I’m always on the watch for items that will make a masculine card. You wouldn’t think that the Wonderful Floral die set would provide a woodcarving that would appeal to a man. But, here it is:
The challenge at CAS(E) this sketch was my inspiration for this “clean and simple” card.
The minute I saw the vine growing the length of the sketch, I thought of the new, Occasions, Wonderful Floral die, and knew I had to use it.
Wanting to keep things “clean and simple,” I decided to use Wood Textures Designer Series Paper on a Whisper White card base. Wood lends itself to a masculine design, and what man wouldn’t like this woodcarving? I layered it for thickness, and “authenticity.”
I used three more dies from the Wonderful Floral set: the wooden leaves, the plaque that says “Just for You,” and the sprig of bling.
The leaves were cut from the same Wood Textures DSP, and the sprig is cut from the Sale-A-Bration Grapefruit Grove Foil. A little bit of this foil goes a long way, and makes a nice highlight.
The plaque is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Soft Suede ink with a sentiment from the Meant To Be stamp set.
Before gluing everything in place, I used the Subtle Textured embossing folder on the Thick Whisper White panel.
Thanks for checking out my masculine card made with “feminine” dies. Keep scrolling to see my supply list, and have fun shopping!
