Welcome to the January Highlights. This month’s theme is showcasing the new products in the Occasions 2018 Catalog. I have so many favorites, but I decided on the Cake Soiree Bundle. Who doesn’t love layer cake?

This cake looks almost too good to eat, but truthfully, I can’t wait to cut into it!

I thought Thick Very Vanilla was appropriate for the card base, with a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock. No wonder these color names make me want something sweet! I had fun using the new Simple Stripes Embossing Folder (page 5 in the catalog) on the background.

TIP: Lighter pressure through the Big Shot keeps the stripes from tearing apart.

I heat embossed the cake with White Powder on Very Vanilla cardstock, and used its die for cutting. The “dyed frosting” flowers and greenery were made with Stampin’ Blends in four colors: Light and Dark Old Olive, Calypso Coral, and Pumpkin Pie.

I decorated the top of the cake with “Best Wishes,” stamped in Powder Pink Ink.

How about this gorgeous cake stand! It has two dies, which I used for cutting it from Copper Foil.

I tied lace around the bottom, a resting place for the sentiment, “Happy Birthday.” I used a Bunch of Banners Die for cutting.

“Happy Birthday” is actually the bottom half of the sentiment. I used the top half on the inside. I just covered up the “Happy Birthday” when I stamped “May your day be as wonderful as you.” (see page 12).

I used the same colors of Stampin’ Blends for the inside decoration, painting the rubber stamps. TIP: Stamp quickly, because the alcohol makes it dry fast.

For an added touch, I embossed the envelope flap with one of the Petal Pair (page 23) embossing folders. I think it’s ready to send!
