Everyone should enjoy life, and ride a bike. I rode a bike for the first time in years, when I was in Hawaii last week. I’m not a fan of thrill rides, but I like controlling the speed, and pedaling just fast enough to feel the wind. The conditions were perfect, because the streets were flat, few cars, and the temperature was just right. I’d forgotten how much fun it is!
Cycling is on my mind as I made today’s card.
The Enjoy Life stamp set has a silhouette of a guy riding a bicycle, so this provides a perfect opportunity to make a masculine birthday card. I stamped him in Night of Navy ink three times, and cut a square, bordered with Bermuda Bay cardstock.
The card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock, which I embossed with the Subtle embossing folder for added texture. I topped it with a piece of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper.
I wanted to use ribbon, but rather than a bow, I wound Bermuda Bay ribbon around the DSP, adhering it with Tear & Tape.
To complete the sketch, I used the Everyday Label Punch to punch two pieces of Vellum cardstock. I found the sentiment, “Enjoy,” in the Banners for You stamp set, and the Lovely Lipstick bird in Enjoy Life.
Today’s project came together by using two challenges; Paper Players sketch, and Global Design Project’s colors.
When was the last time you rode a bike? Maybe you should give it a try.
Keep scrolling to see the supplies I used in today’s card. I used a retired Bermuda Bay ribbon, but #146939 Bermuda Bay ribbon would work just as well. Thanks for stopping by!
