This fashionably dressed mother and daughter are from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set.

Side by Side
I had fun dressing them, like paper dolls, using the “paper-piecing” technique with Tropical Oasis Designer Paper.
I first stamped the mother and daughter in Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I stamped the mother and daughter on the DSP, and fussy cut the dresses.
TIP: It feels weird cutting off their heads, arms and legs, but you have to do it!
After gluing the dresses in place, I colored their skin with the Ivory Stampin’ Blend, and their hair with several colors named in my Product List below.
I used the largest Stitched So Sweetly Die for cutting.

The background is a Soft Sea Foam card base, stamped with palm trees from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set in Pear Pizzazz Ink.
“Side by Side” is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set, cut with another Stitched So Sweetly Die. This sentiment is perfect, don’t you think?

Today’s card was inspired by the Paper Player’s challenge, “Fashion Fun.”

What a wonderful design Su, with the palm trees in the background of the main image panel! And of course the paper pieced mother and daughter are so sweet, with a sentiment that really tugs at the heart! Such a lovely card that ties in perfectly with The Paper Players challenge this week!
What a lovely card, Su! I love this stamp set – and it’s so perfect for Paper Piecing, which you’ve done to spectacular effect!! Also really like the touch of the palm trees behind the art image – I can absolutely see them strolling along the beach. Well done!
Love this summery pair Su – such pretty sundresses and co-ordinates beautifully with the background too. Thanks for playing along over at The Paper Players this week!
OMG this is just precious! Beautiful coloring!
Thank you so much for giving me an idea of how to make the dresses colored and not actually having to color them. Fussy cutting works ok for me but coloring with shaky hands doesn’t work so well. Thanks again for sharing.
This is so sweet, Su! I love their dresses…and the stamping on the background coordinates nicely! What a fun way to create your fun fashion card this week! TFS!
