How do you like my whimsical, gingham flower? Yesterday it was a Whisper White magnolia, and today it’s a Highland Heather & Balmy Blue gingham flower.

Gingham Flower
I used the Magnolia Memory Dies to cut the petals, Daffodil Delight center, and Lemon Lime Twist leaves. A Bone Folder made curling the petals easy.
The Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper is retiring, so order before June 3rd. If you miss out, there is gingham in the 6X6 packs of DSP, which you can see on page168 of the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog. Lemon Lime Twist is the only color that is retiring, and you could use Granny Apple Green in its place.

The border die in the Magnolia Memory set was used to cut the front of the Thick Whisper White card base. Then, I embossed it with the new Button Button (who’s got the button?) embossing folder. Buttons and gingham go together, don’t they?
To accentuate the buttons, I stamped the sentiment, “hey, friend,” on a circle that was cut with a Layering Circle die. It’s from Itty Bitty Greetings, stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on Whisper White Cardstock. It’s layered on Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock, cut with a Stitched Shapes die.

I layered a piece of Lemon Lime Twist gingham on the inside, with a white, Stitched Shapes square for writing a message.

After tying Whisper White Baker’s twine around the top, I stamped a small butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set with Grapefruit Grove ink on the same color gingham paper, and cut it with the Butterfly Duet Punch.

Thank you for taking a peek at my whimsical flower!
There’s lots of gingham going on at TGIF, my inspiration for today’s project.
