This week’s Global Design Project is a fun theme challenge! Beautiful Bugs! It was the perfect opportunity for my favorite ladybug to pay me a visit.

This ladybug is so cute, and easy to make. First, I used the Ladybug Builder Punch to cut her head and body from Basic Black Cardstock. Then, I stamped her wings in Sweet Sorbet Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the same punch for cutting. The wings were attached with a tiny bit of glue at the neck, and a Mini Dimensional under each wing.

“You can bug me anytime”

The ladybug was ready to munch on green leaves, so I stamped three leaves from the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set in Parakeet Party Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After stamping the leaves, I used Paper Snips for fussy cutting (cutting by hand).

To add to the ladybug’s feast, I used the Medium Daisy Punch to cut six rounds of petals from Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used Mini Dimensionals to attach the rounds of petals, making three flowers. Don’t you love the centers? They were made with a wonderful, Poppy Moments Die from Daffodil Delight Cardstock.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die. I attached this layer, with Dimensionals, to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Prior to attaching the layer, I threaded Gingham Ribbon through the sentiment label (created with a Waves Die), and secured the ends with Glue Dots on the back.

“You can bug me anytime” is from the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set, stamped in Stazon Black Ink.

My May Host Code Gift

Type the current host code (found beneath my profile picture) in the box provided, on your order of $75.00 or more, before tax and shipping, and I will send you the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder in June.

“The delicate design of the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder is subtle enough to match any project but it does not hold back on beauty. Leave the embossed look neutral to emphasize its texture, or get creative and use watercolor to accentuate the florals.”
