When I saw the Hearts & Hugs Stamp Set in the new, 2024-2025 Annual Catalog, I fell in love with the hamster. For todays’ card, she came alive as Hattie; stamped in Memento Black Ink, and colored with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. After I used her Hearts & Hugs die to cut her free, she requested Pretty In Pink for her cheeks. Isn’t she a cutie?

Hattie the Hamster

Hattie loves to nibble on paper, and chose to layer her card with Deckled Rectangles Dies. She thought the uneven edge would conceal where she had taken a bite. We used four of the dies, as shown in the picture. The pink stripe is 2024-2026 In Color 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper in Pretty In Pink. This was glued to a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Hattie wanted her birthday card to be festive, and thought of heat embossing silver dots. I stamped the Drizzling Droplets Background Stamp with VersaMark on Basic White Cardstock, sprinkled it with Silver Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. Our Embossing Additions Tool Kit comes with tweezers to make the job easier.

“Sending birthday hugs” is from her Hearts & Hugs Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with a Happy Little Things Die. The top layer, Hattie, and sentiment are on Dimensionals. Hattie’s final request was a pretty, Silver & White bow, which I attached with a Glue Dot.

Hattie has made friends with the other “huggers” in her stamp set, and thinks you’ll like them too.
