Floral Theme for the Kre8tors July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Kre8tors July Blog Hop, where “floral” is the theme.

It’s hard to believe that next month, demonstrators will be seeing the new Stampin’ Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog, but we will! This made me think of my favorite “year-round” set from last year’s Holiday Catalog that carried over into the Annual Catalog. Let me re-introduce the First Frost Stamp Set and Frosted Bouquet Dies, which can be ordered right now!

Year-round Bouquet

I began with a Thick Whisper White card base, and a rectangle of Thick Whisper White Cardstock that I watercolored with my Aqua Painter and Seaside Spray Ink. This was done by transferring the ink from the ink pad to an acrylic Clear Block, and picking up the color with the Aqua Painter brush. In addition to brushing across the paper, I flicked some spots for interest. Then, I trimmed it to size, creating a scalloped edge, with a Be Mine Stitched Die.

The three flowers were stamped in Terracotta Tile Ink on Whisper White cardstock, and cut with their die. Next, I stamped the middle branch in Pear Pizzazz Ink, and used it’s die for cutting. The leaves on the left were cut with a die from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock, and the two sprigs were cut with a die from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and Whisper White Cardstock. I gave the cuttings and background texture with the Subtle Texture Embossing Folder.

The sentiment, “for you,” is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set, which I stamped in Pear Pizzazz Ink on Whisper White cardstock. It’s cute, little, die is in the Bouquet Bunch Die Set, with a real hole for the Linen Thread tie.

To complete the card, I decorated the envelope flap with the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder, shown in the first picture.

The colors were inspired by Global Design Project. What a pretty combination!

Sweet Silhouettes Dandelion Sympathy Card

Today’s sympathy card is featuring two, Sweet Silhouettes, dandelions.

By Su Mohr for GDP and TGIF; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Sweet Silhouettes Dies, Well Written Dies, Subtle Texture embossing, Rectangles Stitched Dies, Well Said Stamp set; #sympathycards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #sweetsilhouettes #wellwritten #wellsaid #cardchallenges

Dandelion Sympathy

The dandelions were cut from Vellum Cardstock with a Sweet Silhouettes Die, and lightly glued to a Basic Gray Cardstock background. I wanted the dandelions to have an “airy” feel, and the Vellum was perfect for the task. It’s surprising how strong Vellum is!

The teardrops are from a retired pack of epoxy drops, and the shape is so perfect, I had to use them.  I’ve listed the new pack of Epoxy Droplets in my Product List.

The Basic Gray background is embossed with Subtle Texture, glued to the Smoky Slate card base, and framed with a piece of 6X6 Seaside Spray Designer Series Paper. The frame and background were made with Stitched Rectangles Dies.

The word,”sympathy,” is from the Well Written Die Set, cut from Smoky Slate Cardstock, and doubled for thickness. The sentiment is continued on the inside with words from the Well Said Stamp Set, “Know that love, prayers, and caring surround you today.”

I completed the envelope by embossing the flap with the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder, so it’s ready to send.

Two challenges were on my mind as I made today’s card.

I appreciate you stopping by, and thank you for shopping at my store!

Gate Fold Gingerbread Christmas Card

Today’s gate fold Gingerbread Christmas card is sweet as can be. A gate fold card offers something a little different, while still fitting in our medium envelope.

By Su Mohr for GDP165 and PP419; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring Cookie-Cutter Christmas stam set, Cookie Cutter punch, Buffalo Check background stamp, Detailed Deer dies, Hometown Greetings dies; #gingerbread #christmascards #holidaycards #handmadecards #diy xmascards #crafts fancyfoldcards #gatefoldcards #stampinup

Gingerbread Friends

The card base is cut lengthwise from 8 1/2″ X 11″ Merry Merlot cardstock, measuring 4 1/4″ X 11.” Scoring each end at 2 3/4,” makes the two sides meet in the center.

I decorated each side with my own DSP, created with the Buffalo Check background stamp. Using my Stamparatus, I inked the stamp with Merry Merlot, and stamped on Whisper White cardstock. Then, I trimmed two pieces, 2 1/4″ X 4,” and glued them to the card front.

My gingerbread friends (Cookie-Cutter Christmas stamp set) were created by stamping them in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock, and using the Cookie Cutter punch for cutting. These good friends look alike, and think alike. Can you believe they picked out identical tree gifts (Tranquil Tide cardstock) for each other?

Before looking inside, check out the corner detail (Detailed Deer die set) made of sugar (Sparkle Glimmer Paper).

Now for the inside, where the Whisper White cardstock measures 5 1/4″ X 4.”  I stamped the sentiment from the Cookie-Cutter Christmas stamp set in Crumb Cake ink, “Wishing you a season as sweet and joyful as the friendship we share.”

This picture will show you where my gingerbread friends found their Christmas trees; cropped right from a die in the Hometown Greetings die set.

The Merry Merlot rectangle (Swirly Frames stamp set) completes the look for the inside of today’s gate fold card.

Two challenges were my inspiration for today’s card. The theme “Sweet Treats” at Paper Players:

Quick & Easy Detailed Deer Tag Card

I was in the mood for a “quick & easy” Christmas card today. The Detailed Deer dies create beautiful cards, without needing much in additional elements.

By Su Mohr for GDP162; Click READ or VISIt to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Detailed Deer dies, Botanical Tags dies, Copper Foil, Simple Stripes embossing, Banner Triple Punch; #christmascards #detaileddeer #handmadecards #botanicaltags #tagsoncards #joyousnoel #tistheseason #quickandeasy

Copper Foil Deer

This deer was cut from Copper Foil, and then rolled through the Big Shot with the Subtle Textured embossing folder. To coordinate with his Copper fur, I found a piece of Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper in Merry Merlot with copper highlights. I cut a 2″ strip of the DSP, and used the Banner Triple Punch on the bottom. For the top, I used a die from the Botanical Tags die set.

I wanted to use a tag on today’s “quick & easy” card,  because of the challenge at Global Design Project.

The Joyous Noel DSP has some Gray Granite also, so this is the color I chose for layering on the Merry Merlot card base. For some extra dimension, I embossed the Gray Granite layer with the Simple Stripes embossing folder.

The sentiment, “Tis the Season,” from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, is stamped between the lines in Merry Merlot ink. To complete the design, I added three Copper Foil doodads from the Detailed Deer die set.

A Detailed Deer could combine with all of the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper to make a stack of “Quick & Easy” Christmas cards. I’ll be making more of these!

Thanks for visiting today. Keep scrolling to see my short supply list.

Fall Leaves Anniversary Card

Fall is in the air, and falling leaves are absolutely gorgeous! I used 8 colors of ink and 17 small leaves on today’s Anniversary card.

The Very Vanilla envelope is embossed by the Petal Burst embossing folder, matching the Very Vanilla card base.

By Su Mohr for GDP159 and PP413; Click Read to go to my blog for details! Featuring: In the Woods die set, Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, Bouquet Bunch dies, Stampin' Up ink pads; #anniversarycards #handmadecards #inthewoods #beautifulbouquet #bouquetbunch #treesoncards #fall #fallleaves

Fall in Love

This card began with the fabulous tree from In The Woods die set. I die cut three trees from Wood Textures Designer Series paper, and layered them for thickness. As I was positioning them on a panel of Sahara Sand cardstock, I noticed they formed a heart shape. I decided to take this one step further, and use a die to cut a definite heart. To give this Sahara Sand panel some texture, I ran it through the Big Shot using the Subtle Textured embossing folder.

The Beautiful Bouquet stamp set has the small leaf I needed to stamp my colorful leaves. The leaf colors are: Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Rich Razzleberry, Real Red, Mango Melody, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, and Cajun Craze.

I used the die from the Bouquet Bunch die set for cutting the leaves. To make the leaves appear as floating, I placed each leaf on half of a Mini-Dimensional.

I was excited to find the perfect sentiment for a couple celebrating many years together. The sentiment is in the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, “Love isn’t in the falling…..It’s in the staying there.” I stamped it in Soft Suede ink right on top of the Subtle Textured embossing.

Before beginning today’s project, I had two challenges in mind; Paper Players theme challenge, “Trees and Leaves,” and Global Design Projects theme challenge, “Fall in Love.”

Thank you to the designers of these two challenges for the inspiration.

Thank you, also, my friends, for stopping by my blog. I hope I was an inspiration for you. My supplies for today’s card are listed below, with the exception of the heart die, and are available in my store.

Enjoy the beauty of Fall leaves!

Beautiful Promenade Sympathy Card

The stamp set with the envelope liner, is how I thought of the Beautiful Promenade set, page 107 of the annual catalog. The liner was definitely my incentive for purchasing it. However, since working with the bundle, I’ve discovered other wonderful things about it.

For instance, the circular, geometric die is amazing! Doesn’t it look like a bowl for my floating flower in this card? This was purely by accident. I’ll be doing a lot more die cutting with this gem!

By Su Mohr for GDP157; Click READ to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Beautiful Promenade, Beautiful Layers, Subtle Textured embossing; #beautifulpromenade #sympathycards #handmadecards #diy #stampinup #gdp157

Beautiful Promenade

And, How about the pretty flower and leaves?!  I love that they have dies for quick and easy card making.

Another great thing are the sentiments. Today’s project is a sympathy card, and the the sentiments in the Beautiful Promenade stamp set are perfect. I stamped “You’re stronger than most” on the front, and “…but even the strong need a shoulder to lean on. I’m here for you,” on the inside.

This picture also shows the die for cutting the envelope liner. The striped liner is a piece of Regals 6X6 Designer Series Paper. It’s nice to have sympathy cards on hand, and ready to send.

I used the Subtle Textured embossing folder for added interest, surrounded by a Blackberry Bliss border from Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper. The final touch was the three, little pearls.

The colors were inspired by this week’s Global Design Project color challenge.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. Remember, there’s more to something than the lining.
