Welcome to the Kre8tors August Blog Hop. We have an exciting color challenge for you this month, using at least three of the colors shown in the photo below.
I was anxious to give you a sneak peek of the Playful Penguins Stamp Set, and Feels Like Frost Designer Paper, from the 2019 Holiday Catalog.
As soon as I saw the beautiful, Feels Like Frost DSP, I noticed the design with shades of Petal Pink and Highland Heather. I thought this would be a perfect winter scene for a penguin. Why not let the DSP do all the work?
My focal point is a penguin from the Playful Penguins Stamp Set. I stamped him in Gray Granite Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and used Paper Snips to fussy cut. l also stamped his scarf in Cherry Cobbler Ink on white cardstock, and fussy cut.
The card base is Purple Posy, layered with Cherry Cobbler, matching the sentiment, “Merriest Wishes,” also from the Playful Penguins Stamp Set. I should have used Highland Heather for the card base, because of the challenge, but momentarily forgot what I was doing. Oops!
TIP: I usually fussy cut, leaving a border around the edge, as die cuts do. This is the way I cut the penguin. But, I cut along the lines of his scarf, thinking it would look better, and I like it.
The stamp set even has a little smudge, giving the penguin a place to stand. I placed him on Dimensionals, and my simple card was complete.
I’m also sharing Playful Penguins, in black and white, for my Paper Players Design Team entry today. Clicking on the card will take you to the details.
My supplies are in the Product List below. If you have ordered from me, I will be sending you the 2019 Holiday Catalog in August, as soon as it’s available. Demonstrators can order from the catalog now, and customers can order September 4th.
