Today’s gate fold Gingerbread Christmas card is sweet as can be. A gate fold card offers something a little different, while still fitting in our medium envelope.

Gingerbread Friends
The card base is cut lengthwise from 8 1/2″ X 11″ Merry Merlot cardstock, measuring 4 1/4″ X 11.” Scoring each end at 2 3/4,” makes the two sides meet in the center.
I decorated each side with my own DSP, created with the Buffalo Check background stamp. Using my Stamparatus, I inked the stamp with Merry Merlot, and stamped on Whisper White cardstock. Then, I trimmed two pieces, 2 1/4″ X 4,” and glued them to the card front.
My gingerbread friends (Cookie-Cutter Christmas stamp set) were created by stamping them in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock, and using the Cookie Cutter punch for cutting. These good friends look alike, and think alike. Can you believe they picked out identical tree gifts (Tranquil Tide cardstock) for each other?
Before looking inside, check out the corner detail (Detailed Deer die set) made of sugar (Sparkle Glimmer Paper).
Now for the inside, where the Whisper White cardstock measures 5 1/4″ X 4.” I stamped the sentiment from the Cookie-Cutter Christmas stamp set in Crumb Cake ink, “Wishing you a season as sweet and joyful as the friendship we share.”
This picture will show you where my gingerbread friends found their Christmas trees; cropped right from a die in the Hometown Greetings die set.
The Merry Merlot rectangle (Swirly Frames stamp set) completes the look for the inside of today’s gate fold card.
Two challenges were my inspiration for today’s card. The theme “Sweet Treats” at Paper Players:

Such fun, Su! <3
Thank you Brian! I’m so glad you like it!
Such a darling card Su! I love the gatefold and those little gingerbread men are adorable. Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players this week!
Thank you Anne Marie! I always enjoy the inspiration from the Paper Players challenges!
Su… love the gate fold! The little ginger men are so welcoming! Thanks so much for joining us Thanksgiving week at the Paper Players.
Thank you, Elizabeth! Yes, the gatefold is a “quick & easy” alternative to the standard fold.
What a great way to use all of these elements…your gingerbreads certainly are sweet! I love the little trees they each carry too! Thanks so much for sharing this and playing along with my challenge this week!
Thank you, LeAnne! I love to play along!
Thank you, Sherlie! Yes, laying the paper on top works. That was my method before the Stamparatus. I just re-ink until the faded spots disappear. And, sometimes I like the look of faded spots. Have a great day!
I love your card with the gingerbread men. I love that cookie cutter stamp set and punch. I also love the buffalo plaid stamp. It certainly makes a great background paper and my only problem is getting it inked well enough so there aren’t any faded spots. I know the Stamparatas helps but I usually lay it flat and lay my paper on top after I ink. The Merry Merlot is a great color too.
