Welcome to Kylie Bertucci’s Top Ten Winners Blog Hop. The theme for this month’s Blog Hop is “life changing events.” Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
The reason I’m able to participate in this Blog Hop is because you voted on my entry in October. So, thank you! It was for my daughter’s wedding, and if you missed it, you can see it here:
Today’s project is one that represents a life changing event that caught me by surprise. I’ll explain.
As I was coloring this adorable tea pot from Just Add Color DSP with my new Stampin’ Blends, I was thinking of my mother. She is often on my mind when I’m in my craft room, because she would love to be sitting next to me, being creative. She majored in art in college, and loved to paint with watercolors and oils, but lost her sight years before she left this earth in May of 2016. I was her eyes, and she was my everything.
I know she would love that I am spending my time in creativity, and praise me for my efforts. Do children ever stop wanting to please their parents? Losing a parent is the life changing event I’m trying to describe. But, I prefer to think that I can still communicate with Mama. I found these words in the Sitting Here stamp set, “come and sit a while with me,” along with the little bird that hopped next to the tea pot.
Maybe I’m naïve, but Mama was speaking to me from Heaven. Why do I believe this? A little bird told me so.
