It was time for the Tic Tac Toe #06 Challenge, and I chose the bottom row across, because honey means bees, and the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set has my favorite bee. Plus, woodgrain means trees, and I was anxious to put them together.
I remembered the great plaids from last Christmas’s Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper, and I chose green to go with a Garden Green card base. I thought this would go well with the Wood Textures DSP, which would be the home for the beehive. The tree was placed on Adhesive Foam Strips for added dimension. The hive and honey (yum) was made by embossing So Saffron card stock with the Hexagons embossing folder. The tree was cut with a Layering Ovals die, so you could see the bees busy at work.Â
A branch from Seasonal Layers was added, layering three times for reinforcement. The sentiment, “You’re sweet as can bee,” was found in the Shooting Stars stamp set, and cut with the Classic Label Punch. I stamped my bees in Chocolate Chip ink on yellow, marble DSP, and cut them out with the die.
Someone tied this plaid ribbon around the tree. I hope it didn’t disturb the hive!
I love how you pulled these elements together to make a more vintage feel! Honestly, I hadn’t thought of diecutting the stamped bee image like you did – but it’s lovely! Thanks for playing along with TTTC this week!
Thanks Nicole! I’ll probably keep this bee forever, because I love the way he flies around my cards. It’s my pleasure to play in the TTTC.
Love love love the bee! Your card is beautiful.
Thanks so much, Stella!
This is absolutely bee-u-tiful, Su. I love your creativity!
And, you are so “sweet,” Debi! I see we are side by side on the Tic Tac Toe challenge board. Your beach scene is wonderful!
Sue this card is so sweet! Love those bees and the branch!
Thanks so much Holly!
Great take on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge inspiration board this week, Su! Thanks for joining us 🙂
Thank you Shannon! My pleasure!
Well Done! Love it!
Thanks Cheryl!
The wood grain DSP really makes the rest of the card stand out! The wood grain DSP is one of the best wood grains I have ever seen! Other that cut it, did you modify it in anyway?
Thanks for the comment, Brent! All I did was cut it, amazing paper, huh?
