Thank you!

Sparkling Boughs
