I took one look at this sketch, and had no idea how I would manage to duplicate this pattern. It had me stumped. But the samples were so interesting and colorful, I wanted to give it a try.
I’m pretty happy with the results, and glad I stuck with the challenge. It isn’t exact, but then, a CAS(E) isn’t supposed to be.

Occasions 2018 Tutti-Frutti Patchwork
Spoiler Alert!
If you’d like to solve the puzzle on your own, stop here. If you’d like to know how I did it, you can continue reading.
I could see I needed a bunch of different colors and patterns to case my favorite samples, so decided to use the new Tutti-Frutti 6X6 Designer Series Paper. It has a wonderful selection, including a black and white stripe that would be the background.

I adhered the stripe to a 4 1/4 X 5/12 piece of Basic Black cardstock with the intention of trimming it to 4″ X 5 1/4″ after all the strips were glued in place.
1/2″ strips were too narrow, 1″ strips too wide, so 3/4″ strips seemed just right. I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut my 3/4″ strips from eight different papers in the Tutti-Frutti pack. Next, I cut a triangle from the black and white dotted paper for the upper right hand corner, glued it down, and placed the Kiwi strip next to it.

I continued making the pattern by placing the strips at a right angle to the Kiwi strip. I was left with the strips hanging over the edge, and shortened these with scissors. Then, I used the Stampin’ Trimmer to cut a neat 4” X 5 1/4” art piece to layer on my Whisper White card base.
The sentiment was my last decision, and I used a black, die cut “thanks” from a retired set. This patchwork CAS(E) was great fun after all. And, Stampin’ Up makes it easy, because of the way they coordinate everything. I hope you give it a try.

This is an exciting day! Have a wonderful Christmas Eve!

Great job! Choosing the papers would be the hardest part for me. I have so many choices in my stash! LOL. Don’t we all??

Thank you Leigh!
I’m so glad you gave it a shot because I love your creation! I actually laughed when I read about getting your papers the right size because I had all of that running through my head when I made the sketch and my card! I’m pretty sure my card strips are 3/4″ also. How funny!!!
Hi Chrissy, I enjoyed your comments. Thanks for sharing with me!
You painted a cozy scene! Merry Christmas, Stella!
Your card case is pretty. I like how each collection of papers always look good together. I’m enjoying my morning black rifle coffee with Irish creamer out of state with my son and his family. We have the fireplace roaring. That makes a wonderful Christmas Eve morning. I hope your Christmas is the best ever.
