The theme for this month is “love.”
For December’s project, I wanted to use hearts. Specifically, hearts from the Sure Do Love You Bundle in the new Occasions 2018 catalog, page 19. I’ve been anxious to try making the Love Box, and was ready to get started.
This is the finished product, and I really like the texture on the stamps in this set, giving them a rustic look:
The box was much easier to make than I anticipated. I used one sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 Thick Very Vanilla, and cut two pieces for the box with the Lots To Love Die. The die did all the work of measuring, cutting and scoring. I just needed two strips of Tear Tape to fasten it together. The two flaps fold in to make a perfect, little box, 4 7/8″ X 3″ X 5/8″.
I began decorating the top of the box with my husband in mind. He likes the neutral shade of Crumb Cake, so I cut a piece to fit the top of the box.
The leafy, heart border is so pretty, and I stamped it in Always Artichoke on an angle.
Next, I stamped the two hearts in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla cardstock, and cut them with the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies.
But the fun didn’t stop there! I stamped the little leaf in Always Artichoke on Crumb Cake cardstock, and the “Sure Do Love You” banner in Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla cardstock, and used the same die set for cutting.
I popped up the hearts and banner on dimensionals, and I think my husband will really like it! I’m sure he knows I love him, but who doesn’t like an extra, little something? I haven’t decided what I’ll place inside.
You probably noticed the shadows on my pictures. It is such a beautiful, sunny day, I didn’t want to close the blinds. So, I’m sending some heartfelt warmth to you!
Awesome project Su. Love that little box. Might need to take another look at this bundle 🙂
Wow! So cute. What a convenient little box. I love the colors you chose. Perfect for a hubby. 🙂
I’m glad you like it, Jenn! Thanks for the kind words!
Another well-deserved winner to be in Kylie’s special blog hop. I’m a neutrals fan, too, so I’m loving the color combo and rustic feel of the box. I’m sure you’re husband will love it, even if you put in a bag of microwave popcorn. ☺ I’m thinking I need to give this bundle a second look.
Thanks Lucy! It was so nice of you to comment on my blog! Much appreciated!
Love it Su. I didn’t really have this in mind, but somehow I think you have convinced me to relook. TFS
Thanks Vicky! Always happy to enable!
So nice. I was wondering if you can make an envelope instead of a box?
Thanks, Roberta! Someone might be able to figure out an alternative for the die, but I’ll stick with the box. There are Narrow Notecards and Envelopes (page 19) Stampin’ Up! made to fit within the box.
I love this! Now I’m wishing this bundle had been on my preorder. 🙂
Thank you, Sarah! I wanted to have it in time to make Valentines, but this little, surprise, box can be used for everything!
