I think of water lilies as floating on lily pads, but so much is going on beneath the surface, like stems!

Here is a “sneak peek” at my first card made with the Sale-A-Bration Lily Pad Dies and Lily Impressions Designer Paper.

Paper-Pieced Lily Pad

I love this Lily Impressions Designer Paper in its vibrant colors. Using three of the Lily Pad Dies, I cut into the DSP as the picture shows. This is when I decided to use the “paper-piecing” technique for my lily.

Using the lily die a second time, I cut a Whisper White Cardstock frame. Paper-piecing can be tedious, but it’s great fun, if you like this sort of thing.

The Take Your Pick tool made it much easier to pick up each of the 10, small, petals, and glue them in place. You can click on this tool in my Product List to read more about it, and put it in your shopping cart!

Prior to the paper-piecing, I used a Stitched Rectangles Die with Thick Whisper White Cardstock for the lily’s background. And, I added a fancy strip along the bottom, made with a border die, also from the Lily Pad Die Set. Isn’t it great?

I glued the green leaves and stem in place, and looked for a sentiment. I remembered the tiny tag in the Bouquet Bunch Die Set with “hello” from its coordinating stamp set, Beautiful Bouquet.

The Corrugated Embossing Folder provided a nice amount of texture.

There was the perfect size of DSP for decorating the envelope flap, 5 3/4″ X 2 1/4″, so I did, which is in the first photo. This paper was probably designed with brushstrokes, but it reminds me of finger painting, and I love it!

What is Sale-A-Bration anyway? It’s Stampin’ Up’s “sale” and “celebration” when you can earn FREE product for qualifying orders.

The Lily Pad Dies and Lily Impressions DSP will be available Dec. 3 for Demonstrators, and Jan. 3 for customers, FREE with qualifying orders of $50 or $100. Anything you order from the new Mini Catalog, or Annual Catalog, qualifies.

Thank you for visiting my blog. The other supplies are in my Product List today, but you’ll need to come back Dec. 3 to find the new sets in my store. For now, put the numbers on your “want list.” Have a wonderful day!
