Today’s card developed from a fun challenge showing a sketch, and a contemporary gray/blue room with a spot of red. I think it’s suitable for male or female, and chose “congratulations” for the sentiment.

Contemporary Congratulations

I began with a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The next layer is Misty Moonlight Cardstock, 4 3/4″ X 3 1/2″. The tile wall is In Good Taste Designer Paper, cut 1/8″ smaller. Isn’t it great? This paper is one of the nine designer papers on sale this month, which you can see below. Clicking on the pictures takes you to my store for ordering, where you’ll see the sale prices.

The photographic quality of In Good Taste Designer Paper adds wonderful dimension and texture to a smooth, flat surface. It’s at a higher price, because you get twice as much as the normal packs. The wood is amazing, and it’s great for masculine cards. You need it!

Next, I stamped the flower from the Color & Contour Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler Ink, and used its Scalloped Contours Die for cutting. It has a stamp for coloring, which I “stamped off” to make it a lighter shade of Cherry Cobbler.

The branch beneath the flower was cut with a Forever Flourishing Die from In Good Taste Designer Paper. Can you tell it’s the same paper I used for photographing my card?

“Congratulations” is from the Art Gallery Stamp Set, stamped in Misty Moonlight Ink on concrete, and cut with a Floral Gallery Die. It’s not really concrete; just wanted to see if you were paying attention. It’s actually another pattern of In Good Taste Designer Paper.

I glued the branch to the back of the flower, attached them with Dimensionals, and added three silver, Metallic Pearls.

Now you can see how I was inspired by the Fusion challenge.
