Have you tried to design a card by using a card challenge? Take a look at the Fusion challenge, and I think you’ll see how today’s card developed.
I first thought of the trim I needed, to look like movie film. Using a Blossoming Happiness Die, I cut two strips from Basic Black Cardstock, 4 3/4″ X 1/8″.

“movie film” of flowers
Next, I wanted to find something red to represent the sofa color, and decided to use flowers from Hues Of Happiness Designer Paper. The Stylish Shapes Die Set has a 1″ square I used to cut four squares. I also fussy cut two small portions of flowers to glue above, as you can see.
For the top portion of the card , I cut a piece of Perfectly Penciled Designer Paper, 4 3/4″ X 2 1/4″. To make things as even as possible, I glued this first to Basic White Cardstock, 4 3/4″ X 4″. Next, I glued a black strip, followed by the four squares, and finally, the second black strip.
I had to do some maneuvering with the measurements, so the Basic Black card base is 8 1/2 ” X 5″ (rather than 5 1/2″), folded at 4 1/4″.
The sentiment is from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set. I stamped “just for you” in Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, used its Sentiment Silhouettes Die for cutting, and attached it with Mini Dimensionals.
I hope you’ve seen how fun it can be to use challenges for inspiration.
