Welcome to the June 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month’s theme, Pick a “B”, features projects inspired by Babies, Birthdays and Brides to name few. You may just get a glimpse of new catalog products while you hop with us today.
Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
Since beginning this blog just one month ago, I’ve been looking forward to my first Pals Blog Hop. I always enjoy seeing everyone’s creations, so being able to participate is thrilling! This month’s theme is the letter “B,” and I chose “Birthday.”
This graceful mermaid caught my eye the first time I scanned the catalog at OnStage. I thought she would be fairly easy to fussy cut, and with the exception of her hair, she was. I stamped her in Chocolate Chip on Thick Whisper White cardstock, because I wanted her to be sturdy on top of dimensionals. Next, on to the coloring…
I used our watercolor pencils without adding water. Her hair is Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie with a band of Real Red, and her tail is Old Olive and Bermuda Bay. Do you see the Clear Acrylic Block E in the picture? That’s what I inked with the color Pool Party for the frame. There wasn’t quite enough color, so I added more with the dotted stamp in the set. I also used the sand and seashell stamp along the bottom in Sahara Sand, and the seaweed stamp in Old Olive.
Before gluing the art piece to the Bermuda Bay card base, I wanted to add ocean waves. I had experimented with our new Ruffled embossing folder, so I knew it would create just the look I wanted. Only, it turned out better than I thought it would! And, the sentiment, “have a Magical Birthday,” fit perfectly in our new Label Punch with the added stamped decoration around it from the Label Me Pretty stamp set. If you happened to notice, this card is photographed on our new Designer Series Paper, Just Add Color. A sea turtle is peeking from beneath this card, but will soon take center stage. My grandson loves sea turtles, so I’ll be sending one to him.
Thanks again for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on July 12. We’re having a pattern party! Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. See you on July 12 for the next Pals Blog Hop!

Hi its a beautifull card, but i see 2 different colors in the waves how did you do that with the embossingfolder.
Dit you color the embossingfolder first or not, I see white and color in the waves.
Hi Ingrid, I used Pool Party Ink with the acrylic block stamping technique before embossing with the Wave embossing folder. If you see another color, it’s from shadows created by embossing. I didn’t color the folder. Thank you for asking. Have a great day!
Su, you were the icing on the cake for the blog hop! Well done!!!
What a nice thing to say, Katy! Thank you very much!
Great Card! Love it!
Hi Kimberly, thanks for the love!
I have no idea what fussy cutting or caseing is, but this card looks AMAZING!
Thank you, sweet daughter! CAS(E)ing means copy and share everywhere. Stamping is one place where this is a compliment, and encouraged. Fun, huh? And, fussy cutting means cutting by hand. I plan to make a sea turtle card for Drake one of these days.
This was My favorite card on this hop!! Thank You, this definitely one to case!!
Wow Linda! That’s a huge compliment, because there are so many great cards on the hop. Thanks so much!
Su, you may be the last hopper on the list but your project is definitely worth the wait. It’s beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us on the blog hop today.
Thank you, Rae! Your comment means a lot! And, I really appreciate the work you put into making this Blog Hop successful!
Su, you have definitely made a splash with this card! I love the colors and the embossing folder makes it look like she is swimming right along. Love it! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thanks Jennifer! It was really fun to do!

Thanks Jennifer! I appreciate your comment very much!
This is simply gorgeous. It was on my want list, but now I want it even more.
Thanks Pamela! I hope to see what you create with this set!
Oh my! She’s gorgeous!! I will be CASEing! I love her scales!
Thanks Patti! CASE away! The scales were easy with just two of our watercolor pencils.
Over the top, Su! Your talent is amazing! You are a master at putting different elements together. Awesome!
Thanks Karen! Such kind words, and I really appreciate them!
What a stunning card! Your design aesthetic and execution are perfect. Now I need that embossing folder for sure. So glad you joined the Hop.

Thanks Windy! You should try fussy cutting. This one really wasn’t that hard. I know you can do it!
